The clinch knot and polymer knot is all that required for freshwater fishing.Should you re spool your reels my favorite bait shop or even bass pro will tie the necessary knots for fee provided you buy there line.
Richard I'm with ya on the Diawa reels,fished with them since I was a kid,matched with diawa rod,it's unbeatable, I'm 61 and just purchased another childhood memory, newer model,but same amazing reel. Enjoying your videos, a sport second to none! Love it.

I agree with the diawa reels. I caught a 19# blue cat while fishing for spring crappie on a 2500 diawa revros on 6# test line. Was impressed with the smooth drag that managed to survive a 45 minute fight with a large catfish.
