Yes I most definitely agree with you on that. I watched Fantasias performance tribute to Patti Lebelle when she performed "MY Friend" and Fantasia killed it. I mean she "Killed It" like nobody's business and I felt every single bit of her performance.

I had the opportunity to see Miss Patti at the Essence Fest in New Orleans and I witnessed her rolling on the floor and kicking off her shoes on stage. Love me some Patti.

Patti LaBelle has number ones that can never be challenged. The bluebells was the first black R&B girl group to have a headline singer. The first black R&B girl group to be televised live in the U.K.. the first R&B girl group to have a member leave for another rival girl group. The first black glam rock girl group. The first black R&B girl group to perform at the Metropolitan Opera House. The first black R&B girl group to appear on Rolling Stone magazine.
They fail to mention these facts on these Award Shows.(The Bluebelles & LaBelle) laid the foundation for girl groups of the 60's

Thank you for this documentary about Patti. Even though I never was a fan and I never really liked her I don't know why.but I'm not a hater Patti can sing her ass off that's a fact she I do like afew sings here and there but I'm not a fan.Patti fans DONT be or get at me please it's just my opinion.I like, chaka Khan,Mary j blige,Tina Turner,adele, lady GaGa,some of Diana's music,Beyonce, Janet Jackson Angela bofill,phillis human,Anita Baker,Jody waltley Whitney houston. And who exactly even calls her Patricia....that YOU know of??? 🤔 If you notice, the narrator uses "Patsy" when she's telling the early part of the story because that's what she was going by at that time. Later on in the story she uses Patti BECAUSE that's what she was going by at that time in her life.
