I also had a small pig name Debs The size of a fat labrador (most grow much bigger). She lived to 15 years old and was just like a dog, very similar traits. Although Debs was a lot smarter so that was even more like losing a child. Losing a dog is like losing a child too though. So sad. But we need to remember they were lucky to have us as guardians as we were kind and caring and loved them. Many animals don't get that kindness. especially pigs.
I have the same grief about my old bonsai trees that couldn't survive various moves, or got intercepted by customs just because I had to drive through Canada to or from Alaska.

A dogs only flaw is they don’t live long enough. So true. Loving our 5 family dog in 25 years of marriage remembering each dog with love for their unique attributes and the love the unconditionally provided us during their short lives. From 2 years to 13.
Our 5th dog is a rescue now living his best life at 7 years of age with less time than if we’d had him as a pup but he has seamlessly blended into our lives with pure joy and obvious happiness. There is so much more palpable ❤love in our home because of this sweet pup who loves us both equally and fully. We are blessed indeed.
