LeTurneau was an amazing inventor. I have several examples of blades on Caterpillar tractors from the company. They never stuck with one design long it was constantly improving. Always experimenting and always on The Cutting Edge of the equipment industry. Pun intended, 😁.
Hi, Lads and hope all is well with you. I never got around any of these rigs and might never saw one as I can remember. The big Michigans were the ones used for pan pushers along with the 9's with cushion blades. Thanks because RG sure came up with some interesting stuff. CHEERS!
At the Nat'l Pike Steam, Gas and Horse Association in Brownsville, PA there is a running Model C Tournadozer currently under minor repairs. A few years ago I had the opportunity to watch this tractor push-load a 1940's Letourneau scraper. Back in 1954-55 the now defunct toy manufacturer Ny-Lint released a very nice 1/16-scale example of the Tournatractor-dozer. And around 1959 toy manufacturer Hubley also made a small scale plastic model of the Tournadozer for two years.
