Love it. I had a '51 that I put a hemi in the mid-sixties, but never made it anywhere near the sophisticated machine your 53 is. 53/54 Starlight Coupes (not starliners) are my favorite body style of all time. My dream build has long been a 54 starlight with a nailhead, but that 394 has a bit of magic to it, too. Best friend had one in a 55 chevy, and I was riding shotgun when he twisted the pilot shaft right off a T10.
Cool Stud. Hope he reinforced the frame so he doesn’t wind up with a big corkscrew. Obviously it’s made to go fast fast. I’m going to put a 900 hp ford barra in my 55 champion. It’ll be a 200 mph cruiser. Drivable, durable, long lasting and reliable. No one will ever know. Until it’s too late.
@@garygreen8837 ...Unless I am perhaps a foreigner, for instance :-) Thanks for correcting my spelling. I am Norwegian and I first heard the expression when I saw "American Grafitti" as a youngster. Great movie with a lot of bitchEn rides in it. So... next time maybe it would be just as well of you to nevermind alltogether..? :-)
Olds engines were popular swaps back in the day!
Awesome ride! Thank you for sharing. Sad that Studebaker failed when they had such a fine product easily more creative that the big 3.
GREAT RIDE! Thanks for posting!

That's the nastiest sounding Commander I've ever heard! At what point in its life did it get the Olds engine?
