FULL Visual History of Mercedes AMG! + Drifting 2020 C63S with Mr AMG!

- The Origin story of AMG!! Featured alongside the New C63 S Wagon, we will answer the question “What makes an AMG”!
And since it’s endgame week I’ll use the infinity stones to travel back in time with you!
We start in the year 1965, when Mercedes Benz just made the decision to discontinue all motorsport activities. And for two engineers, Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher how this crushing blow led to a special moment in 1967!! When AMG racing engine development is Founded. A meaning Aufrecht Melcher Grossaspach.
Fast forward to 1971 - and small AMG team managed to buy a used 300 SEL used for racing, and modified it further bringing the 6.6 V8 up to 6.8, widening the arches, lightening the weight and thus the Red Pig was born! The mighty AMG saloon won champion in its class and won second place overall, only because it needed to stop and refuel constantly. The Legend of the Red Pig was cemented, leading to the expansion of the small company!

I'm really surprised that you have so few subscribers. I bought my 2016 C63s partly due to your videos. And now that you say the V8 will no longer be used in this model, surely the value will increase.
After watching the video and him mentioning it, i'm leaning more towards a 2017c63s over a 2019 c43 now.
@@mattl9194 I tried a c450 some time back, which is similar to the c43, and found it was not even close to a 63. You're making the right choice there.

@@tomfarrell1933 Yes it does. the 6.2 sounded pretty good. The 4.0 TT brings 5x more drama. I have driven both models comprehensively and in no universe would I choose the 6.2. The 4.0 has it covered in every aspect. Low down torque, top end rush, sound, driveability and sound.
@@ozPanzer I own both. The newer 4.0 bi-turbo definitely doesn’t shit on the 6.2 n/a. The 6.2 is far more exciting in the higher RPM’s than the 4.0 bi turbo but the 4.0 delivers more low down torque, which makes it a better daily I guess.
Just very different animals & deliver their power very differently.

Fantastic video. I have an E63 wagon, I wish the C63 came to the USA... so sad, this wagon is mental (to quote you...). You nailed it, the exhaust note is addictive. Plus everything else.
