Cub Cadet LTX 1050 Mowing

I do a little Maintenance on the Cub Cadet and mow with it. We still have the John Deere X585, it currently has the tiller on it. This LTX 1050 was brought back from the grave. Below is a list of what was replaced and worked on. The local dealer wanted $3k to do the work estimated, and I did it for less than $1k.
4 new tires
Rear wheel axel seals
Transmission fluid filled up
3 new Cub Cadet OEM blades
3 new Deck Spindles
New dash stickers
New Carburetor, Spart plugs, and air filter
Replaced valve and head gasket
flushed oil as gas was present
Replaced oil filter
Installed battery tender/maintainer
New fuel filter and tank
Dealer adjusted Carb and Valves
Tires put on at Monroe Muffler

How'd your tractor not shut off when you got out of the seat?

I assume the brakes may have been engaged.
