In this one I'm solo camping in the Vic high country.
I hit Hickeys Creek Track, Mt Margaret Tk then down Chromite Mine Tk to a pristine spot on the Wellington river.
This was a red hot trip with everything expected in the Victorian high country has to offer.

Great tracks in that area. Been years since I did that loop.
I never use to bother fishing when I was I visited the high country. 2 years ago I decided to get a rod and now It’s all about the fishing. The camping and 4wding is all about finding the trout and not the other way around. And I end up finding great campsites by the river as a result.
Great area to fish that's for sure mate,
Also Macalister river Tk is a great track to explore for fishing.
I was the same I use to fish all the time with my farther and only now getting back into it a bit. 👍

Just subscribed to your channel, thanks for taking the time to post these videos, I imagine you put a lot of time into it. I found your channel after searching info on Hickeys creek & Mt Margaret tracks, I used to ride dirt bikes and camp there back in the 80's.

Nice trip mate. Over the long weekend I noticed Hickeys Creek track at Licola rd and B1 track sign missing. So there is a low life out there stealing these signs so they can proudly display their thievery in their shed or room. Thought I'd put that out there because now we are dealing with rubbish dumpers and sign stealers.

On one of your videos you asked how we found your channel. TH-cam algo suggested to me. No surprises there as ive been a high country guy for as long as i can remember; 4wding, bushwalking; ski touring; performance road car driving; fishing; photography and the rest. If i cant be there then im living vicariously watching someone else do it on TH-cam

Just watched you run Hickeys creek. Tip on high country fishing. Red and gold rapala and 6 lb Line in a closed face reel. Would love to see you go down bull town spur from Grant and fish bulltown creek at the bottom. Wade upstream. Bull town spur used to be a great and steep climb in and out. Can’t get there from the USA. 😀.
Great part of the world that's for sure. Yeah I'm running 4lb with a red gold spinner for light rivers. Just might have to get down Bull Town mate and have a crack. I got a Wonnangatta trip planned so might fit it into that. Nice to see some USA viewers 👍
I think you undersell the Victorian high country. There’s 4 wheel driving, flat water and rapid water canoeing, gold and gem prospecting, bushwalking from 1 hour to 1 month. The scenery, birdwatching, and animals. I’m surprised you haven’t seen a platypus or echidna. And there is the hunting of introduced dear. Nether the less you do a good job with limited resources.

Main reason I don't use it all the time is the set up time when including making content.
Mostly due to one night stays as well.
If I stay in one place more than one night it's great to sleep on.
Suppose I'm also just use to sleeping on the ground as well 😀
