Further Test Notes from VF Engineering Regarding the "Engine Bay Temperature" Warning: The “Engine compartment temperature warning” is independent of engine oil and coolant temperatures, and not related to engine performance, but rather an indication that ambient temperatures within the engine bay are higher than expected for the driving conditions. After further examination it was determined to be related to the oil fill level (being too high) and the radiant heat generated by the upper oil reservoir (located in the engine bay). Once the oil level was corrected, the issue was resolved.
Anybody who hasn’t listened to the TST podcast with the VF Engineering founder should for sure listen. Best podcast in a long long time at least for me.
Matt you really need to differentiate the titles and thumbnails whenever you do a one take. I've stopped watching because of Zach and I think a bunch of people have as well. Also, make Zach drive the stupid fast mainstream cars and you need to drive the weird grass roots project cars like the no f*s given rx7 for example.
this whole track is really fun I got the chance to ride in a 720s on this track and we hit 175 on the banking and I can say you really do feel the sensation of speed
Dude!! I have raced this course many times and 175 MPH on the front straight and holding 130+mph in the banked corner takes serious balls and commitment, but this car makes it look like a walk in the park!!! Very impressive out how easy this car handles those speeds! Great job Matt and nice driving!
I follow a few people on here that have VF supercharged cars....and they all love them...they do amazing work on these cars...and I have not heard of ANY issues or complaints...well...just that the tires need to be replaced often...hahaha!!
*From the video description* _Test Notes: At the end of this video, the vehicle displays a "Engine Bay Temperature" warning. This was an algorithimic message, not the result of an actual temperature issue in the car; it was simply never re-calibrated, as the car had never been driven so hard in such high temperatures. Through a laptop computer, it was fixed in 15 minutes and the customer kits will be adjusted accordingly._ *Updated* _After further examination it was determined to be related to the oil fill level (being too high) and the radiant heat generated by the upper oil reservoir (located in the engine bay). Once the oil level was corrected, the issue was resolved._ Awesome car!
TheDonBarracuda so basically the car got too hot and threw a limp code. the heat wasn’t able to dissipate away from the vehicle. however you look at the matter, it still threw a check code and pulled power. not a minor issue. minor issues don’t pull power, lower rev limiters and throw check codes. it took 15 minutes because it had to cool down. this issue will return until you can figure out how to either lower temps or allow temps to escape. airflow, radiators etc.
john martin having no issues throws no codes, having minor issues means the problems can be easily fixed via software or adjusting oil fill levels as had to be done here
TheDonBarracuda ...so what was it ? over fill with oil in the upper reservoir as stated in the pin notes ? Or a need to recalibrate the algorithm fix ? Or both ? I think California exhaust requirements causes extra heat ! Delete the cats ! It will sound better also !
Definitely was, but to be fair he cut off that other guy's line in a not so safe spot, but the other driver should have checked. I would say both equally at fault
This was by far one of my favorite One Take Episodes. I also loved Nik being on the podcast last week and like a week and a half ago. Love VF Engineering.
Very good video, especially the ending. Thank you for bringing Nick in and showing us the gauges/the cluster. Probably my favorite One Take to date. Setting the bar quite high for Zack, LOL.
It was more than tires. It's a full racecar. That's what you want to be tracking instead of reverse engineering street cars into track cars. GT4CS did great for only being 385hp.
9:54 woahhh that was a little tight for this kind of event haha. Nice composure. Text Cody and nudge him to strap this to his purple car. This video is going to make him jelly
That guy was a fucking prick for trying some shit like that right there. On a track day no less. He could have easily wiped both of them out, and for what? So he can show his pole smoking buddies a go-pro video of himself passing a lambo. I would have had some words with that guy afterwards.
Why didn't slower cars move low on the roval when you were coming to pass? That's a crucial rule at Auto Club; faster cars up high, slower cars stay or move low.
Your brutal honesty is what sets you apart from others who would have never said a thing afraid of maybe what nick would say bunch of ass kissers out there and you sir are not one of them, love your production
At around 7:30 , theres a Engine Control Malfunction : please service car warning. Better tell the vf guys about it ! Keep em coming matt ! Great job on an amazing car!
Ego is one of the most disgusting traits to have. Dude needs to drop LSD or something. Realize he's just an insignificant speck in a multiverse so big our brains can't even begin to understand the scale of it. And then just live life.
I really like track reviews with traffic vs a single car. It really puts things in perspective for all the sensation of speed you lose watching a video vs doing it.
Oh man... that was fun Matt... and I love all the messages appearing on the LCD.. - Engine Control Malfunction... have car serviced - Engine compartment overheated... change driving style... - Speed limit exceeded... Bloom'n electronics cut your fun a bit short...
You must be boys with the VF guys by now Matt. Driven a lot of their cars and always have nice things to say about them. Then there is also the gentleman dragging a log incident. Correct me if im wrong, but that was also one of their cars. I would have probably crashed that thing right there, not even gonna lie.
I want one. Thanks for making this video on the track with a dash cam, and screwing with at porsche. You hit 174 mph in 6th, and still hit 170 in 7th on a misshift....nice!
Thier are three horsepower measurements crank(gross)HP, then SAE(all accessories, exhaust, transmission), then Wheel HP. So at 631 SAE HP with 10% loss = 705 Crank HP. 870 - 705 = a 165 Crank HP gain. 870 × .9 = 783 - 631 = 152 SAE HP gain. 783 SAE HP × .85(15% AWD)= 666 WHP and 631 SAE HP × .85 = 536 WHP; so there is 130 additional HP helping the Performante accelerate.
Definitely miss getting up at 5am every morning to check if farah uploaded a one take. Shit I've been here since the garage 419 days,, keep producing quality content Matt!
It might very well have an engine compartment heat sensor. And that might not be such a bad idea considering the scope of fires involving mid engine Italian sports cars. It might be that VF overlooked that?
This is a true maniac video. I prefer the sound of a turbo Lambo, but this one also sounds pretty orgasmic. It's got one of those steal your family type of exhaust notes.
That's a rich boy toy. Amazing machine. Although I do have VF engineering diverter valves on my Audi and they work great. They were actually one of the cheaper aftermarket options. Forge is double the price.
Yeah, this was one of the best, if the the best, track one takes. It really shows just how fast the car is when you walk the shit out of everything else on the track
Technical question: it seems like all the high HP DI engines have to go to dual fuelling to get much more than about 60-70 hp per cyclinder, is it just there's no supplier with injectors that can flow enough fuel or is there some other reason?
That's the thing.....the info. display was spewwing continuous warnings from go. You done broke it Matty, OOooh Boy! Cheer's from $ast-Van B.C., Canada
Totally awesome, I really enjoyed this coverage of the Lambo :) I've got to start doing some driving videos on my channel instead of just all maintenance I think people will like some entertaining content.
For 300 k that thing should have heads up display so you can see your current gear , rpm and speed . Gt3 rs, zo6, McLarens, etc all come with that. A supercharged hurcan is the ultimate car. 4wd traction , advanced aero , big power , dct transmission, light weight !!
maybe someone already said this but did anyone see at 7:30 in the video it said on the dash engine management malfunction after it said speed limit exceeded thats the only time I seen it say that
I’m disappointed with the lack of crazy shit. When Matt’s driving a VF Engineering car I expect a log, deer or person stretching on the track around every corner lol

Mark M I dont think Matt's going to bother responding to you when you literally told him you stopped watching his content.
Chris Riccio All I need is Matt to read my comment. I'm not expecting a reply.
“I missed a shift to 7th”
Still hits 170mph with absolutely no problem 😭😭😭 this car Is unreal
Easily one of the most fun in-car footage videos I’ve ever watched. Lots of balls to do 175 mph as well!
Rennch - Vintage Aircooled Porsche DIY hey michael!!
this whole track is really fun I got the chance to ride in a 720s on this track and we hit 175 on the banking and I can say you really do feel the sensation of speed
Not balls if you have the right car it basically does it for you my friend
Dude!! I have raced this course many times and 175 MPH on the front straight and holding 130+mph in the banked corner takes serious balls and commitment, but this car makes it look like a walk in the park!!! VF Engineering: all gain, no pain.
Carcaine 😂😅😅😅 they should use this as their slogan
Except your wallet. Lol 😂🤣😂
Carcaine the person is black for political reasons
Hmmm might be on to something
I follow a few people on here that have VF supercharged cars....and they all love them...they do amazing work on these cars...and I have not heard of ANY issues or complaints...well...just that the tires need to be replaced often...hahaha!!

Description was updated so I'm assuming it's the latter since their initial prognosis was incorrect leading them to investigate further.
@ 9:55 lol "damn that was kinda close" was the first thought in my head too.
Always be Smart drivers on Forza online
Definitely was, but to be fair he cut off that other guy's line in a not so safe spot, but the other driver should have checked. I would say both equally at fault

Best track video you have ever posted. Please have a rear view camera next time .Thanks.
That GT4 really shows how much tires makes a difference
Devon Regan black people never invented the wheel
huh?
Still lost to more power lol, that ride looked terrible too
Devon Regan it is a fact that in Africa noone invented the wheel
It was more than tires. It's a full racecar. That's what you want to be tracking instead of reverse engineering street cars into track cars. GT4CS did great for only being 385hp.
Blows by a full on race car with the AC on.... When power is KING!!!
Nic has to be the best Lambo supercharger in the business.
I've never heard of one of his jobs having issues.
The guy is a true professional.
9:54 woahhh that was a little tight for this kind of event haha. Nice composure. Text Cody and nudge him to strap this to his purple car. This video is going to make him jelly

Good lord that supercharger is beautiful
Why didn't slower cars move low on the roval when you were coming to pass? That's a crucial rule at Auto Club; faster cars up high, slower cars stay or move low.
how could you not like this video
Wo hoo~ was in that grey gt350 behind gt4 :) saw this car coming up behind me, and i got the hell out of the way lol
NICE! man you guys have a lot of fun on the tracks i bet
it's definitely a adrenaline rush =P
Your brutal honesty is what sets you apart from others who would have never said a thing afraid of maybe what nick would say bunch of ass kissers out there and you sir are not one of them, love your production
That was an excellent video! I am thinking I will supercharge my Lamborghini Huracan for my TH-cam channel.. Should be lit!
Thank you for respecting track rules your channel is always nice to watch ❤️
Goes from like 50 to 100 in less than three seconds when he's whipping it in and out of corners. Pretty crazy.
"This is fun. This car mobs." - Guy sitting in a supercharged Lamborghini
The speed, the sound, the looks…. nice car
At around 7:30 , theres a Engine Control Malfunction : please service car warning.
Better tell the vf guys about it !
Keep em coming matt !
Great job on an amazing car!
Felt good when you passed the guy in the cayman, probably has his ego up in the clouds saying he passes everyone.
i laughed when Matt started to slow down during the malfunction and dude passed him like YEAAAAAA hahaha
Ego is one of the most disgusting traits to have. Dude needs to drop LSD or something. Realize he's just an insignificant speck in a multiverse so big our brains can't even begin to understand the scale of it. And then just live life.
@UC_risUvfW3oPWpViy2rc7pg LSD is for pussies
At least there wasn't a truck towing a log in this Lambo video.
I really like track reviews with traffic vs a single car. It really puts things in perspective for all the sensation of speed you lose watching a video vs doing it.
Best video that Matt has done in a long time, kudos to you Matt.
Damn! Almost 180 on the front straight! Thats crazy! I was grining ear to ear! And your almost to a mil subs. Hope you get it. You deserve it!
That supercharger was a perfect match to that Lambo...Wow, FFO...great job VF engineering!!!
40 people disliked who will never own one, have the aspiration to own one or understand the skill involved in this video.
Good work Matt!
Oh man... that was fun Matt... and I love all the messages appearing on the LCD..
- Engine Control Malfunction... have car serviced
- Engine compartment overheated... change driving style...
- Speed limit exceeded...
Bloom'n electronics cut your fun a bit short...
One of the all time greats, car vids on TH-cam,thankyou.
For those who have been subscribed to this channel for a while, anyone remember what happened last time when Matt came to this track? 😅😅😅
There are dozens of us... DOZENS!!!
Didn’t he get yelled at by a track official? I think in that mustang vintage racer?
Stephen Cain yes it was 👍
No, he had to get pretty hard on the brakes due to a random maintenance vehicle being out on the track, a couple in different areas actually.
Got one better, remember when he drove the OG, VF tuned Huracan on the street? Anyone remember what drama he witnessed on the road?
this video is so good that I keep coming back to it once or twice per year
9:53 😬
that dude was a shithead.
Awesome video as usual Matt, please keep it up! Props to VF engineering!
One of your best in car videos! great driving and great to hear your thoughts as you go! hope to see more track focused material too!
Man, this video was exciting! One of your best track videos so far!
Shitting on all cars in the track WITH THE AC ONNNNN
You must be boys with the VF guys by now Matt. Driven a lot of their cars and always have nice things to say about them. Then there is also the gentleman dragging a log incident. Correct me if im wrong, but that was also one of their cars. I would have probably crashed that thing right there, not even gonna lie.
It was 175 mph actually and for those people where it is in km/h it is almost 300 km/h
15:30 'Here's where you don't wanna fucking sail it into the wall, right?' LOL! Looks like you had fun beating those cars up out there. Awesome
This was unreal to watch. Thank you for sharing this experience with us!
The expression " *Bringing a knife to a gun fight* " comes to mind...
Except in reverse.
Roof scoop INCOMING!!!!!
Very fun to watch, great production, glad I didn't skip

Very cool video Matt. You make it look so easy!
"Wonder what happened?" 174 with the A/C on...LOL
Amazing car. Killer composure. Awesome vid! Thanks Matt!!
Really great job and video!! This track looks so enjoyable
It might very well have an engine compartment heat sensor. And that might not be such a bad idea considering the scope of fires involving mid engine Italian sports cars. It might be that VF overlooked that?

Such a awesome car!!!! It’s just not fair with the VF SC!!!!!!!!!
🏎💨💨💨💨🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great video Matt!
I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE !!
9:54 holy shit! Sick video. I see Nick everywhere.
Great video matt , great driver , love your stuff
Perfect timing, just finished listening to the podcast.
The speedo and tach is awesome to see, faster than a gr.3 in gt sport. Very cool.
Awsome awsome JOB !!! Loved every minute ! Could almost feel some "G's" when you were cornering that beast ! Thanks dude.
Thank god Matt is back.
This was awesome!!!!!!!
Are those air vents inside the interior made out of metal ?
Great video. Enjoying how you handle a car is one of the reasons I subscribed to this channel.
I really like the wrap on this !
Yeah, this was one of the best, if the the best, track one takes. It really shows just how fast the car is when you walk the shit out of everything else on the track
Lol. -90 weight, +30hp. Matt Farah: the D&D game master of one takes.
Technical question: it seems like all the high HP DI engines have to go to dual fuelling to get much more than about 60-70 hp per cyclinder, is it just there's no supplier with injectors that can flow enough fuel or is there some other reason?
It that was 5 minutes video or 20 minutes video?
DAMN THAT WAS FAST!!!
❤️
Nice motor . That's real dark shades
Matt, you rule big dog
I love the track day videos... very cool... not to mention a great car... Thank you...
That's the thing.....the info. display was spewwing continuous warnings from go. You done broke it Matty, OOooh Boy! Cheer's from $ast-Van B.C., Canada
Matt I think you love this car and you should get one.
Dude for real you need to come back...One Takes aren't the same without you brotha
Matt Great driving Bro.
VF for the win
Jaw dropping engine bay with the fleeting forged carbon. *salivates*
How much weight does the supercharger and additional fuel pump add to the car?
7:57 what in gods name was that?
Totally awesome, I really enjoyed this coverage of the Lambo :) I've got to start doing some driving videos on my channel instead of just all maintenance I think people will like some entertaining content.
How do you know how much additional power these types of cars can take before you dramatically reduce their life or start grenading engines or trans?
you should do more track days, this was awesome
For 300 k that thing should have heads up display so you can see your current gear , rpm and speed . Gt3 rs, zo6, McLarens, etc all come with that. A supercharged hurcan is the ultimate car. 4wd traction , advanced aero , big power , dct transmission, light weight !!
That looks fun, nice run on the track.
Liking it before I see it. I like the title that much... 😀
Damn. That was fun to watch.
Full stock transmission and clutch 🤯
well ... that was an amazing video
Matt you have such a hard job how do you get out of bed in the mornings knowing you have to drive cool cars all day lol
Instant like, so much want for this vehicle.
Additional like for the camera facing the dials! Awesome! I often wonder about speed and revs, it would be great if you could do them more often :)
9:53 that made my heart stop for a second lol
maybe someone already said this but did anyone see at 7:30 in the video it said on the dash engine management malfunction after it said speed limit exceeded thats the only time I seen it say that
