    I'm in the market for my first Airstream and I've been watching your videos and taking notes. I just bought the weather station for my husband for Father's Day. He's going to love it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and insights!

    Great, informative video Brad, thanks ! FYI-my 2023 International owners manual says the rubber backed floor mat will yellow the vinyl floor over time, even the Airstream mat that came with our 23FBT. Our previous camper developed yellow spots by each door over time and we assumed it might be from the sun, since both had a skylight nearby, but we eventually noticed the yellow areas were same size as the rubber backed mats.

      Quick question not really related to this video, but one of your others. Is your T-Mobile home internet still working? After watching one of your other videos I went to sign up. They are pretty specific it is for a single address and you have to call if you are going to move it. I am wondering if they have started, or will start, geo-tagging them so they cannot be used on the road.

    Great video. I'll add a comment for one issue we have regarding the position of the thermostat sensor on the main unit next to the outside wall beneath the tv beside the refrigerator. It seems to detect about 8-10 degrees off and I think it's because air from the vents, regardless of how I have them directed, blows on the sensor. It tends to turn off the A/C prematurely, then quickly warms being next to the outside wall, then quickly cools, etc. It turns the A/C on too much, but, also cycles way too frequently.

    • @ThirteenAdventures
      @ThirteenAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When we have the road side awning closed and the window shade open closest to that thermostat, we have similar issues as you. We typically keep that outside awning open so it blocks some of the heat off of it. You also loose plenty of heat from this area in the winter and bring in heat during the summer because of those beautiful windows. I think its a purposeful design as its centered in the room but away from the cooktop.

    It was nice hearing your perspective. We actually went from a 27 foot flying cloud to the 30 foot flying cloud with the bunkhouse so my daughter could have her own space. 😉
    There are so many things we miss about the 27 foot! It really is perfect for two people.💖💖

      Thank you so very much for watching and for your feedback. We loved our 30' and miss many aspects of it. But the 27 has been wonderful for us too. As we always say, there is no perfect rig.

    • @adventuresofMomDadGirlWhiteDog
      @adventuresofMomDadGirlWhiteDog 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@ThirteenAdventures that’s what we kept reminding ourselves as we transitioned. …. The 30 foot bunkhouse was about as perfect as we could get for our current situation as a family of three. Although, for us the 27 foot was pretty perfect for just the two of us, with the exception of my 6’ 4” husband and the bathroom situation. 🤪🤣😂

    We really enjoyed your insight on your rig. We have the same unit but without the rear hatch that we just picked up a couple of months ago. Coming from our older AS unit which was definitely more geared towards boondocking, our new unit seems to be more at home being plugged-in with its current stock configuration. I like your mods and suggestions to make it more accessible to being unplugged. I will definitely be doing a deeper dive into it.
    I would be interested in an overview of your tow vehicle. Thanks again for your insight. All the best to you and your family.

    Hi Brad,
    Thank you so much for your videos. I have been binge watching and appreciate the detail you include. We are in the very early stages of researching RVs.
    So far we like the International floor plan you have. I have a few questions if you don’t mine.
    Do you purchase new? If so, why? Does airstream do any custom modifications with regard to the floor plan? i.e. counter w/ drawers under the living area TV instead of the seat that doesn’t like it would be that comfortable under the TV? Thank you so much, Will

    I'm buying the same model with the queen bed. I plan on removing the table permanently and adding 2 Lagun table mounts so they can be easily swung out of the way, leaving a walk through to the rear hatch.

    Excellent details Brad. Can you go over how you setup exhaust fans (whether you run them or not) when running air conditioning. Makes sense to have one on for exhausting hot air that rises but also potentially loosing the cool air coming from the ceiling vents.
    Also what you do to minimize condensation, moisture under mattress...

    • @ThirteenAdventures
      @ThirteenAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thanks for watching. We typically only use the exhaust fans when showering or using the toilet. We also turn them on to move some air if we're boondocking and it's raining as they can be open in the rain unlike the fantastic fan. Have never used them with the AC. we have used them with the furnace. Just opened and not running, to remove some condensation.
      Never had moisture under the mattress in any of our rigs in 9 years of full-timing. We also run a dehumidifier in humid places and/or use damp-rid bags/buckets.

    Question: What’s your take on the new Trade Wind?

    • @ThirteenAdventures
      @ThirteenAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Like most, I’ve only seen the videos so my info is limited. I very much like what they’re doing and that they’re listening to customers. I’m not a big fan of how the flexible solar panels are attached. Love the big battery. Don’t love the Flying Cloud style counter and sink. Not sure about the cloth seats. Some interior storage is lost because of the batteries and inverter. It’s very similar to what we did to our rig in terms of power and battery. Would def consider it for us but want to see it in person first.

    • @rvnut1133
      @rvnut1133 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Like you, I want to see it in person because I have seen several tours by TH-camrs but none have opened or shown the battery compartment location. I prefer the International model but I am curious about this one because of the boondocking package overall. I will try and see if I can see one in person at a dealer. Thanks for your response.

    • @ThirteenAdventures
      @ThirteenAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      From what I’ve seen, the inverter and batteries are under the couch by the fridge. Therefore losing inside storage.

    be happy you don't have a GT with the dometic CU434 stove, i have to replace the thermocoupler because the front burner will not stay lit and now you have to remove the complete stove and remove addition rivets to get into the stove to service it. i called AS and they told me they usually replace the stove instead of repairing it! How stupid is that?

    • @ThirteenAdventures
      @ThirteenAdventures  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I saw this while working for Airstream. It does seem silly to replace the whole thing but often warranty work does that as they buy the whole set up in bulk and not individual parts.
