I know a few children where the parents hate each other, yet they always present them to others like this amazing, lovable, perfect family. I feel this type of denial maybe some sort of coping mechanism
Honestly, this reminded me so much of my parents. They got along great until I was about 14 and then they acted like they hated each other and made one another's lives miserable but refused to get a divorce by thinking they were doing the family so favor by staying together (and forcing us to live in a warzone). This clip was hilarious but you can tell it had some real-life truth to it.
That happened to me too. Looking back at it now after they got divorces when i was in my late teens till now a decade later. I don't have a family anymore. I very rarely even met my mom or my dad with my sister together. And my bigger family i have t seen in some years because it all feels awkward
Unlike SNL, MADtv was not dependent upon "Guest Visits of Celebrities" or the latest pop bands. So, I remain grateful for their writers and social commentary.
Major Ramsey LOL, it totally had to be a cover, didn't think it was funny at first then replayed it and busted out laughing lol. How fast the wife sat down
lmao she's also trying to stop the laughing! xD Listen to his laughing histerically at 4:06 then her Look at her struggle to get the attention away from her belly, trying to look up and focusing on the smoke to not laugh. Look at his hand, if he wanted to see the camera see him laughing he would let the camera see him! And for both of them to still continue after that, really awesome fun to see. Now I get the feel for what acting really is like.
"Roy...I am begging you with every fiber of my being. Can we please have one dinner, that is not drowning, in your CONDESCENSION AND MALICE!!!!!!" ROFL
Because it's all she knows, crazy chaotic arguing is home to her, her parents yelling is her soothing ASMR lulaby. And she'll grow up to crave loud abusive instability, thus continuing the cycle that has circled around many many generations of her family, again and again, a tragedy old as time.
Yep. Debra and Stephnie, too. A tour de force, with the improbable addition here of subtitles in Finnish, which like Magyar (but not Gaelic ) is a non-Indo-European language.
James Blackwood She is in denial as a coping mechanism, cuz her parents are still "together" There was a dysfunctional family, in our extended family , with the parents were literally never spoke to each other, and you could feel them insulting each other through remarks, yet their children always talked about how their parents marriage last so long. Their son after his marriage ultimately got vocal
James Blackwood all the people speculating on what the characters state of mind could be...my parents fought like this for eighteen years, by year 15 I was smiling too. At that point it just becomes a joke.
Marriage is strictly a business deal. If people take more responsibility in figuring out what the cost and gains are as well as some foresight and serious consideration in making this deal their married lives wouldn't end up as miserable.
Mo: Because I do everything around here! Ike: You're right you do. You do all the bitching, all the complaining, and all the misery making in this God forsaken house! One of the best comebacks ever!
Parent separation is bittersweet. I lived with both parents after they split. I have good memories of both situations. And ugly ones too. It’s hard to imagine they were ever together in the first place. A lot of heartbreak. A lot of fear, pain and guilt.
My sister refuses to divorce her husband because her two young children deserve a two parent household and they love their father. But they literally have interactions like this every three weeks. In front of the kids, my heart breaks for those living in this reality…but dammit MadTv was brilliant
I'm sure she swapped it because it said in the script she needs to eat salad, which she did, but couldn't if she kept the little she first got. So she did what she had to. If she had gotten more, she probably would not have switched.
mine too, only it was interacial, him crying like a girl with his hand up dramatically was the funniest part. At least they made me laugh at the absurdity that was my childhood
The daughter smiling through the whole thing made this priceless. She must have loved not having to cover a smile through this sketch.
No Collins in this skit brings off a Louis from
Malcolm In The Middle if she went to far and forgot to take her medications.
I love dot. She is soooooo hot. Omg.
I don't even know her name but I love her like dot loves her gloves. Or how the babysitter loved the dad lol.
She is the best
I know a few children where the parents hate each other, yet they always present them to others like this amazing, lovable, perfect family.

She is enjoying a show~
Sometimes these comedy sketch tells so much truth.
holohulolo :^(
yes.. confusing if I should laugh or cry... :-(
so true. This one especially. What's the point of staying together if the children have to live in this sort of hell shown here?
holohulolo The best comedy comes from truth.
holohulolo was gonna say that
Sad truth
I still can't get over how she can yell like that.
Right? I can't even yell like that when I'm real angry.
Comedy gold!
Like the mom from Malcolm in the Middle 🤣
Chile what!?!? 5:04
She's female they can all scream like that...hopefully you get one that never feels she needs to
thats actually very good acting, I'm impressed
true
Won't see that on SNL
Ikr? This deserves and award. 😊
Mo Collins is incredible
that's some pure vocal skill she got over there...
I turned this into an mp3 file and it' s on my player for over 10+ years. I love MadTV.
Send it to me please! 🥺
i bet you know this sketch word for word 😂
"A Caesar salad!? Lettuce, croutons, and dressing, in a bowl!!? Are you some kind of wizard?"
Something about Mo Collins delivery and her facial expressions just make me laugh until I'm in tears. She RULES.
Grew up watching her. She is so underrated and such a comedic genius in her delivery and timing.
I love the fact that she brought back Lorraine for the current times. She’s genius!
She is an amazing actress.
@@CreativeCreatorCreatesit definitely made me happy cry.
I've had a thing for Mo since I first saw her on Madtv
Honestly, this reminded me so much of my parents. 唉,童年啊
Yes my ex boyfriend's Parents were like this lol. I had started to dread coming over.
I NEVER MET EVEN MET MY FATHER YOU WERE LUCKY
That happened to me too. Looking back at it now after they got divorces when i was in my late teens till now a decade later. I don't have a family anymore. I very rarely even met my mom or my dad with my sister together. And my bigger family i have t seen in some years because it all feels awkward
And this is why at 11 years old I was so relieved when my parents finally separated. It was a nightmare.
"Where would 50 Lbs even come from?!?!?"
"From your Big Fat MOUTH!!" *throws salad*
I literally almost passed out laughing at that line.
3:47 Best Part. 😆
Unlike SNL, MADtv was not dependent upon "Guest Visits of Celebrities" or the latest pop bands. So, I remain grateful for their writers and social commentary.
I wonder if him crying wasn't planned and just a cover because he was laughing. That 50 pounds bit to him crying is the best part.
Major Ramsey LOL, it totally had to be a cover, didn't think it was funny at first then replayed it and busted out laughing lol. How fast the wife sat down
Le Penseur I agree he lost at 50 pounds......I died
That table laughing was like watching Harvey Corman's reactions to Tim Conway on the Carol Burnette Show. =)
Yep he started off laughing and used that time to act like he was crying until he could come out of it.
lmao she's also trying to stop the laughing! xD Listen to his laughing histerically at 4:06 then her Look at her struggle to get the attention away from her belly, trying to look up and focusing on the smoke to not laugh. Lol hahahaha
I cried laughing 😂😂😂😂😂😂
How do you do it, my dear?! Are you some kind of wizard?!
Slow down, I’m trying to write this down.
No one ever gives Ike Barinholtz any props but that guy is awesome just like most of the cast.
He's one of the best, he also got to play griggs in suicide squad
TheNewRobotMaster
TheNewRobotMaster
I find him sexy
Yeah, he was awesome.
kanishq ruhil As do I. He can get it.
Debra Wilson's face throughout this sketch speaks volumes.
the fact that the girl was smiling the entire time her parents are fighting makes me really stressed out
Because it's all she knows, crazy chaotic arguing is home to her, her parents yelling is her soothing ASMR lulaby. And she'll grow up to crave loud abusive instability, thus continuing the cycle that has circled around many many generations of her family, again and again, a tragedy old as time.
That was part of the genius of the skit.
Julianne Hannes what you said was deep and so true
@@JulianneHannes
I know many people who's parents have terrible relationships, yet they act like their parents are the best couple on the planet
The fact that you think this skit is real is distressing. You apparently have never heard of creative licence...
I don't know what Mo and Ike got paid for this show, but they earned it in this one sketch.
GaelicMagyar I agree

@Mndface I said nothing to suggest that. You are looking into something you shouldn't be.
I love how Stephanie's character is amused by her parents fighting. She looks so pleased.
These 4 are among my favorite cast members easily
James Blackwood
She is not amused, she doesn't know any better, cuz that's what she's seen always
kanishq ruhil I don't know. She seems to understand Debra's "parents" situation. So I can assume she understands her parents are doing the same thing.

Love how the salad stays in the bowl after it hits the door.
that was a really special salad
Shows the culinary genius of her cheffing
She IS some kind of wizard!
I swear these two must’ve been having a blast doing this skit 😂😂😂😂
This was hilarious! Stephanie Weir is pure comedy. I don't know why she doesn't get the recognition she deserves.
Mo: Because I do everything around here!
Ike: You're right you do. You do all the bitching, all the complaining, and all the misery making in this God forsaken house!

Lol i agree, that part was hilarious!
Hell yeah! 😂💀
Absolutely F'ing hilarious. Great skit, acting & writing. People just love this shit cuz it hit's real CLOSE to home. LMFAO 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve used that line a time or two. Works great!!!! I can’t help but laugh even though I’m supposed to be mad.
( AMEN to that!!)
Brings me back. Watched this MadTV episode with my parents when I was little.
I laughed. They didn’t.
The acting between Collins Barinholtz deserves to be recognized in this sketch. They are brilliant actors .
2:12 she switches the salads with her friends so tht she gets the bigger one.
Lol, that's because she has to do the eating in the scene.
Damn, good eye.
ok, detective.
Stephanie weir is the funniest female cast member of any show like this imo
i would take my salad back an how she goin smell an be like mmmmm its salad
perfect description of my childhood.

Yup, that's my parents right there.
Lol, I loved these sketches. It's so great how Mo is screaming, the Dad breaks down and cries, and the daughter just sits there staring blankly ahead
"Yes yes yes, please, stay... I want you to see this!"
Gets me every time.
Did anyone else child life flash before there eyes? I mean the 90s were a means of divorce lol!
Yes, only my mother had the line they have here where she was staying in the nightmare so we could have a "normal" home!
Heck yeah....
If this were SNL the cast would be cracking up about thirty seconds into the sketch.
Snl would not have even tried cause they would not want some one to feel bad.
If this were SNL, the pussies would've cut it at dress.
Madtv breaks character all the time. Its hilarious
Unfortunately the audience would not be...........
I'm pretty sure the guy in this one did start laughing pretty bad at around 30 seconds covering his face and everything
Parent separation is bittersweet. I lived with both parents after they split. I have good memories of both situations. And ugly ones too. It’s hard to imagine they were ever together in the first place. A lot of heartbreak. A lot of fear, pain and guilt.
My parents all but separated on paper. Things are more peaceful as a result.
Stephanie Weir is the bomb!!! She made her oblivion look soooooooo believable, she's amazing
Sad how this is truthful in so many families
i'm crying ... Mad TV was everythinggg
How is SNL still going but this is gone? I keep laughing at each MadTV skit but I have to dig for something to make me laugh on SNL
I never realize how funny mo collins was until i rewatch some of these sketches as an adult
I'm sorry, I don't usually comment, but these are WAY too hilarious. I can't stop repeating these.

Ashley Mitchell
"SNL is a joke"... oxymoron spotted.
Ashley Mitchell but snl isn't a joke and that's the problem. Lol

I was just like Stephnie's character before my parents got divorced. I guess I didn't see how bad the situation was :)
Best acting I've ever seen
Dysfunctional comedy sketches is the best category ever.
this hit too close to home hahahahah
Its subtly terrifying how the girl is keeping a happy face while her parents fight. It makes you wonder what else goes on in that home
It's all she knows and because of that it's nothing to her, their arguing was the lulaby she slept to as a baby. Choas is her home.

OMG, this is probably one of the most disturbing MadTv sketches that I ever seen, it's great!!! A+++
2:08 the daughter barely gets any salad so she swaps it with her friends lol
Yeah, I noticed she got like no salad, and then a shot later, she had a full bowl.
+Mak Moncman Actually, you can see her switch the bowls before the shot change.

how can anyone be funny just eating salad stephnie is a true comedian
Stephnie Weir will always be one of the funniest people on TV. She was fuckin amazing through her MadTV career
I love how she was just eating like nothing was wrong 😂
She's my sister, delusionally happy in choas
#1 she's used to it and #2 EVERYONE says that staying married is better. So she's living and enjoying her parents staying together.
😅
She is an amazing actor O.O *claps for Mo*
Notice no scripts to read SNL, Madtv rocks.
I love the salad bit "are you some kind of wizard"
She is so good at eating salad
This is my parents. Only difference is I never had a friend who wanted to come over.
LMAO omg I feel so awkward when my friends parents argue in front of me
This one hit surprisingly close to home...
My man threw the salad and cried lmao
