JOSH , GREAT VIDEO ..!!!! THANK YOU FOR ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO ...!!!!!! YOU ARE A STRAIGHT SHOOTER ..!!!! HONEST AND TELL IT LIKE IT IS ...!!! .. DOUBLE G HERE ...!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND VIDEOS , LOVE TO SEE THOSE TIGHT GROUPS...!!!!!!!!!!!!
The "Ammo Battle" series is awesome! Keep it up. I just ordered 9 different lots of Eley Match & 5 different lots of Eley Tenex to try out in my Bergara... hope it shoots just as well.
Thanks for the video. I am setting my MTR with tuner up to shoot eley match because it is hard to find midas+ for the price I am willing to pay. I have enough midas + to run me through the rest of BR matches this year. You need to start a CZ club.
@@PursuitofAccuracy a big thank you, I just received the eley match EPS german select I really can't wait to try them and great job your ammunition test (sorry for my english but i'm french) ;)
I have an MTR and like your cheek rest. Where did you get that and did it fit correctly or did you modify it? I assume there’s screws down the top to hold it.
@@PursuitofAccuracy Thank you. I have basically the same rig minus your forearm rail. I also have the Lilja barrel, threaded, as I have a can. Still playing with ammo but some old Lapua Midas L is unbelievable. I just don’t have much left.
I know you did this video a long time ago, but find a lot of value in it still, as I just picked up a varmint MTR and threw an ARKEN ep5 on it. What Velocity Eley match doesn’t like the best and how much faith do you put in the velocity written in the label? I also line in NC and would love to shoot with you sometime. Keep up the great work!
Good info. I just got a CZ 457 MTR 16" trainer, been shooting all types of match ammo. I just shot the eley match also today for the first time. I was getting the same SD as you. But I did have a couple light primer strikes. Do you have a higher power firing pin spring in your rifle?
Everything is factory in the bolt. Are you running the factory barrel? Eley is kind of known for people getting light strikes with them depending on the barreled action
I have the CZ 457 Varmint MTR so I appreciate you doing this so I can consider your results when buying ammo This begs the question that maybe Lapua test center process doesn’t help find the best ammo for it

I like your channel, just found it. I think you would have improvement in groups with more secure target stands. Your targets are very often moving with the wind and the impact from your previous round.
great video , a shoot at 6 months 22 lr. and i have a cz mtr 22lr , mine is threaded , i shoot bench rest 50 with a caldwell b rock front rest and seb rear , with a sightron s2 , and what a rifle , the guys here uses more anschutz , walhter , and turbo actions with schillen ratchet , etc. , one guy here tells the cz barrell it is so good like lija barrell , what can you tell about this ? thank s , and i learn a lot about ammo , etc in this video !
What velocities were you getting using the MTR barrel? Just chrono mine and it was 1145 avg….is that too fast? Chambered a round and ejected it to find markings on the bullet from being jammed into the rifling…. Any advice?
1145 is a little faster than what I like. 1100 fps and below is what I try and run, although sometimes its faster. The engravings are normal and a good thing. You want the bullet engaging the rifling as its chambered
@@birdman8480 it may compared to a bentz or sporter chamber but the lead on 22lr is very soft and easily engraved by the rifling, not a cause for concern
This wasnt intended to be a lilja vs mtr barrel. It depends on ammo. The lilha consistently is more accurate across lots of ammo. Sometimes the lilja beats the mtr by a small margin and sometimes a huge margin
@@PursuitofAccuracy Thank you a worthwhile comparison all the same. I would think each would have their own preference for make of ammo instead of same brand like for like. So next step would be a test with each barrel and their preferred ammo comparison. Cheers

Great vid, love the 22lr, a little but closer to see clearly the group could be perfect
