Goodwill has a right to cover the makers mark but I have a right to know what I am buying. Therefore I feel no guilt peeling the label.
Same here. I also completely remove all the tape over anything especially with 2 pieces to see if its chipped etc.. or the painting is removed by the sticky tape.
Me too. I’m not above asking them to cut the tape or open a bag so I can inspect it before I buy. I’m tired of getting things home and finding out they’re damaged.

Hey Noah, you can wash your cast iron pan, just dry really well and season it will cooking oil, like olive oil or crisco oil. (Rub oil in pan) Enjoy! They will last forever and the longer you cook with them the better they get. ❤
I complained to the manager at our local Goodwill about the stickers over the info on the bottom of items. She said they aren’t supposed to do that But nothing has changed…..
And yet they put price labels on the TOP of an oil painting or a puzzle box!!!

My cast iron was passed down to me when with some pieces being over 100 years old. It has always been washed and never sticks. I am not going to change how it has been cleaned all these years. I re-season with lard once a year.

Danni, Just wanted to tell you our garage sale was a success. All my totes have been gone through, everything I want to keep is packed, until we get our reno's done. Our Son got a lot of things, our oldest grandson got things, and our daughter is getting a very full, very heavy tote of all sorts of things, that she wanted, that nobody else is interested in. Tomorrow is the final tidy up of totes the the room we want to renovate first. I have lots for the thrift store, that I forgot about before the garage sale, but they aren't worth much at a garage sale, mainly some shoes and a very few clothes. I am so happy. WE had a beautiful warm sunny day for it too. I love cleaning my clutter. Feels so good!!! When I can finally un-pack it all, may have more to go. I found a lot of things I sold, I was just no longer interested in anymore.

I think the Le Cruset is actually a utensil holder. I looked on the site and didn’t see any with lids. But the are about $70 with utensils.

At 12:53: the 3 tier would be a fabulous store fixture/display. It could be for jewelry, little trinkets, seasonal displays, little baggies of items, hankies, ephemera, wade Red Rose small animals, faux fruits n veggies, napkin rings, Christmas decorations, moss balls, or tiny clay pots with faux cactus and succulents, etc. etc... Close to the cash register so when customers are paying they can perhaps make an "Impulse purchase'. I would have snagged that so fast. Perfect for displays at flea markets, craft fairs, etc.. Re the bird toy, I suspect you could hang up 1or 2 of the strands of hanging colour blocks in his cage, by using small carabiners. When they get chewed up, pooped on or when he is bored of them then they can be switched out for something else. :)

Bronze statues are made of a mixture of metals w copper being one, poured into a mold. Bronzed baby shoes are copper electroplated onto the shoes. It’s a technique rather than a metal type.
Noah I love to cook!! We had a family restaurant for 40 years I was the cook along side my mom. Nobody could ever out cook her. If ya ever want to trade a recipe let me know. Dani you are great at what you do.
My local thrift was selling reams of legal size copy paper for $4. I went there on a 75% off office supply sale day and paid $1! Score!!!

Really neat stuff today. The large sand dollar was beautiful. Amazing to find a big bird toy. The champagne glasses were nice and just beautiful. The blue utensil holder is nice. Those are expensive. I would have bought the three nesting bowls beside of the chipped bowl. I love cast iron Noah. I use steel wool to clean mine after soaking in hot water for 5 minutes. Season with some oil. I do dry them on the cookstove on low heat.

Baby shoes are actually covered with a bronze mixture during the process. The ones you found may have been copper but most are just regular bronzed.

Noah, you can wash your cast iron skillets with soap but always rub them down with lard or cooking oil every once and awhile!

Tell Noah my grandmother washed her cast iron with coarse salt and lard or butter. That got the goop out. Then she put it back on the fire until good and hot before she cooled and put it away. It was like cooking on Teflon after she seasoned her pans. NEVER soap unless you wanted to sleep in a barn!😊
NOAH it's okay to use a tiny amount of soap like dawn small amt. Rinse well. Done it for years only good results. Plus use the burner heat to dry your skillets when you can. Thorough drying is the key to success.
Danni-when a new GW opened in our area, I took it upon myself to request they not put stickers over the markings on the bottom. These were upper mgmt personnel I told. They shook their heads in agreement. I was so pleased with myself!! Well-did it make a difference?? What do you think?!!!!!😂😂😂

Cross stitch was absolutely amazing !! I used to cc it’s a lot of work !
I recently found a 16” x 20” framed cross stitch of an English country house and garden at my Salvation Army (I call it Sal’s). It’s absolutely exquisite workmanship. I purchased it for 6 bucks! Can I let go of it for resell? Nope! It stays with me. 👍🏻💕💕
FUN FACT: The needleworker stitched her initials in the corner and guess what? SAME initials as me! How strange (in a good way) is that? 😃

Starting in frame 18:51, I also found those mugs with the folk dancers fascinating, so I did a little research. I could see that they said, " made in Poland". That other word was "Wloclawek", a city in Poland that has several faience ceramic factories. They were nationalized by the Polish state after WWII and their pieces were hand made and hand painted. Many of their artists won awards for their beautiful work. That maker's mark came into use in 1967 until it was replaced in 1973. Sadly, they are not doing great on ebay right now. Too bad, I think they deserve better.

If you ever find something to buy for your animals you can always get the food grade sanitizer spray to make sure it is safe for your pets😊

When your Oleanders were removed...Is is possible the Roots for you Fig Trees were disturbed in some way? That would shock them and they could be reacting to that. Don't actually "know" where things are planted in you yard, of course. Just a thought. Cathleen

❤️🙃 if you are using city water on your fig tree it has salt in it which make the leave turn brown on the edges from understanding all fruit tree are affected by salt I stop using city water on mine and there doing much better

Love the hands bowl - you needed to purchase - the missing finger is not a big deal. This good will has a lot of great stuff - mine is really picked over.
I don't work at Goodwill, but it is my suspicion it has to do with resellers. (I love you and have nothing against reselling.) This is just my suspicion of why they cover the maker's marks. I think they are hoping people will buy stuff that they just like the look of, or are willing to take a chance it is something valuable. I hope I'm making sense.

I read, somewhere, Goodwill made that their policy, a long,long time ago. Something about “makers/manufacturer’s “ wanting the name of donated goods, covered. Not wanting high end names associated with thrift. No idea if that. Was just a random guess on someone’s part, or not.

Dani Coach Poppy is usually a good one to resell..look up the # inside the purse and you will be able to see if it's authentic..it looked like a good one to me..Ty you for the videos..my favorite part is when your parrot Bougie says " Yeah" but I love seeing all your animals
