They were spectacular performers who really knew how to relate to an audience. I completely understand wanting to keep that joy with you. Walking home from Paul's show in 1990, I was hoarse from singing with him--just the joy of it. Nobody around us minded during the show because everybody was so into him. He had 60,000 people locked onto him for 2 hours. I've got a film of it in my head and can still feel that energy. Thanks for this interview...brought it all back yet again.
I don't get it.I'm a huge Beatle fan but Shea Stadium first show audio had to be recorded in a studio as the audience screams outshone the Beatles actual performance on stage.Unless there's a disclaimer its not worth watching and listening to the 'live' audio!
As you will have seen from the video, this is a new arthouse film about the Beatles at Shea stadium, not the performance of The Beatles which has already been released with Eight Days a Week.
He could still see the shapes of the actions, just wouldn't be able to focus fully. He copied what he was seeing a few hundred people do, which even with his eyesight was possible.
