I first seen him watching fiba this year but assumed he was only benefiting from the overwhelming talent on that USA team has. Seeing this shows that he can translate his skills and I see how protectable he is. Really excited to see where he takes him game.

Coach, do you think, especially for like me as a small guard, that focusing on my defensive skills would help me out that much, because Brandon McCoy is a lengthy athlete and he can afford to be raw on offense, I have to have a tight handle, perfect shot, and heavy floater game, so should I put effort on defense at all?

You should absolutely put a lot of effort into playing defense, no matter how good you are as a scorer if you can’t defend you’re automatically a target as a small guard. The higher levels you go, being a pest on defense will only make you more valuable & make it harder for coaches not to play you over guys who may be similarly talented on offense but don’t put effort in on defense

@@JoseIsMadAtYou i’m not a coach but the main things I would focus on are being the most elite offensive player possible bc every small player gets targeted on D pretty much regardless. but get really strong in your core and lower body if you can and really get fluid moving your hips and all parts of your body to weird angles. that’s what i would suggest generally
