@@markray6113 that’s not how things work.. these people throw their normal life’s away to be in danger for the public benefit. There are SOME officers that decide to use their power for evil, but that doesn’t mean we can give them life or charge them more than a regular criminal.. we don’t even do that for politicians that commit crimes lol. I agree they need ti be held accountable but if cops find out they will be given harsher sentences than the criminals they are sent to capture? They will not sign up for the job. I hope you know that all over this country we have a LEO shortage and it’s only getting worse. This would make that 10x worse.

@@hottomek7423they should be held to a higher standard, I've always said police should get twice the sentence a civilian would get since it's a breach of trust to the community they've sworn to protect.

@@seana2375 My reply to the other dude got deleted by someone... I go on to state this would not work. We already have a major shortage of LEO in this country. Upping the fear of getting imprisoned longer than the criminals you are sent out to face? Yeah, no. Its not logical, nor fair. They should receive maximum punishment for the crimes they commit. If they kill someone, 2nd degree, if they are driving on their phone, reckless endangerment.
But you can't just double the sentence and expect to have cops that still want to do the work. As you know, cops are essentially our mafia, and ALL of their work is technically 'illegal' its just we deem it necessary and give these people the badge of rights to do it.

I strongly believe in forgiveness and redemption, but whether or not it is genuine is for God to determine. No leniency is acceptable in this case. Unless the apology came before he was arrested for the crime, we can reasonably assume it is purely self-serving. Only after time has passed can we readdress that.
