Many have kept referring to the different subgenres of metal they hear, sometimes including rock. They are certainly influenced by all of them, but Lovebites then synthesized all of that and created its own Lovebites metal.
Bloody epic. You should have warned me, got slapped in the face. I had a wave of emotion come over me at the start there. All girl band crankin', and Japanese, not really what you'd expect from there. I know you've reacted to them before, but I must've forgotten how full on they are. If you are going to dabble in their stuff, you have my vote. Cheers guys
The all female JROCK/JMETAL scene is massive and they are all Superior Musicians! Kinda started around 1981 with group Show-Ya who are still going today😁🤣
Holy mother of the music Gods... brilliant in every aspect. I'm blown away. Thanks once again go to Alex & George, plus whoever recommended this band, for introducing my eyes and ears to something new and powerful. Sisters are doing it for themselves 😁🤘
Welcome to the wolfpack of Lovebites fans my friend. You won't be disappointed. They have so many more amazing songs. Miyako can shred the piano as well as she can shred the guitar too. You'll see. Just a phenomenal band.
Thank you so much for appreciating Lovebites. 😊 Lovebites often hit us off guard like a freight train at full speed, filled to the roof with energy, creativity, musical excellence and joy. U n b e l i e v a b l e . And their new bassist Fami now adds even more joy, creativity, crazyness (in the nice way) and musical skills. She is a musically gifted "free spirit", 20 years of age, specialized on the bass guitar. I saw her demo video here on YT, and I was blown away. Fami adds a further creative dimension to their already established excellence. That is even more unbelievable. 🐺
Welcome back and thank you for doing this reaction to lovebites again, this is the next level of lovebites with the new bassist "FAMI",she bring the new sound for lovebites ❤️, LOVEBITES ROCK
Imagine if the Grammy's started with Lovebites playing this song live on the main stage... The music industry would would be put on notice and the majority of the artists in attendance would second guess their existence.. But as we know, the Grammy's would never invite great talent. This is the most talented band in the world, bar none.
"The music industry" will find Lovebites' quality probably just outrageous. They will probably decide that it would be unfair towards less gifted groups to give Lovebites attention, and move on as usual. But, you know what, I do not care at all. The reputation of excellence will always make its way. As soon as fans all around the globe want Lovebites' music, redordings live shows and merch stuff, it will have to be produced somehow. Ugh! 😁 Iron Maiden only grew by word of mouth (no radio plays, no internet, just the power of their live shows) and evoked a "Maiden mania" even in the U.S., then on the american continent, and finally worldwide. Lovebites can go unusual ways, too. 😊 🐺
American here. You are not giving British metal enough credit as it regards influences. Lovebites also draws on Judas Priest quite a bit. They rarely do covers, but they did cover Painkiller. They absolutely smashed it. There is no doubt in my mind that they are one of the most musically talented metal bands to ever grace the stage. Up the Irons!
We do :) we spotted it on the very 1st track we covered. I think people are getting bored of the comment. We get told to stop talking about their influences cos they are Bandmaid :)
Haven't listened to this band before, have seen them pop up occasionally but never listened to them. Judgement Day rocks and the musicianship of the ladies is phenomenal. Reminds me so much of the epic rock songs that were around when I was younger and running from T-rex's. Will have to check out more from these gorgeous, talented ladies.
Hiatus was good to them.. Fresh start, and they're on Fire !.. Miho is missed, but Fami is amazing in her own right, and is a perfect fit for this bands bright future
Well that is bang up to date! - Amazing band ! Definitely should drop some more into the channel. The latest MV single ‘Stand and deliver’ shows the band in the Studio and a bit more of their charachter. Well worth a quick follow up!
Great reaction guys. Lovebites absolutely slays with this track, it lives next door to perfection. You guys are right, it was a great way to introduce Fami, the new bass player. She is f***ing amazing. Lovebites dropped a new album about a week ago and the first official video off it is called "Stand and deliver (Shoot 'em down)". If you thought Fami's bass was good in Judgement Day, then you have to see Stand and Deliver. Asami's vocals are not as dominant as they are in JD, but she still sings her sox off. Japan is the center of the Earth when it comes to metal bands at the moment, particularly female fronted metal bands. You have featured Band-Maid on your channel before and they recently seriously broke through in the US, with sold out concerts all over the States. They are headed back Stateside later this year (I think). Coincidentally, Band-Maid dropped a new single last week as well. Their single is more a restrained love song to their fans. It really shows the depth of their appreciation they feel for the support of their fans. Even I got emotional watching this song, sniff. Other awesome female fronted Japanese metal/hard rock bands to watch out for are Gacharic Spin, PassCode, Trident and Hanabie. These bands are getting serious cut-through and all are very different from one another, but all are fantastic.
@@christhecurator Chris, the whole album is really good. It is really Lovebites 2.0. I didn't think they could get better, but they went and did it anyway..
@@TheCyberMantis Absolutely, CyberMantis. I did forget Nemophila, I did forget them. That's what happens when you blurt out comments without much thought. Nemophila is definitely worth spending some time with (if people don't already know them). Relatively new (about 4 years now I guess). they are not really known for their covers, but I really rate their recording studio version of their homage to Babymetal's Megitsune. Fox masks and all. It is so respectful and so much fun. And when Mayu launches vocally into the breakdown, I just melt. Thank you CyberMantis for reminding me of the juggernaut that is Nemophila
Alex and George reacting to Lovebites. I put thumb up first and then I play the reaction. Always great to watch your reactions to Lovebites. Did you guys hear this brutal base line by the 20 years old Fami? And the song is sweet mother of all heavy metals ..
Fami kicks butt, and fits in so well. And she is only age 20. You've seen Lovebites and Band Maid. There' another Japanese all female band, by the name of Nemophila, I recommend you listen to. if you want to check them out try Dissension or Raitei to start
Great review chaps, simply put they are the best metal band on the planet right now & will surely take their place alongside the metal gods Wolfpack 🐺 UK 🤘🎸🥁🎹🎶
Unfortunately I don’t know your names, but thanks for continuing to help promote the ladies. Thamesman in black, you are now known to me as “Brains” with those specs.
I'm Pale Horse and I'm somehow also in Thamesmen Studio A (How did I get here!?) saying that this track never gets old. I've said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here: LOVEBITES has an incredible ability to sound like their influences yet be completely original. Great band.
You asked, what to check next from Lovebites ? The next video "Stand and Deliver", especially if you like Motörhead. And hear for the small reference to AC/DC in the solos ! What else from the new Album........ ? Difficult, because it´s a competitor for the best metal album of the year, globally. Centered to the specific genre of speed-/power-/thrash-metal, I doubt that there will be a better one this year. If Lovebites is in your alley, you will find more exellent tracks on the Album, up to all 10 tracks.😉
I really liked the bass guitar, especially the runs at the beginning and end of the song. The whole performance was top notch . . . yet, somehow, it just didn't land with me. I don't know, maybe I'm turning into an old man -- I think I'd have been much more receptive to this as an adolescent 40 years to 45 years ago.
Best métal band ever. Best métal album ever.Best twin guitars ever. And you should try "Stand and deliver" cause it's pure madness as "Soldiers stands solitarily" ! In my opinion 2 or 3 times better than "Judgement day" !
If band maid and Lovebites had to fight I sincerely think that there would be no doubt because Lovebites would come out victorious due to their impeccable technique, their versatility, their power. On the other hand note that there is no lead guitar in this group because Midori and Miyako are placed on an equal footing in slightly different styles. The difference is that Miyako plays keyboards, piano, of course guitar and she is very good at bass and drums. For me, the only ones capable of rising almost to their level are the young women of Nemophila. I've been a fan of metal for over 40 years and Lovebites is the best band in history and I don't criticize or disparage other bands but I really mean it and seeing the comments on YT I'm not the only one and so much the better.
@Eyeosphere00 You should watch Némopila more closely and not necessarily in public with bad sound in general. I like Asterism but they only do instrumentals and it's more like demonstration. Hal-Ca is extraordinary but the only ones who can compete with Midori and Miyako from Lovebites are still Hazuki and Saki. As for Lovebites, they are the greatest metal band of all time.
During the hiatus, Lovebites 1) lost Miho and had to start searching for a new bassist (in between bouts of doubt and sadness and wondering if they would play again as a group; 2) practiced a LOT and actually get even better, which is sort of crazy; 3) wrote a lot of great new music; 4) had two babies (Asami and Miyako gave birth); 5) entered and nearly won a few body-building competitions (that's Midori); 5) found and incorporated their new bsssist; and 6) successfully plotted to blow our minds all over again. Other than that, they were not too busy.
Many have named groups from the 80s NWoBHM period and I think it is Justified. I remember when Priest and Iron Maiden in the late '70s were hitting the airways and the introduction of Motorhead they were the first band I seen followed by Saxon who incidentally are playing this weekend on their 40th year tour!! I am sure you are aware Lovebites brought out a new single last week called " Stand and deliver " and no it is not a an Adam ant cover, could you imagine it though 🙃. This one has Motorhead/ Priest overtones and you will enjoy it!! Great reaction guys 🤟😎
This wasn't stop here, these ladies has the next new MV that will blown you both, pls check : Stand And Deliver (Shoot'em Down) It's 10000000% fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
if Lovebites and Band Maid fight a musical battle I'll bet on Lovebites for several reasons and despite being different genres: vocals- Asami is more powerful than Saiki, guitars- Kanami is an excellent guitarist but it's impossible to beat M&M, drums- Haruna slightly ahead of Akane( for me she is now one of the best drummers in the world) and her stamina is impossible to beat, Bass- Between Fami and Misa come the Devil and choose, here I stay for a draw, but be careful if this battle happens the public dies all, long before the end 🤣 🤣 🐺🤘❤️🤘🐺
@Eyeosphere00 I don't think Akane is any better. I would be interested to see which of her skills she would show at the speed of Love bites. And for how long it would be enough. These are completely different tasks in terms of complexity - to be a drummer in Lovebites and in Band-Maid.
@Eyeosphere00 I love Akane, but for me Haruna is better and I like her style more, and about complexity and skill you have to take a better look at Haruna and Akane's drum kit, Haruna's is much more complex, ice bells, cow bells that Akane doesn't use and Haruna's footwork is light years superior to Akane's , another key point for a drummer: precision, and then they are both precise, the difference is that Haruna in each concert has twice the beats of Akane, but Akane is excellent like Junna or Tamu Murata, regarding the bass I know that Fami is much more technical but I always loved Misa's bass sound and the names you mentioned are missing a powerful candidate: Koga from Gacharic Spin.the rest is all a matter of opinion.🐺🤘❤️🤘🐺
@Eyeosphere00 no problem, if I give you my top 3 drummers you'll be amazed because they are completely different between them: John Bonham, Ginger Baker and Neil Peart, as I said it's a matter of choice and i love Band Maid Either , same way i love Nightwish, Iron Maiden or Wasp . Choices🤣🤘🤘
Both drummers are very good but personally my verdict goes to Haruna. I'll explain why. It's hard to compare the two because it's not the same style of music. On one side you have a very fast style and on the other side you have a much slower style. In the power metal style it doesn't leave much room for the drummer to have a solo break because the style has to be fast and constant. In the hard/punk rock style it's slower and it leaves room for a more solo style in the musical construction. I'm sure Haruna has the ability to play Band Maid easily but I doubt Akane has the ability to play Lovebites easily, simply because of the speed and stamina that is required. It's something to work on and Akane has the technical skills to do it but in a raw battle if you switch the drummers it would be more complicated for Akane on some tracks I think.
I don't personally agree with your first statement (but it's pure taste, so no real reason to argue about it), but you get a thumbs up from me for the second part. I wholeheartedly agree with that.
Awesome!! This was the first single of their brand new album released a week ago also named Judgement Day!! After the long hiatus this was an awesome way for the ladies to make a comeback!! Stronger than ever, and new bassist Fami is fantastic!! On release day they dropped a second music video, for the song Stand and Deliver (shoot em down) - th-cam.com/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/w-d-xo.html 🤘🐺🤘
I wish people would stop connecting Band Maid with Lovebites. The only similarity is they are both from Japan and all female. Those two bands play different genres, rock and metal. Do you compare Queen with Iron Maiden? Those two bands are all male bands from the UK so we should compare them right?
@@TheThamesmen I suppose I shouldn't get too upset about it because for us in the West seeing an all girl band is rare. So our first thought when seeing the two bands is to connect them.
Lovebites are goddesses of metal You should check out Stand and deliver (shoot em down) they've got a lot of Motorhead and iron maiden in the song they write and compose all there songs, singer Asami writes the lyrics and Guitarist Miyako compose it with the help of there friend Mao. Shout out to the wolfpack 🐺 Hassan from England
Welcome back.. Missed your banter.. Well we hope that neither of them explode, LOL However, if you watch the latest release Stand and deliver 'shoot em down' (Not an Adam Ant cover) There is a good chance you you may explode.. I don't think you are ready for this one? But here is the link, if you dare.. th-cam.com/video/4ImGA7cPyrs/w-d-xo.html As always best wishes from Across the channel
Catch up lads this is the title track of the album they just released. There’s also a newer sing from it Stand and Deliver knocks the socks of this one.
Stop comparing LoveBites to Band Maid, they are different genres, Band Maid is an amazing Hard Rock band, LoveBites is Metal, Power Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal, New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, and Symphonic Metal. LoveBites are the white wolf defenders of Heavy Metal! 🤟
I don't understand why Band-Maid is called a hard rock band. I think they have nothing to do with hard rock. This is a pop-rock band both in music and vocals, in the style of songs, and in their format. In no way does it look like a hard rock band. And if we talk about hard rock, Love bites is more of a hard rock band than a Band-Maid.
@@dymyavalor6135 I agree that there are quite a few pop elements in Band-Maid's music. Not too big on them myself, but a lot of people seem to dig it.
I have a great appreciation for their physical talent and the amount of time they put into developing their skills, muscle memory endurance. When it comes to musicality I have only heard them twice both times on this channel. To be honest I could note distinguish between the two songs. they are excellent musicians that have a wow factor but are not a band I would wish to have an album of their music.
You haven't seen all sides to them yet. Check out these two songs, totally different from the two you heard: A Frozen Serenade: th-cam.com/video/Ae8pQVu-RN8/w-d-xo.html Edge of the World: th-cam.com/video/Zr99B4RvaMc/w-d-xo.html
I think that only a person who is not familiar enough with Lovebites can equate Band-Maid with Lovebites. These groups are not even in the same category, not the same level. The only similarity is that the musical product issued by both is acceptable to the ears of the Western listener. Recently, another similar group has appeared - Lonesome Blue. Here their level roughly corresponds to the level of Band-Maid. And if Lonesome Blue performs well at live performances, it will take its rightful place together with Band-Maid. Well, you can also add Nemophila to them, even though its sound is more localized, more Japanese. Lovebites is a band of another echelon. It is of the same level as the great, legendary bands of the golden era of rock and metal music. Moreover, you can confidently put Lovebites against any of these groups, and most likely the girls will win. In my personal rating of traditional groups (that is, playing and singing), Dream Theater is in the first place in terms of technicality and musicality, and Lovebites is in the second. And it doesn't even occur to me to embed Band-Maid in such ratings. This is a very good pop-rock band that plays great live, which I like and I review their concert blu-ray quite often. But, I think, comparing them with Lovebites does not make sense for anyone who is well acquainted with the work of both of these groups.
I am personally more a Band-Maid fan than a Lovebites fan because I am not the biggest power metal fan myself, but I like them both. I absolutely love this track as well. I agree that with what they are playing they can't really be compared, but I honestly think both bands could play each others music for the most part as they are both technically talented. That said, I do think Saiki's vocals are probably not as suited for power metal (I prefer her vocals though) and Band-Maid's guitarist Miku isn't at the level that Miyaku, Midori and Kanami are, so dual solo's would probably be out of the question, especially of this caliber. Also, Band-Maid's drummer Akane is faster that you would think and has apparently getting faster during Covid by practicing to metal tracks (she mentioned Arch Enemy in one of her newsletter to the fans). There is no question that all Lovebites members can play Band-Maid style tracks, I don't know how well Asami's vocals would work for me in that style, but it might work well. I honestly think it's the "ganbaru" (typically translated as "let's do our best", but it's basically "keep pushing") attitude that Japanese bands (and Japanese people in general) have that makes them better every year and why so many Japanese bands have multiple extremely talented members. Band-Maid's guitarist Kanami, drummer Akane and bassist Misa are more technical as you give them credit for, it's just a choice of not playing that type of music. So it all comes down to what you prefer in music (I have had this conversation before), some people prefer technicality over anything else, others also love a more soulful approach. I appreciate both, but I tend to prefer a more soulful approach in general. I don't think any of them is necessarily "better" than the other. That said, I do agree with a good chunk of your statements, they are incomparable as far as style goes and Lovebites are as good as those legendary bands. As far as Lonesome Blue goes, I personally don't like their album (I pre-ordered it, but it's not for me). The producer fiddled too much with the vocals for me and it sounds close to J-pop at some moments (production wise). I know they get compared to Band-Maid, I can see why, but they sound way more poppy from a producer standpoint to me. That said, I do think they can do well if they can stay together, Victor is certainly putting their might behind them, I am just not convinced Narumi is necessarily thrilled with them switching from metal to a more rock sound. As far as Nemophila goes, I used to say they were a metal band, but they have been all over the place music wise on their full albums. I like them a lot as well and I do think they can do well in the West, especially for people who don't mind harsh vocals every once in a while. But, I recently bought a ticket to one of their livestreamed shows and vocalist Mayu was using a lot of vibrato on some songs in the beginning of the set. It sounds like she has been working on that, possibly because her vocal style wasn't super healthy. I personally love the grit she has, but it's possible they will change that out in the future. I don't know if they are necessarily less for the Western audience, their guitarist Saki speaks English pretty well and understands basically everything. She is probably the best English speaker off all the mentioned bands with the exception maybe of Asami. My second favourite Japanese band now is Asterism, but they are primarily an instrumental band, so they are probably not for everybody. Edit: Also, the most important thing in my opinion is that all these bands do as well as possible in the West. It will help out all the other current and future Japanese bands because people will at least give them a look. I started out with one band (Band-Maid in my case) and I have probably bought close to 200 CD/Blu-ray/DVD's of all kinds of Japanese musicians since I did about 2 years ago. It will make them all have a bigger audience even if the band that is growing might not be for you.
I don't know why people compare those two bands, they are two completely different bands. Ones heavy metal, the other is rock. Like comparing acdc to Metallica. And I'm an equal fan of both. Band-Maid probably more fun to watch live tho, man they are funny. And super talented.
@@MaartenT Now I agree that Band-Maid are ahead of Lonesome Blue in terms of musicianship and I also certainly like their music better, but they do suffer from at times poppy production as well. Or maybe it's just overproduction in general. And I personally feel like their songwriting is stagnating. I haven't enjoyed most of their recent singles all that much. Band-Maid also always feel a bit watered-down to me, whereas it's almost the opposite with Lovebites, as they should maybe rein it in a bit more at times. I say that as a Lovebites fan, but no band is perfect and striking the perfect balance between great songwriting and technicality for example is not easy. Nemophila I am kinda mixed on. I'm not a fan of all their genre detours with at times less than stellar results and their songwriting feels a bit juvenile to me. Their musicianship is certainly good, but not on Lovebites's level either. As for Lovebites I would say that they are rather firmly the most technical out of all these female bands. That of course doesn't mean that you can't prefer the other ones musically, but I look for technical musicianship, so no wonder that I enjoy them a lot. There is still room for them to further grow their songwriting though. I feel like they hold a lot of untapped potential still.
@@MaartenT Lovebites play in one of the most difficult and demanding musical genre, it is the maximum tension and hard work. And they play at the highest level. I don't think Band-Maid would have coped with this speed, neither in instruments, nor in vocals, nor in endurance. Probably not. It's impossible for me to imagine Miku from Band-Maid with her guitar playing skills in a heavy metal band. I think that what Band-Maid demonstrate at concerts is about twenty percent of what Lovebites do. Therefore, Band-Maid - just likes it, and Love bites cause admiration and delight and respect. Band-Maid is a very good, but ordinary band. Lovebites is a phenomenal band, a real musical sensation. How can they be compared.
@@dymyavalor6135 I don't agree that Power Metal is necessarily the most difficult and demanding musical genre even though it is very difficult to say what is, it is up there as far as constant speed goes with death metal, black metal, thrash and stuff like some of the "-core" genres probably. It is more complex as far as speed goes than what Band-Maid plays, that's for sure. But there is plenty of Progressive/technical (Death) Metal (check out Blotted Science, it doesn't have any vocals so no worries about harsh vocals) and Jazz (my knowledge is very limited, but Snarky Puppy can get very complex) that is probably more complex at least as far as timesignatures go. The rhythms in a lot of power metal I have heard tend to be relatively stagnant, just really fast. My main problem with the drums in a lot of power metal is how simple (albeit very fast and not easy to play) the drum beats sound, they are basically very sped up punk beats with extra cymbal embellishments and double bass. It takes a huge amount of skill to play like that and it's fascinating to watch, but I personally prefer a little more variation as a fan of bass and drums. That all said I agree that Lovebites do play at the highest level, no question, they are amazing musicians and what they play is without a doubt very demanding (and they make it look easy). As far as Band-Maid's their speed goes, have you heard "Black Hole" by them? Yes, it is a relatively short song and it is not for everybody, but it is certainly not slow (I believe about 220 BPM). Also, Miku is apparently a faster picker than Kanami is, but it's obviously all rhythm stuff, she wouldn't be able to even come close to the lead guitar of Miyako and Midori. Kanami would probably struggle as well. As far as vocals go, Saiki is certainly not as technical as Asami is and she wouldn't be able to hit the high notes. There is a reason why they obviously play the genres they play, but she does sing very fast parts without taking a breath in multiple songs. I personally think 20% is very low, but I agree Lovebites probably shows more pure skills in their shows. I still think both can play each others genres as long as they can make changes (playing faster/slower, changing vocal lines), it would obviously not sound the same as they each have their own identity. A good example is Eye from Mary's Blood. She doesn't hit as high notes as Asami or Fuki either, but Mary's Blood certainly had fast Power Metal tracks. But like I said, it's not really a good comparison and the majority of it comes down to what each individual prefers. I have the utmost respect for Lovebites, I enjoy plenty of their music and will continue to buy their releases, but a lot of their tracks just tend to have things I don't enjoy as much and that's ok. I love that these bands (and plenty of others) are at least getting known over here. I am kicking myself of purposefully ignoring them when I was starting to watch reactions just because of how they dressed, it was extremely shortsighted of me and I'm glad I gave them a chance after a while.
Because all music sits on a musical family tree starting with Robert Johnson and growing ever outward. You can chart the growth and all musicians learn the trees growth.
Bandmade are hard rock, Lovebites are Heavy metal Speed metal Trash metal and more .......Are not really the same style as Bandmade but they are both amazing band " even if i prefer Lovebites Sound personnaly, i start to love Heavy metal becouse that band made me to enjoy for the first time in my life Heavy metal that says all.
You know what Rick….., don’t think I’m weird but I thought about you last night. I watched Muscle Shore and guess what was in it!! We are booked until Oct but I’m going to pitch it!!!!

I agree that they can not be compared music style wise and probably shouldn't be compared. I like them both even though I gravitate more towards the other one myself. That said, the new Lovebites album has more tracks that weren't written by Lovebites bandmembers compared to the last 5 years of Band-Maid releases. Mao still writes (mostly co-writes) a good bunch of them, nothing wrong with that imo, but Band-Maid has written everything themselves starting with their 2018 album and most of everything starting with the single before their 2017 album. They are basically writing their own music as long as Lovebites is around. Bands made by corporations typically don't write their own music. So I don't think it's fair to call Band-Maid a rock band made by a corporation any more (they are more like Lovebites than Babymetal in that sense), but I agree that there is a good chance that this happened when they started out for sure. Their vocalist Saiki certainly was "found" by their talent agency back then. It's not my intention to start anything here, it's not worth it and I like both bands like I said, but I think calling them a band made by a corporation (like a lot of the idol groups) is somewhat misguided. There is also no reason to be hostile against other bands, usually the members have respect for each other anyway (I have seen bs between The Warning fans and Band-Maid fans as well and last year both of them went on a picture together). Judgement Day is an amazing track, let's just all enjoy what we like, other Japanese bands and artists doing well is a great thing for all Japanese bands. It puts more of a spotlight on them in the West and it will benefit every band and every fan because of that.
@@MaartenT I actually wish that there were less Mao involvement. I respect him as a producer and what he has done for the band, but I think we would both agree that his songwriting can be a bit divisive. But I do think that there is a good chance that the Lovebites members will progressively rely less and less on him, as Asami is becoming a really great songwriter in her own right. I'm also curious about Fami's future contributions.
@@cepho8349 It was not my intention to use it as a slight towards Lovebites (more as a defense). I personally don't mind at all, but I was actually somewhat surprised when I was entering the credits on a discography website last weekend. I knew he was involved, but never checked out the credits on the previous albums and I didn't realize he was as involved as he seems to be. Again, I know a lot of people love him, he is basically a power metal legend in Japan and I have a lot of respect for him because of that, but his style of power metal is less compatible with my ears apparently. But he is also involved with Lonesome Blue, so he might focus more on them now that Lovebites clearly can make music without his help. I did notice Asami had a lot of writing credits together with Mao. Good to know they found some other members that can help out, I read that Miho did write some of the songs in the past, so it's great to see that the other can as well. I don't know them enough to know if Asami has a background with instruments, but knowing Japanese musicians she probably does (a lot of them can at least play the piano). I am curious about Fami as well. I don't know how much writing she can do in this style and it might take a couple of years before they let her completely write a song, but she certainly has experience with it from her solo EP (even though that one is really poppy, it's well made, especially for a 17 year old back then). I just couldn't help myself to somewhat defend the slight to Band-Maid (I tried to, but I went back anyway).
@@cepho8349 An accurate observation. Let us hope the divisiveness is checked before it gets too far. And I would add that the rest of the songs on JD seem suspiciously like older tracks that were not used previously. The hiatus, pandemic, Asami and Miyako becoming mothers and the unquestionable priority that takes, there are many elements that from the band's side could be reasons enough for getting any material on there. All in all, I think an EP would have been sufficient; I leave it to others to choose which they would include along with JD and S&D. Lovebites is capable of many great works to come so I'm not particularly bothered by this quick stop at the gas station. 🙂
@@MaartenT No worries, I didn't take it as a dig against Lovebites. And even if it were meant that way I would have no problem with that either. In fact it is a valid point and I want them to rely less on Mao myself as I've said. Also Asami does indeed play piano, at least. Not sure about any other instruments.
I get the talent snd skill. I’ve listened to half a dozen songs. Just not my bag….at all. Always super high BPM’s ….too frenetic fir me but I know many dig it. Especially younger folks
Lovebites 🐺 Metal Goddesses that live rent-free in my head.
Cheers guys
lad you enjoyed Lovebites. Their new album is loaded with great songs. I highly recommend you buy it, you won't regret it.
@ChadtheDragonLord Thank you. Thoroughly enjoying what l have heard from the band so far...
🐺 "Arrrwooooolllll!"
Be well Justin Love the TM
Lovebites are simply astounding. World class talents. The whole new album is absolutely fantastic. Fami is amazing and a breath of fresh air.
The loss of Miho was brutal, but Fami seems to fit very well in that crowd. It's still 5 incredibly talented women!
Thank you so much for appreciating Lovebites. 😊
Lovebites often hit us off guard like a freight train at full speed, filled to the roof with energy, creativity, musical excellence and joy.
They just awesome wow blew my mind
the whole album hits you hard like this. its brilliant
You guys are great! I love your Lovebites reactions. Without a doubt Lovebites owns their genre!
We agree!
Imagine if the Grammy's started with Lovebites playing this song live on the main stage... The music industry would would be put on notice and the majority of the artists in attendance would second guess their existence.. But as we know, the Grammy's would never invite great talent. This is the most talented band in the world, bar none.
I'm writing an article on why the Grammys should not even pretend to feature foreign bands. You are spot on.
Ugh! 😁
Iron Maiden only grew by word of mouth (no radio plays, no internet, just the power of their live shows) and evoked a "Maiden mania" even in the U.S., then on the american continent, and finally worldwide.
@@TheThamesmen We are a protective lot, the wolf pack. It was more of a fun comment not meant as a critique. I enjoy your content, cheers.
Another new song MV Stand And Deliver(Shoot 'em Down) 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Wolfpack is here for LOVEBITES! 🤘🏼🐺🤘🏼
*howl* 🐺 😄
Haven't listened to this band before, have seen them pop up occasionally but never listened to them. Judgement Day rocks and the musicianship of the ladies is phenomenal. Reminds me so much of the epic rock songs that were around when I was younger and running from T-rex's. Will have to check out more from these gorgeous, talented ladies.
I'd recommend listening to the whole Judgement Day album. It's really good.
In my opinion, Lovebites are the most musically talented hard-music band on the planet.
Here for my daily Lovebites fix 🐺
This album is AWESOME.
GREAT!!!!!
Gosh Len, just listened to Stand and Deliver, it's 80's hair metal (as am I) on steroids (I am not.) Absolutely loved it!
@@christhecurator Chris, the whole album is really good. It is really Lovebites 2.0. I didn't think they could get better, but they went and did it anyway..
Don't forget Nemophila!
We should do this Chris

Did you guys hear this brutal base line by the 20 years old Fami? And the song is sweet mother of all heavy metals ..
Thanks Squire. We love you!
Ha ha I am Alex (aka Brains) and George is my co host and you are super welcome!!!
Amazing band. I’d love to hear more.
I'm Pale Horse and I'm somehow also in Thamesmen Studio A (How did I get here!?) saying that this track never gets old. I've said it elsewhere, but I'll say it here: LOVEBITES has an incredible ability to sound like their influences yet be completely original. Great band.
Budge up.... studio A is gettin crowded
Ohhhh 100% thats next - many thanks
I really liked the bass guitar, especially the runs at the beginning and end of the song. The whole performance was top notch . . . yet, somehow, it just didn't land with me. I don't know, maybe I'm turning into an old man -- I think I'd have been much more receptive to this as an adolescent 40 years to 45 years ago.
they're all so skilled

@@TheThamesmen totally ;-)
Harder, Louder, faster

It's 10000000% fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
if Lovebites and Band Maid fight a musical battle I'll bet on Lovebites for several reasons and despite being different genres: vocals- Asami is more powerful than Saiki, guitars- Kanami is an excellent guitarist but it's impossible to beat M&M, drums- Haruna slightly ahead of Akane( for me she is now one of the best drummers in the world) and her stamina is impossible to beat, Bass- Between Fami and Misa come the Devil and choose, here I stay for a draw, but be careful if this battle happens the public dies all, long before the end 🤣 🤣
🐺🤘❤️🤘🐺
Choices🤣🤘🤘
@@arnaldotanta3630 Well, of those drummers who are alive, I like Gavin Harrison. And the new drummer of Dream Theater Mike Mangini.
So glad that you mentioned one of my all time favourites SAXON inthe same breath as maiden.
Saxon had great songs. Need to listen again
Musically, Lovebites always beat Band-Maid, but they're friendly so no fight needed.
I don't personally agree with your first statement (but it's pure taste, so no real reason to argue about it), but you get a thumbs up from me for the second part. I wholeheartedly agree with that.
They are two sets of superheroes who unite to defeat the bilge that gets played on radio.

I wish people would stop connecting Band Maid with Lovebites. The only similarity is they are both from Japan and all female. Those two bands play different genres, rock and metal. Do you compare Queen with Iron Maiden? Those two bands are all male bands from the UK so we should compare them right?
From afar and not knowing the genre that much I think its an obvious mistake but noted. Thanks

@@dymyavalor6135 Well, Lovebites certainly can play hard rock, and i don't think Band Maid can't play Metal!
@@obud3777 I mean, there are more elements of hard rock in Love bites music than in Band-Maid music.
@@dymyavalor6135 Band Maid = Rock, Lovebites = Metal; it's that simple!

Please react to Dissonance from LOVEBITES.
Edit:
Also, the most important thing in my opinion is that all these bands do as well as possible in the West.
@@dymyavalor6135
I don't agree that Power Metal is necessarily the most difficult and demanding musical genre even though it is very difficult to say what is, it is up there as far as constant speed goes with death metal, black metal, thrash and stuff like some of the "-core" genres probably.
I am kicking myself of purposefully ignoring them when I was starting to watch reactions just because of how they dressed, it was extremely shortsighted of me and I'm glad I gave them a chance after a while.
haha..Lovebites vs BandMaid = both dies its equal🤘🏽
Ha ha
Nah, I easily prefer Lovebites over Band-Maid.
Why does everyone want to compare Lovebites with someone else and especially from Japan for no reason? Plz....
Because all music sits on a musical family tree starting with Robert Johnson and growing ever outward. You can chart the growth and all musicians learn the trees growth.

Great reaction. Just the music was eh, not my style?
You need to check out NEMOPHILA and BAND-MAID they are great 👍
They have already reacted to Band-Maid a few times.
@@cepho8349 I'll have to try and find it but that still leaves NEMOPHILA.

The best way to search specific channels is by going to their channelpage and search on that page. On the right side of the tab bar that has "Home" and "Videos" is a magnifying glass, which searches only the channel.
Comparing a rock band made by a corporation with a heavy metal band.

It was not my intention to use it as a slight towards Lovebites (more as a defense).
Have you listened Epilogue, Empty Daydream, Frozen Serenade?
Have you checked out "Frozen Serenade" or "Epilogue" by Lovebites? If not..... you should.
