      Not true, a cheetah's heart is relatively large to pump huge amounts of blood to the muscles. But they have little stamina because their muscles are almost all fast twitch, white muscle. And also they cannot cool off very well so their blood might start to boil if they don't stop eventually

    I had the privilege to see a cheetah family in the wild on a safari in Masai Mara, Kenya back in 2019 just before COVID started. It was a family of four if I recall correctly - one mum and three young adult children.
    What struck me the most was just how effective their camouflage was - barely 30m away in the yellow tall grass and you cannot see them at all. And that's with our 3m high vantage point in the Jeep. They spent maybe 1 minute in total crossing the dirt road, and then they were GONE. It was unreal.

    They also have blunted claws compared to lions as when they're running they use them for extra grip & wear them down.
    Also when in captivity, like at a zoo, they are given a companion/therapy animal like a golden retriever as they are very anxious animals. They are often paired up when both are young so that they can grow up around eachother.

    • @TheLonelyBrit
      @TheLonelyBrit ปีที่แล้ว

      @@freeanimals594 That's the great thing about dogs, though they are pack animals they can form a pack bond with other species that they grow up with. That's why dogs are often used as a warden for animals on a farm, & a singluar dog can lead a perfectly normal life with a single human or a group of humans (a family for instance) as their "pack".
      I agree that when in captivity both the cheetah & dog should have ample space & not be confined to a small area, but if the cheetah is getting a therpay dog in the first place then in all likelyhood the cheetah is being kept in a zoo, big cat sanctuary, or someplace similar where the mental & physical well-being of the cheetah is a priority.

    Their speed also protects them from much bigger cats, like lions. Physically, a cheetah is no match for a lion, but a lion would have to catch it first.

    .....and when they run, they pass more time in the air than on the ground. In few words, they fly🪽...like angels with tail.
    🎶 I believe I can fly 🎶🎶🎤
    Beautiful, in danger creatures....

    Do you guys think you could do a video on gopher tortoises? They're one of my favorite animals of all time, and are very important for the ecology, as they dig burrows for other animals to live in with them!

    The cheetah can only keep their speed up for like 30 seconds then stop or they will overheat and die - The greyhound however does not - They maintain their speeds - The cheetah has the fastest take off but it won't win the race lol

    They can only keep that speed up for a short amount of time as they lose stamina burning up their energy sprinting that fast. They try to get as close as they possibly can to their prey before chasing after it and they sometimes wind up losing their potential kill.
