i did the thing! but a thought came to me, have you done anything on thee character akabane from getbackers? seems right up your alley, and he's my fav character from that long forgotten anime.
One minor detail about Guts that makes him all the more special. He knows what's waiting for him when he dies. He's seen Hell with a capital H, not just figurative like with the Eclipse. He knows that when he dies, all that waits for him is a spot in the writhing sea of raging souls that seek only to pull more in to join their suffering. He knows that his life has been utter agony, his death will be utter agony, and his afterlife will be utter agony. And yet he struggles. He continues to struggle, just for a chance. For one little shot at having something good in his existence. He struggles to survive, struggles to keep his loved ones safe, struggles to even keep himself in check. He struggles to live.
Honestly the mental breakdown of Gon is properly my favorite part of the chimera ant arc, like seeing a shonen brat become consumed by their own hatred is truly a something to remember.😺
At first I thought it was ridiculous how Gon was going berserk over a guy he just met, but reading the manga helped flesh out his relationship with Kite and by extension, his breakdown I also love how it is inverse of Meruem's development from a monster to a more humanized person
@Voitan that's the popular animation thing on TH-cam with the dudes in big armor right? I've only seen a tine biit of war hammer And a bit of lore About this like technological right who didn't start with something the others races did and has this system they people people into
Lelouch V Britannia definitely deserves a joker arc given how broken he becomes yet keeps going. Then to self actualize your dissolution to bring world peace now that’s an ending.
Honestly when it comes to going against your morals, suzaku arguably has a bigger joker arc. Ironically also sparked from Euphy's death all though his joker arc goes through 2 stages since the real negation of character comes when he joins zero and helps lead to the deaths of millions of innocent enslaved people all sacrificed for his and lelouch's plan.
The analisis of Kaneki's part is pretty good, but believe me when i say you need to read the Tokyo Ghoul manga, not only for better understanding of the "joker arc", but cuz it's for real just DAMN GOOD, MAN. There's a lot going on that got simplified in the anime even in season 1, and sadly, that whole arc was one of the victims of it. If you ever have time give it a read, it's worth it.
Nux wants us all to believe he's some evil mastermind like Iago, manipulating everyone and never getting his hands dirty. But he's just Kyogai, a poetic softboy that's kinda bad.
Gintama is a masterpiece for me. Sure the comedy can be goofy and is not for everyone, but the moments that are serious hit even harder and show the bonds the characters have.
Crazy about the Tokyo Ghoul manga it hints that Jason cut kaneki’s Achilles to be violated day after day. So when he was beating Jason it was beautiful seeing him get done the way he was. “Shut up and listen just like that… I’m talking” then proceeds to break half of Ayato’s bones. Wish the anime did the whole scene. He was a menace, it was definitely my favorite revenge glow up in TG.
THIS. My favorite scene in TG is when he breaks half of Ayato's bones. It's so well executed and terrifying. You can really see how deep he has sanped and the extent of his insanity. Because with Jason it could be labeled as self-defense, a response to his torture. But in Ayato's case was purely overkill. He did it cause he wanted to, cause he was free of his shackles and could unleash his anger towards whoever he had before him. Just beautiful. I love this scene
The thing about Jack is that he simple took the alias of the real Jack the Ripper, whom he killed, because he found the title fitting due to having killed his mother. The Jack we know was a killer who simply wanted to see fear wash over all other colors of one’s emotion, but he truly cared about people, he defended the weak and innocent and targeted the sick and twisted
As someone who got into Gintama based off seeing how deeply you revered it, I am extremely happy to see it in this video, after I finished it, (outside of just wanting more episodes) all I wanted was to see you talk about it for a bit! So shoutout to you Nux, I’m glad you put Kagura on this list 🙌🏽
Kaneki's need to protect his family at Anteiku was so extreme that he turned himself into a monster that, in the end, could kill that same family. His Joker arc may have been confusing, but it's only because he didn't get a chance to be himself. Someone was always manipulating him from Rize, to Aogiri Tree, to the CCG wiping his memory to hunt his family. And the only time he gets a fleeting chance to freely love everything gets ripped from him. Turning him into a mutual enemy to unite both worlds that only he (at that point) could see.

Character analysis from Nux makes the world a smarter and more cultured place. This really is your divine calling. They're even better when covering one character. Makes you feel like you MUST watch the series
I don't know if it quite qualifies as a joker arc but a lot of these remind me of suzaku from code geass. When he finally decides to abandon his morals and use anything at his disposal to achieve his new goal it's effectively a joker arc when you consider what that entails and condones. He's party to a plan that involves enslaving millions of people to use as human shields against nukes. This from the person that always sought to change the system from within by following the rules and specifically that the ends do not justify the means. The great part here though is that really, he was always willing to do whatever needed to be done but when he killed his own father to stop the war he became overcome with guilt and tried to lock that part of himself away. We see when he embraces it and his goals and methods finally align with lelouch, thats all the power needed to overcome everything else in the story. Man, code geass is such a masterpiece.
The Jack part could go deeper if you read the spinoff series that focuses on Jack and his past. It reveals a lot, still a very twisted character but it reveals many secrets and why he would choose to fight for humanity in the first place.
The thing that's hunting about the naruto bit is in the manga. The fox is telling him to remove the seal, and there it is: *that* panel. That blank, almost hypnotized, stare with the faintest trace of evil grin, and the "thump" of naruto slowly walking to the cage and starting to undo the seal. All the other times naruto was fighting back against the monster. Not this time. This time he fully embrace it. He WANTS it. "Just burn everything to the ground, just destroy him". That panel is the embodiment of the lowest point for naruto, the moment where he just gave up all hope and just wanted vengence...
Honestly the Joke/breaking point arc are among my favorite, it's like the main character's mind shatters and unleashes all his hatred and tension and becomes a "monster" I'm actually writing a web novel where certain characters' minds shatters beyond the point of insanity

I skipped the Kaguya part cause I wanna finish Gintama first. But yea honestly Guts got blasted with shit and just keeps going. The best part about Kaneki going white haired is telling his torturer (in the manga it had been going on for weeks) that he tasted foul.
Bud, I beg, and I’m dead serious. You should read Tokyo Ghoul, not only does it make more sense but the art is great. Although I should warn you the end of TG re may be a little rushed but the author (sui ishida) was also rushed and was having so many irl problems. But I beg of you to read it because it holds a special place in my heart

Nux you are a legend and a God. This video was 🔥 and straight up. Whether you wrote the scrip yourself or someone wrote it for you, I have to tell you, the writing made this vid 10000000x better. Keep it up king
When kaneki snap his hair didnt change all at once it slowly change as slowly loses his sanity until thatbone patch of black hair the moment before he snapped and had the convo with riza, chef kiss
In regards to Tokyo Ghoul: It's 1000 - 7, and Kaneki didn't kill Jason, he ate part of him and left him for dead. Juuzou found Jason alive, and finished the job.
Once again, an absolute banger of a vid, my Lord. enjoying the hell out of this peak content. might even go down on a bingin rabbithole of some of the older stuff^^
Nux that laugh at the beginning was perfectly insane and I'll tell you someone who went on a joker arc and that is Dostoevsky from Bungo Stray Dogs that man is out of pocket and crazy
Gintama is top 5 of all time to me, I will watch any anime that Gintoki’s VA is in, and I can’t believe you get such a deep show from the general insanity that is Gintama
I’m happy for some Tokyo ghoul love as it’s one of my all time favorite series manga included nux you should read the manga as it’s more cohesive than the anime and it also has more context as the anime tends to cut some stuff out
Anyone watch this who hasn't seen Mob Psycho 100. I highly recommend it. It's in my top 3 not sure if it's #1 or even which of my top 3 are #1 BUT Mob Psycho 100% currently is the anime I recommend the most out of any anime. Not matter who you are.
I thought Hisoka would be your final choice and the you went Berserk on the concept of being broken and you broke through the concept to reach the zenith of being broken to the point that you stand anew. What a beautiful ark, you are an overpowered anime character done right. Peace out Nux. And I am definitely up for a number 2 broken characters done right.
40:56Yeah her tribe has to be the strongest in the Galaxy because even if a girl got turned into a man the amount of pain you will feel from ripping off your twin brother or your best friend or your second head ain't no way you wouldn't feel that pain unless you were drugged what the same medicine they use to put you under when you getting surgery just hearing this even though it was a joke and it really happened in the anime me and my crotch hurt💯😅😅😱😱😱😱😱😱
Tempted to put my own ome forward so I'm going to. I'd like to draw your attention to Sirin from Honkai impact. An orphan taken to schicksal's Babylon lab as the 52nd experimental body. She endured torturous human experimentation, resulting in her forming a Herrscher core. Her first order of business was to execute every researcher in the facility and eventually moved onto the rest of humanity, casually chucking meteors at earth from the moon. While it's not as Joker arc-y as the stuff on this list i wanted to make people aware of this and while i am well aware that i handwaved a lot, I'm not about to drop the play by play of the second honkai war in a yt comment, there is a manhwa of these events anyway that Is a very good read.
Berserk is one of the greatest stories I have ever read.. But I can't recommend it to new anime viewers. It's a rough story one you gotta be ready for. I let them find it.... Or will recommend it after they have watched some shows.
I don't know if you'll ever read this, but I want to suggest two caracters from the Orignal Saint Seiya anime that go through their own joker arcs. There are a couple more, but these two are the most meaningful ones. Also, english isn't my native language, so if somethis is wrong, please patience. Phoenix Ikki. One of the main protagonists. An older brother that only wanted to protect his younger sibling, his only family, the best way he could, even going as far as getting sent to the supposed hell on earth so he wouldn't be in such a dark place. In Saint Seiya, you have this group of teens (they're all between 13 and 16 years old) that have to fight agains gods to protect their own goddess, that is Athena, the supposedly only deity that loves and wants to protect humanity. The members of the main group were orphans chosen and sent to various places in the world to train and become Saints to protect this goddess. His brother was going to be sent to the Death Queen's Island, which was said to be hell on Earth. Ikki didn't want that, so he offered himself to go. There was some discussion, but in the end, he was sent there. And that's when tragedy starts. You see, as bad as Death Queen's Island was, the TRUE hell on Earth was Andromeda Island, where his brother was sent. He was tricked because the guy making the selection didn't like him, at all, so he wanted to make him suffer as much as he could. When he gets in the island, it only gets worse, as his master beats him to a pulp. Every. Single. Day. For five years, he trains with this masked guy that you could call the devil himself, but he doesn't give up, since he wants to go back to his brother and the only way to do so was becoming a Saint. His only relief is Emerald, a kind, gentle girl who he fell in love with, and had a nature akin to his brother, which made him renew his determination each day to become a Saint and go back to his brother. She's his master's daughter, so he wants to bring her back with him, since she also suffers in the man's hand, although she says that he used to be kind. One day, he's training with his master, that's really trying to and going to kill him. He dodges an attack, but Emerald, who was watching them in the distance gets hit and dies in Ikki's eyes. His master doesn't care about his own daughter's death, calling her stupid, weak and useless (or something along those lines). This enrages Ikki so much that he snaps. He attacks his master, but not to defeat him, but to kill. And kill him he does. He kills his master the same way that man killed his own child. And that way, Ikki is granted access to his Cloth, the Phoenix Cloth, that was never once worn by anyone before Ikki, and would be worn by no one after him. Ikki becomes the embodiment of rage and hatred. He returns to his homeland, where he meets his brother and eight other children who survived the saint training (there were a hundred originally, but now only ten are left). Ikki attacks everyone, including his own brother. His enemy is the world itself, and he'll kill anyone who stands in his way to become stronger. In the end, he's saved by the power of love and friendship, but what's interesting is that he doesn't change back. Ikki, ever since he was a kid, was the one with the most potential to become a saint (and is usually declared to be the strongest of the five MCs), but he was also the most aggressive of the orphans, if it meant to protect his brother. He didn't hit others because he was mean, but if his brother was hurt, he would come flying to kick you in the face. Regardless, he still had a pretty good relationship with the others, as a kid. After the training and being "saved", Ikki... didn't hang out with the others anymore. He usually stayed distant, alone. He would come when he was needed and when everything was done (and he was healed), he goes about his way. The other MCs usually ask where he is, but his brother never knows. Ikki is as ruthless, and a bit arrogant from when he turned, but most importantly, he is a lone wolf. I'm a particular fan of the show, but even now I don't know what to make of Ikki's distance. It may be because he doesn't think he's worthy of staying by their side, or he thinks he doesn't fit in, because even if every bronze saint went through equally hellish trainings, Ikki's training was more like a torture, a living nightmare that he endured for years, and that came to an end when his love died, taking a part of him. He still cares about the others, especially his brother, since he only shows up when his brother is about to get killed. But he shows his care for the other three by making them stand up on their own, not rely on others, because he may appear where they need him the most by luck, but what if he doesn't? They would simply die? As simple and as shallow the Saint Seiya characters and story are, these subtle traits of the characters are fantastic. The next one will be in the coments, because this part is already too long, and there's still things I haven't talked about Ikki, but won't spend anymore time on him. I already wrote enough to get my point.
Benetnash Mime. One of the seven God Warrior of Odin. One of the main villains of Asgard Arc, that only exists in anime. A man that endured a cold hell along with his people, but suffered a terrible trauma by the one that, at the same time. took everything from him and raised him. Mime is one of the villains of Saint Seiya that I love the most. He's pretty different from your usual villain. He has a more... delicate appearance to him? If we were to compare to our MCs, he gives off the same vibes as Ikki's brother, Shun, that is the kindest and the most delicate of the main group. Mime doesn't seem particularly powerful nor agressive. During his fight with Shun, he's usually calm and collected. He may raise his voice in surprise and stuff, but never in anger. He doesn't even seem anger. Shun's chain, that detects the presence of enemies, doesn't react to him, even if he's actively trying to turn Shun to shreds! He's just naturally calm and equally as deadly. He talks about killing Shun as if he's talking about the weather! And he also spoke of how he killed his step father, that had killed his bio parents and taken him in, once he discovered the truth! It's really, strange! Even Ikki, when he comes to save Shun, has a hard time with him, because of that! So, how did Ikki even up the ground to fight him? Well... he basically pissed him off good! You see, Ikki has his "secret technique" that's called Ghost Phoenix Attack, that's basically a mental attack that destroys the enemy's mind and spirit. Ikki used this on Mime and we saw his full past. He remembers how angry he was when he killed his step father, but also remembers of how dearly his step dad cared for him when he was sick, even putting himself in danger just to save his life. He remembers how he didn't mean to kill his bio parents, that he left his bio father at his house's footsteps and tried to walk away, and his bio dad tried to continue the fight and he reacted to defend himself, but an attack that was only meant to hit his bio father also hit bio mother. He remembers that despite of how cruel and cold he was to Mime in his training, he continues to tell Mime to grow and become a great man and warrior. He wanted to compensate the boy and his parents by turning him into a good person. Mime lost his mind when he discovered he was adopted and the man he thought his whole life to be his dad was the one who murdered his real parents. However, the moment he truly snapped, was when Ikki told him: "You don't hate your step father because of what he did! You hate yourself because you killed the man that raised you, that loved and cared for you as a son, that you loved and still loves as a father!" That's the moment when Shun's chains finally react to Mime as he raises his voice in anger saying that he'll kill Ikki. Like Ikki, in my opinion, Mime passed through a pretty bad trauma, and the way of coping with it was lying to himself and forgetting all the good stuff about his past. In the end, he's still a good man. Before his death, he accepts his sin, and decides to fight Ikki, not because of his rage, but because he was a God Warrior of Odin, a protector of Asgard, and as a man and warrior raised by his father, he should fulfill his duty of protecting that land and its people, even if he died in the process. His last wish as he died was to meet Ikki again, and become friends.
Damn I need to watch Gintama now, the whole thing about locking away the political beliefs or religious/nonreligious ones really rang true. The question of am I just hiding away a part of myself (not necessarily less accepted by society) that's less accepted within my social circles.
I'm so happy to get more of your video-essays. Had a withdrawal that was so hard, I even started listening to political commentary. (shudders) not proud of myself

7:35 that ending scene with mob got me yelling
Nux you are a legend and a God. This video was 🔥 and straight up. Whether you wrote the scrip yourself or someone wrote it for you, I have to tell you, the writing made this vid 10000000x better. Keep it up king
Also nux I’ve seen it and read it gintama and it’s also another favorite anime of mine it helped me through depression so it’s close to my heart too
When kaneki snap his hair didnt change all at once it slowly change as slowly loses his sanity until thatbone patch of black hair the moment before he snapped and had the convo with riza, chef kiss
In regards to Tokyo Ghoul: It's 1000 - 7, and Kaneki didn't kill Jason, he ate part of him and left him for dead. Juuzou found Jason alive, and finished the job.
You can do this with billy butcher from the boys as his abuse ended up making him the same as his abuser
Damn this was a great video. I love the concept of overcoming your own dark side so much, and wow Nux ended the video so magnificently with that idea.
Once again, an absolute banger of a vid, my Lord.
enjoying the hell out of this peak content.
might even go down on a bingin rabbithole of some of the older stuff^^
There is a good reason for the saying: Demons run when a good man goes to war
Mob psycho 100 was my 2nd favorite watch of all anime
Fate, show thy force; Ourselves we do not owe:
What is decreed must be; and be this so!
20:04 He loses sight is the perfect phrase for mustang after this
These are the Nix videos I fell in love with years ago! More of these, please! Mooooore! 🔥
"Some People just want to watch the World burn"
This kind of videos makes my heart flutter
I feel nux on Gintama. It's great but not enough people watched it.
Great vid btw
I’m happy for some Tokyo ghoul love as it’s one of my all time favorite series manga included nux you should read the manga as it’s more cohesive than the anime and it also has more context as the anime tends to cut some stuff out
I appreciate blood blockade battlefront playing in the start of the video, I know what I’m watching now after zom 100 and jujutsu kaisen
Anyone watch this who hasn't seen Mob Psycho 100.
I highly recommend it. It's in my top 3 not sure if it's #1 or even which of my top 3 are #1 BUT
Mob Psycho 100% currently is the anime I recommend the most out of any anime. Not matter who you are.
What are the odds Nux used ChatGPT to create the poem parts of his script lmao.
I respect this Channel
Because only this channel has given Gintama the love it deserved ❤
Haven’t seen your videos in a hot minute I’m glad I can in on this video, also the picture of Subaru was scary af
When nux mignikly laugh's you know it would be amazing
Banger vid so far. Love the content nux
it saddens me to see your channel being shadow banned. the quality of these analytical video essays are insane. you even made a poem for the intros
Another great video by Nux. Standing ovation for the man of the hour.....Nux!
Definitely fooled me when you spoke about Naruto and then came outta nowhere with Sasuke lol. I did not see that coming lol.
Been ages since I watched something from Nux that's like this, this kind of content is why I've subscribed to this channel.
Content like this is why I'm subscribed
I thought Hisoka would be your final choice and the you went Berserk on the concept of being broken and you broke through the concept to reach the zenith of being broken to the point that you stand anew. What a beautiful ark, you are an overpowered anime character done right. Peace out Nux. And I am definitely up for a number 2 broken characters done right.
We don't ride spiders to work, there's just enough of them in my car to carry it
I heard the laugh at the beginning, and I knew we were in for a good one. 😎
I been gone for too long. But it is nice to see you have done nothing but get better nux .. magnificent. yes. yeees
My man nux writing poems over here, whole ass bars
The best Joker arc is Char, but only because he is a morally grey character who tries to be better, but eventually dies a villain.
Gintama is awesome. Nice to see another fan.
This video is really, really good, I Hope to see more of this in the future.
Bruh Kagura is a f-ing super sayan, but without the hair change lol.
Nux saving the best for last, you have my respect sir.
Your laugh at beginning was menacing
Bro his Rhymes are awesome
Thanks for this holy shit this was delightful
God I’m so flustered, Is nux returning to his glory days?? Hurray!
Moral of the Story: Don’t piss off the nice guys in anime.
Damn I need to watch Gintama now, the whole thing about locking away the political beliefs or religious/nonreligious ones really rang true. The question of am I just hiding away a part of myself (not necessarily less accepted by society) that's less accepted within my social circles.
Record of ragnarok description was amazing 😂
This has been a brilliant video. Well worth spending the time experiencing it.
I'm so happy to get more of your video-essays. Had a withdrawal that was so hard, I even started listening to political commentary. (shudders) not proud of myself
13:32 Aussies casually riding spiders on their everyday lives is now my personal head cannon and no one can change my mind
