I have almost the exact same skirt as in the style inspiration photo and I have never worn my chambray shirt with it. I'm so excited to give this look a try. Another good reason not to try too hard to exactly replicate the wardrobe is that this may be the work of a stylist who "designed" Olivia's look with her body type in mind. When I thought about it, I realized that if I'd been given an "assignment" to shop my closet for her style, I could do it. Great job. :) I have a more fitted dressy white dress that I just thrifted for $2.50 ( I looked it up and it retailed for $125) that I was wondering when and where I would wear it but I think the idea of throwing a denim shirt over it will do the trick to dress it down a little. I liked your styling better! That dress is gorgeous. You did a magnificent job recreating this look. IMO..A cropped denim jacket may work if a chambray blouse is not in one's wardrobe. I believe Olivia is more on the petite side. Her skirts/dresses will be longer. I am also petite...with long legs/short torso...and petite pants/skirts are too short for me. I have grown to like them longer as my legs have lost their tone. This is a good choice as the look can be adjusted to any woman's preferences!

Alyssa, same here. Always cold. Plus, when hot, I like to keep the glaring sun off my skin to protect it. I just wear light or gauzy type fabrics.

Your look was fine but whereas her look was more daywear yours was definitely more night/formal - I think cos of those shoes (I'm starting to think you're right about how much of an effect shoes have on an outfit)

Hi Cris! I dont know, i've never felt the need/never put it on my list! I'm also more of a pants person vs. skirts and dresses ... but that skirt featured is definitely a classic and it is a good basic for summer if you like skirts. :) Thank you for watching! xx
