I love the clickbait..... so is the RS6 overrated? You never concluded? You said that the 0-60 times were going backwards but Audi are always very conservative. You should know this? As a daily driver of the RS6 from C6, C7 and now a C8, the bummer is the OPF exhaust deadeners. Mercedes have ignored this for 2019/20, so no wonder it sounds better that the C8. Lets wait until next year to see when Merc actually have to comply too? Btw forget the RS4, it's even more dumbed down that the last B8 version, V6 engine, quieter, less tech etc. Also, the rising B&O sound system tweeters are a £3k option - only available in the Audi Press car for some reason.
Fabulous video ! Mark. OK - so I had a C7 Litchfield RS6 for a few years, 730 BHP, and did over 100,000 miles. In 2022 I changed for a RS5. The RS5 is OK - but just not doing it for me. So about to change back to a 2022 RS6 again. Just want that V8 joy for another few years before the crazy world goes all EV. Looking to get an upgrade done by QSTuning soon afterwards (unless Litchfield are comfortable they can deal with the locked ECU).
Although the C8 is a thing of beauty, i have always admired all the previous gen’s understated looks. The new one is pretty but it’s a bit too showy in my opinion
The thing that let the C6 down was the gearbox. No doubt it was a massive leap forward over the ZF5 from the C5 but I would really love to see what a C6 could do with the close ratio, quick shifting 8-speed from the C7. I hope someone one day will make that swap.
Considering the review from Throttle House where the guys demonstrate how easy it is to tune to over 700hp, Audi have no excuse at all for not giving this car even only 20 more horses. It's been said that a sportier RS6 is coming, but there's no sight of it yet, so what's going on with Audi?
The exhaust tone, while muted, is worlds better than the latest E63 and M5 which is why out of the three I'm shopping for the RS6 even though it's the slowest by a fair margin. Looks the best too and if I'm going to be giving up the shout of my SVR V8, the RS6 seems to have the most soul in its segment.
@@jimmaey Yea, the E63 typically needs bigger turbos to get into the mid 700s with RennTech. Hopefully the RS6 is friendly to tune....it was a nightmare tuning my S5 back in 2014 with the supercharged V6 haha
CapnT trust me , my friend has the previous rs6 model and just tuned it with a milltek exhaust and an tune and it pushed 740 horsepower and he could of gone up but he didnt want to blow up the differential on the car.
Blows the E63’s into the reeds............I’d tie one over any Merc. Any Day. Love it..... One question when you showed the C7 - and your right about the sweet spot, why didn’t you give the stats for the Performance version with 605hp ?
Dude, your historical references and comparisons are amazingly done. To have them switch back and forth like that is exactly how every other car reviewers should do it. This gives you a better sense of scale of each variation. I agree with your assertion of the rolly Polly SUV's they are just a waste of space and material in every way. If you are going to get an SUV then get a Toyota land Cruiser ;) Wagon's are so 1970's here in the U.S. Volkswagen made a Passat wagon but they never quite took off. VolVo for years has made a wagon but again it was in a very niche category of 6 figure incomes and 3 kids and they were just butt fugly. I thought Ford's Flex Wagon was neat but I think they went overboard with it's size and to me it screams too much money although they are fairly priced. So they over categorized the vehicle and placed it in the size range of an Explorer or a small tug boat. Let's talk about the tech in these cars. absolutely horrible, disgusting attempts to merge tech with a car. I understand that you are limited on space but everything needs to be on a single pane of glass meaning every control should be accessible there on the front screen. This maddening going back and forth pressing virtual buttons to have the damn display slide menus around is like playing those puzzles that you slide a single title around. Just maddeningly stupid. Then try doing that while you are driving and you have distracted driver overload. Did I mention finger prints? ugg just more silliness. Bring back the damn buttons and knobs! Let's get on to the car itself. Yes the sound is disappointing, If I am buying a sports wagon to me it's not a big deal. The power is there. Granted for 130k you would like to hear pops and gurgle's. Aftermarket is where you should be so don't opt for the sports exhaust, for the money you are going to spend on one go get an aftermarket one. Money better spent. Sometimes cars are just too uncouth with their exhaust sounds so there is a fine line between common decency and obnoxiousness. The cargo room is amazing and the automatic rear door along with the fact you can lower the back seats from pulling handles from the rear is very nicely done This is a car that does it well with looks, power and cargo hauling capacity.
I agree with you! The previous Rs6 is a much nicer looking car imo! It's kinda like the Nissan GTR when the latest gen shape got the sharp edges and it just didn't look as good!
this nardo grey with the black grill looks fantastic, curves of the body on the side/wheels are coming out much better compared to the boring standard RS6 colours black or daytony grey (these 2 represent approx. 80% of total orders....).
I reckon they’ve purposely underpowered it to entice people to buy the RS6 performance when it comes out. The previous gen RS6 performance had more power than this.
This shit is waaaaay too professional for a 360k channel lol. I assumed y’all were some huge channel I had never seen but I love the way you do your video

"can't see what's behind you" while referring to the front badge.... That's cause you don't need to see the rings. And let's be real... You'll be looking at the rear badge in short order 😉
Wouldn't buy one. But EXTREMELY nice car to have. Good looks, (if not getting a bit cartoonish now), fast and no doubt a competent handler with space and a few niceties and conveniences. Most over rated? Absolutely not and I don't know what is but the RS6 very likely deserves most of the accolades applied to it. Pick of the range for me is the C7.
C7 is not even in the same class. Garbage interior and fake supercar wannabe. The RS6 will sound much better with a small res delete that costs 100 bucks.
On paper, it looks like they wanted to limit the power. This car deserves 650 hp. However, it only applies if you want to race, for everyday it is more than enough. They just have to make the sound CRISP
I honestly have no idea I should buy this to replace the C7. They didn’t even make it faster like the M5 or E63S but this came out the latest. I’m just confused wtf Audi is doing. It also doesn’t offer RWD mode like the two rivals.
1. Numbers on paper and 0-60 mean almost nothing in real world driving. Most owners can't even use 70% of these cars performance abilities. 2. Entry sounds can be deactivated in the menu 3. Comparing it to the AMG and M cars is slightly redundant, because you buy this for its AWD and looks/heritage. Price points and performance are similar, but thats where it ends. This is a different breed of machine, made for different purposes. 4. Its not over hyped, it deserves its praise because it has improved in so many metrics and standing next to its competitors, they almost dissappear because the RS6 looks so much newer and brutal. Just my opinions on a few of your contentious points! Great review.
@@Chris-jt4ux I directly explained my statement in the same paragraph. They are all very different in their own ways. Just like buying a bed. Prices can be similar but you're going to go with what is more comfortable. Just because one is softer or harder doesn't mean its better. The 0-60 doesn't tell the whole story, nor what is superior. AMG has lackluster interior build quality issues that are common throughout the entire line up. The BMW has an AWD system that will send you off a cliff in winter. In some ways more than others, the RS6 is just as worthy regardless of whats on paper. Direct competition in the form of powerful German wagons, sure. But thats it.
@@jordanjoestar8839 'different breed of machine, made for different purposes' No. They all occupy the large business saloon/touring segment, and are the performance variants. They directly compete with eachother. Manufacturers don't try and copy eachother like for like, but the comparison is far from redundant.

Top Class, subbed. The welcome note...🤣🤣🤣 but hey, don't knock the nineties😆 Your graphics are...was going to say WOW 😉...amazing.
So weird that it has less power than the competition. I mean it’s not slow by any means but still... and the engine has so so so much potential. Most tunes get you 700hp easily
Watched a lot of reviews, the history combined with graphics on engines suspension option etc. Next level so good.
Incredible looks, unmatched in his segment !

Time for an Akrapovic upgrade! 🔊💥💥
Absolutely MEGA review. Great detail on the positives and negatives of the new RS-6.
Great job,
Rick
Really good videos mate always enjoy them
I pay a 1000$ more to hear at start Jeremy Clarkson voice saying: "POWERRRRRRRRR!!!!" Pay the man and do it AUDI!
interesting to hear it has larger turbos. Reason its low on power is so they can add performance mod later and add cost.
Wicked keep up the great videos and awesome editing!🏆...and the accents🤣

I have to comment. I thought channels like Carwow were good, but wow...every aspect of your channel really is impressive. Well done!!
The BHP war is not relevant and Audi has realised this and hence why everything about the Audi is better than the E63s
Except the sound, handling and drivetrain 🤷🏼♂️

Agree 100%
Bruv! I like the way you did this video. Nice vid.
The exhaust is ok I drove it. It’s more a daily driver
The thing that let the C6 down was the gearbox. No doubt it was a massive leap forward over the ZF5 from the C5 but I would really love to see what a C6 could do with the close ratio, quick shifting 8-speed from the C7. I hope someone one day will make that swap.
I’ve always thought of putting a 10 speed in a Rs6 C6
Considering the review from Throttle House where the guys demonstrate how easy it is to tune to over 700hp, Audi have no excuse at all for not giving this car even only 20 more horses. It's been said that a sportier RS6 is coming, but there's no sight of it yet, so what's going on with Audi?
This is THE best review of this classic marque. Thank you! 🎉
The difference the rs6 is a mod monster while the m5 and amg are not . Just a tune and an exhaust are you can push 800 horses on it.
@@jimmaey Cool cool

Blows the E63’s into the reeds............I’d tie one over any Merc. Any Day. Love it.....
One question when you showed the C7 - and your right about the sweet spot, why didn’t you give the stats for the Performance version with 605hp ?
Dude, your historical references and comparisons are amazingly done. To have them switch back and forth like that is exactly how every other car reviewers should do it. This gives you a better sense of scale of each variation.
I agree with your assertion of the rolly Polly SUV's they are just a waste of space and material in every way. If you are going to get an SUV then get a Toyota land Cruiser ;)
Wagon's are so 1970's here in the U.S.
The cargo room is amazing and the automatic rear door along with the fact you can lower the back seats from pulling handles from the rear is very nicely done
This is a car that does it well with looks, power and cargo hauling capacity.
C7 for me. The C8 angles are just too sharp.
I agree with you! The previous Rs6 is a much nicer looking car imo! It's kinda like the Nissan GTR when the latest gen shape got the sharp edges and it just didn't look as good!
It's seriously one of my favorite car.
C7 is the goat
I legitimately laughed out LOUD at the windows 95 welcome scream…😂😂😂

Audi just impresses with looks
Compare and contrast with BMW, which has seemingly decided to jump off a cliff design-wise...
Amazing editing!
Had BMW simply made an M5 Touring, no one could care less about the RS6.
this nardo grey with the black grill looks fantastic, curves of the body on the side/wheels are coming out much better compared to the boring standard RS6 colours black or daytony grey (these 2 represent approx. 80% of total orders....).
I reckon they’ve purposely underpowered it to entice people to buy the RS6 performance when it comes out. The previous gen RS6 performance had more power than this.

Did it have the DRC? Or just Air Suspension? How is the overall feel?
Lovely but for me i'd take a C7 as this has been neutered in terms of sound

Tomas, I just don't like the design.
I honestly have no idea I should buy this to replace the C7. They didn’t even make it faster like the M5 or E63S but this came out the latest. I’m just confused wtf Audi is doing. It also doesn’t offer RWD mode like the two rivals.
We need the rs6 performance to come out
Has it even been confirmed.
@@Chris-jt4ux it’s very likely that it will come out in over a years time as the old rs6 c7 performance was a huge success for Audi
1. Numbers on paper and 0-60 mean almost nothing in real world driving. Most owners can't even use 70% of these cars performance abilities.
2. Entry sounds can be deactivated in the menu
Comparing it to AMG and M isn't redundant at all, they're the direct competition 😂
@@jordanjoestar8839 'different breed of machine, made for different purposes'
No. They all occupy the large business saloon/touring segment, and are the performance variants. They directly compete with eachother. Manufacturers don't try and copy eachother like for like, but the comparison is far from redundant.
