This is one of my favorite zen tangle designs you’ve done. The name is awesome, the tone of your voice, the way you teach and leave room for individual techniques of creating this tangle. Excited to try this new one today.😃👍💯 Thank you!
The tile is beautiful. My favorite part of any tangle is doing the shading, and I learned a thing or two from you in this video. I do hope you recognize the compliment I'm giving you when I say you have a delightful voice, and I was imagining you sitting in a library in front of a fireplace, several young children sitting in front of you on cushions, listening to you raptly as you read a story to them. Not to worry---I'm an elderly woman right in the very middle of the Midwest US. I used to write stories for my son when he was a little boy, and I did all the voice characterizations for the different people in each story. My voice isn't a soft pleasant one like yours, unfortunately, as my vocal chords were severely damaged by illness in my mid-30s. If I had a lovely voice like yours, I'd be volunteering to read to children here in our local library. I look forward to watching more of your videos and to learning more good ideas on tangling. I've been doing it since early 2012, but I learn something new all the time.
My first time on your YTube channel and I'm in love with not only the beauty of your art, but also your lovely voice as you draw. I'm completely relaxed and inspired after watching you, Zenjo. I might even give it a try :):) Thank you kind lady.
Welcome! I'm grateful for your lovely words and comment. I hope that you have not only 'given it a try' but explored more and created. There is so much to learn with Zentangle beyond the 'art'. 💖
I used to cover my high school notebooks with these doodles! Didn't know they had names. Didn't know it was an art form. I'm enjoying your videos and trying my hand at this pen work again.
There is a whole world of Zentangle out here, Claire! 😊 I think we all covered the covers of our school books with doodles. There is a difference between Zentangle and Doodling, though. Doodling is something we tend to do mindlessly when thinking about something else, on the phone etc. Zentangle is a mindful artform where we focus on the process of drawing each stroke, one line at a time. It's often described as Yoga for the brain. I'll soon be offering, on my website www.zenjo.uk, full 2 hour video classes which will enable me to teach, support and guide people on a lot more tangles & techniques. These classes will include a beginners Introduction to Zentangle class and a follow-on series of Understanding Zentangle classes to consolidate what you have learned and build up your confidence to explore your own Zentangle experience. These TH-cam videos give you a taste of what is possible. 😍
❣Pretty. I like the idea you had to draw a shadow "vine" behind the little seed sprouts in the center section. (Little seed sprouts, is what they look like to me.)
The 'shadow' shading is just one of the techniques I teach on my more in-depth shade with confidence class. It adds a different dimension to certain tangles. Yes, Fescu looks like little seedlings. 🌱😍
I recently taught my granddaughter the boofont and she loved it! I can see the fescue being a lovely filler. Will have to give the diva dance a go! Very rose-like, my girls will love that. They’ve been frustrated trying to expand beyond the basic Daisy type florals.
Kids absolutely love Zentangle. 💗 I think that your granddaughter will find many more tangles, including non floral ones, that they will love. There are literally 1000s of potential tangle patterns to choose from but I would always encourage people (of all ages!) to keep things simple and enjoy the process of creating. Zentangle is non representational, so it doesn't have to look like anything. I will soon be offering, on my website full, 2 hour video classes. These will enable me to support, guide and teach the concept of the Zentangle Method, more tangles and techniques in more depth. These shorter TH-cam videos give you a taste of what is possible and what I can offer. 🤩 PS: Fescu (Fess Que 😂) is one of my favourites!
Do you mean that you struggle with the shading? I can help with that as I have a specific Shade with Confidence class. Mind you, it might be that your cat has actually pooped on the Axminster....if so I hope the clean up went well!! :-)
Hi Joyce, I am so pleased hat you enjoy the videos. Unfortunately I have no control over the commercials that TH-cam add to the listing. I totally understand how annoying they can be and I'd very much prefer that they weren't there.
Great tile...enjoyed watching the process! Thanks for sharing!

Fess Q ;) at least in the Midwest USA
It can be 'whatever you want it to be'! 😉😂
Who knows the song (and the movie it was in) that "Rock n Roll Diva Dance" is referencing? 🎤🧞♀️
