    As a New Yorker, I feel Cali’s pain… It’s weird seeing California having problems with snow…

      Truckee, Lake Tahoe, Donner, Mammoth Lakes, they get 350 inches of snow average each season.

      Well 90% of the water goes back out into the ocean

    • @Eisenbison
      @Eisenbison ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertkitchens6341 And California is doing virtually nothing to try and collect and store the water for use in the summer when another drought inevitably happens.
      They'll have nobody but themselves to blame for not trying to utilize even a fraction of all this excess water.

      I've heard the term over a decade ago.

    • @Elloguvanah

      Well known term especially in the surfing community. Knew of it since the 90s and I was born in 92. El nino, atmospheric rivers, pineapple express.
      Extreme west swells, rain, good sandbars from all the silt and runoff. Underrated storms in terms of deaths, destruction, landslides etc. Compare with hurricanes at times

    • @bobsingh5521
      @bobsingh5521 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Calling it a “storm” is too boring

    • @KB-ke3fi
      @KB-ke3fi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Elloguvanah A hurricane? I don't think so. I've been in several hurricanes from cat 3 to cat 5...they are much worse than the Pineapple Express. Hurricanes hit you twice, coming at you then leaving...in the opposite direction. I was in a cat 4 near Houston once and it hit constant 180 mph...on the front side, then it comes again when eye goes over and rips everything out that it weakened the first time.

    This is really sad. So scary. You just know their will catastrophes. IF I was in that area. I would get a room on beach by the week. Some places like jolly Rodgers offer week to permanent residence in emergencies like this. Fires. Mud slide warnings. And this flooding. Many many weekly stays from Malibu to Calabasas. The mom and pop places are life savers. Praying people who need to evacuate DO!!!
