Picked up a Bruin about 8yrs ago. Excellent pistol. Diamond D made a very comfy custom owb holster. Its my first choice for single track riding. Most of my stoppages have been mag related, mark your mags and if you notice an issue with one it may require massaging. Only had issues with 1 mag so far. Nearing 1100rds of mostly underwood and other max loads. Razor Dobbs used to hunt all sorts of critters with a razorback. Very capable pistol.
Hey Chuck, hope all is well. Looks like a great option. Would be interesting to see a comparison between it and a Delta Elite... still think I would go with a G40 for real world defense. Thanks for the info.
@AlaskanBallistics yeah, 30 years ago as a young man, they were prevelant... and reasonably priced. Seem to be in hindsight the gold standard. The G40 seems to be the modern Gold Standard. Still, Great video, maybe somebody will recreate the Delta in the 2020's ???? Thanks Chuck, God bless.
@AlaskanBallistics Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25 But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are might... 1 Corinthians 1:27 So how is the 45acp not the Lord's caliber? OK, I may have taken those passages out of context a little. Lol
@@AlaskanBallistics I have seen lights & dots fly off . I think a light on a lanyard would also work . If the attack is so fast a person has no time to draw , I don't think you have time to fumble for the light switch . I am OK with a light , I have a mini O light on a lanyard to my belt loop , I use it all the time . As you know , just a joke , but I do think less is more at times . As much as I like the 1911 , I think the DA/SA 10mm SIG or G20/G40 is the best choice . No safety to mess with & second strike with the SIG , I rate as #1 .
This will be chukes bear defense gun for a week before he switches back to something else
Correct!

The bruin is my dream 10mm!
I wish CZ made 10mm DA/SA. Dan Wesson is great but a regular CZ would be absolutely amazing...
A 97b in 10mm would be the bees knees
Stainless 10mm can't go wrong !
True
Great guns, I have the colt delta elite 10mm. 1911 10mms are great. There's a guy who hunts cape Buffalo with a dan wesson 10mm named razor dobbs
Yeah I've seen that
He has taken almost every species in Africa with the 10mm.
@stevenhigby3512 it works
Assuming he loads his own rounds for that?
@JuanGonzalez-cl4md . No he uses double tap ammo. Underwood and Buffalo bore is better though. You can hunt deer and alot of stuff with 10mm
AB. Good video. Nice gun. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thank You Bobcat!
Nice 1911 always wanted a dan wesson 10mm.
The loose rear sight is a bit of a concern not good for a self defense or bear gun.
Yeah that was weird.
Chuck was right. A good gunsmith can repair that issue. I've seen plenty of modern optics do the same...
👍👍beautiful pistol, thanks for sharing Chuck.
Thank You for watching
Love my Dan Wessons!
I bet. They're awesome
At least we have an idea how accurate this weapon is and how reliable it is with various ammo. Thanks for sharing.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Nice! If I had that along with my 6.8 Western, I could stop buying guns... maybe not.😅
Ha. Be careful, that's almost blasphemy
@@AlaskanBallistics I had a moment, but I'm okay now.
@montanamusings lol me too
Pretty nice I just don't like capacity do they even make a 13+ mag for those
It's a single stack so 10+1 Wilson mags are the best you can

Yep g40 is the way to go. Wish I had access to a colt Delta elite

@martinhorst1858 maybe someday I can afford a colt Delta elite
It absolutely is a NICE piece BUT is it really $1300 better than a standard Glock 20? Is it really better than your glock 40 with the KKM barrel?
It's slightly more accurate than the g40 and feels better in the hand... 1300 bucks better? No
@@AlaskanBallistics Thank-you
No thank You!
Lord's caliber is the 45acp. You can find that in 2 Opinions 19:11.
Lol the Lord isn't weak like 45 auto.

@LGB-FJB lol just a little...
OK so ... No Dot ... No holes in the barrel or slide ... No Bipod ... No Light ... Thanks About time we get back to real .
Lol... how are you going to see that bear attacking you in the dark without a light?
