Great Video! Alex has released some new file to run the original yaapu telemetry script with Crossfire! I dont know if it is possible for you to make a video about it, but it would help many people out...including me XD. Thank for all the support you have given this community
Thanks for this tutorial!!! Just got my maps working, and I’m so grateful because it was difficult!!! Still, thank you so much to the developers! To summarize this entire procedure into parts: 1. Install Yaapu Telemetry Widget on Radio (if you haven’t already done so. This is covered in a separate video) 2. Install and download map PNG files (“tiles”) for your desired flight area 3. Convert PNG files to 100x100 resolution which can be viewed on the Radio’s screen 4. Copy files to radio 5. Add the Maps telemetry page on the radio (optional: configure two switches for quicker toggling (1) zoom and (2) telemetry pages. My map “zoom level” is "-1" (“zoom level” = max zoom (which is confusing, because “Max” in GMapcatcher is zoomed out, but when I think of “Max zoom” I think of zoomed in (but min = zoomed in in GMapcatcher). Anyway! I won’t say “max zoom” ever again... (or maybe once more. There needs to be a better adjective.) My folders from GMapCatcher which I copied to the Radio were -1, 0, 1. Since screen resolution on the TX16S isn't so hot, maybe -2 is best like the video demonstration (ie: 0, -1, -2 folders) but I think it will be nice to see the zoom level at “1” for a wider perspective of where your drone is, especially if you do long-range.) Unless you have a crash and need to find your drone, then you want -2. Some other trip-ups I had that others might encounter: 1. I had already installed the Yaapu Telemetry Widget before working on this Maps install, not realizing the same Yaapu Script is an all-in-one and has the capability to do maps (in addition to artificial horizon). I had installed a copy on my radio not knowing the two were the same. I think I missed the part where you assigned Page 5 to be Maps. (while page 1 and 2 are horizon and telemetry alerts. Worth noting when you first get started!) Page 3 and 4 are nothing? (or are more alerts?) 2. When I first loaded GMapCatcher, my version which I think is the latest as of now, had a Map selection dropdown which was defaulted to blank/null, and the field isn't labeled, so I had trouble seeing why no maps were loading. This is the map-selection drop-down. Not sure if this field is ever supposed to be null, but mine was null when I first downloaded the program. Maybe maps were not selected (I recommend adding all maps and figure out the good ones: Settings > Change Theme > Select Map Servers > Change all map values to 1 = on (aka enabled) so the map can be selected in the drop-down above the map viewport) 3. In GMapCatcher, it’s worth emphasizing the procedure to download is right-clicking on the map-area and selecting “batch download” and adjusting the zoom (eg you can highlight the desired area/zoom-out for the region you want to download (and be sure to specify the min and max zoom (again: in GMapCatcher: min = zoomed in, max = zoomed out, so select min = -2, max = 0 or 1 or 2). If you specify too much (too high a “max” such as greater than 1 or 2, you’re going to have a progressively massive download. 4. Worth emphasizing you can only have 3 levels of zoom on the Radio(ie -2, -1, 0 or -1, 0, 1) 5. GMapCatcher has a lot of interesting maps, but many don't have a full zoom level down to -2. It helps to try out all the map options. Google Maps "Terrain" has full range of zoom all the way down to -2. There are probably some better ones out there with satellite imagery. (eg, “Virtual Earth Satellite” looks good.) 6. One commenter said GMapCatcher now can download as 100x100, so running Imagemagick wasn’t necessary for him. This was not true in my case, unless there’s a way to set the resolution in the GMapCatcher settings, but I don’t see that option. The map “tiles”/PNGs are 256x256 when downloaded and would not be read by the Yaapu Script on my radio. “No Image” is displayed on the radio at the downloaded 256x256 resolution. 7. There are several ImageMagick versions out there. I had downloaded the wrong one from Github. When I looked carefully at your video, you had downloaded the “Portable Q16 x64”. (I believe the Github page for Yaapu Telemetry/Maps no longer had the Github link to ImageMagick) The incorrect versions of Imagemagick have no “Magick.exe” (and of course you want to download the correct version for your CPU). I downloaded “7.0.10-40-portable-Q16-x64” (and put the entire folder in program files) 8. I noticed there is a 2nd menu setting screen on the radio in OpenTX under System > Tools (1st Tab) > Yaapu Maps. There is an option to set the most-zoomed in (“zoom level”) (eg -2 or -1) here as well, so I’m not sure if there can be a conflict with the executable menu in the 2nd tab under “SCRIPTS”, but it’s worth noting that this might cause problems for some people. I hope this helps out some other folks! Good luck and enjoy!

Two things, first of all, the Tim in the comments is a spam bot and not a real person, that account is spamming hundreds of channels at the moment. However I have not used a flysky RX so I cant say from personal experience. Hope that helps.
@@builtfromhome9207 flysky rx's have telem and all supported sensors like temp, rpm, altitude ect ect will show as they should on the t16 but i was not aware of any way to feed telem from another source into the rx for transmission and although flysky put support for a GPS module into the RX firmware and into some of their tx's, it seems they never actually made the sensor itself lol . done some research and there is a workaround, using an arduino micro or nano you can emulate ibus sensors from mavlink telemetry :) I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising, because the RX supports the non existent GPS module flysky never made, it can be emulated and 'should' feed the t16 the required data but it will be without compass data so no heading triangle if it does work.

My understanding is whats on the github page "It supports Ardupilot, iNAV, Crossfire and whatever FC or firmware that can send GPS info to OpenTX" So if your able to send Telemetry to your openTX radio and have those values displayed there as shown and explained in my video then yes it should work. However I have not used a flysky RX so I cant say from personal experience. Hope that helps.
@@builtfromhome9207 flysky rx's have telem and all supported sensors like temp, rpm, altitude ect ect will show as they should on the t16 but i was not aware of any way to feed telem from another source into the rx for transmission and although flysky put support for a GPS module into the RX firmware and into some of their tx's, it seems they never actually made the sensor itself lol .
done some research and there is a workaround, using an arduino micro or nano you can emulate ibus sensors from mavlink telemetry :)
I haven't tried it yet but it looks promising, because the RX supports the non existent GPS module flysky never made, it can be emulated and 'should' feed the t16 the required data but it will be without compass data so no heading triangle if it does work.
another point u said to copy 0,1&2, should be 0, -1 & -2
imagemajick is an old unix utlil and is pronounced image (as in the picture) magic, as in it does magic on images.
