I'd be willing to let it go pretty cheap. I'm in South East Arizona Great video. I just ordered the Mini and can't wait to try it
Good news as I'm waiting for Starlink to be available in my country. But, it being too popular and monopolizing ISP industry won't be good no matter how good the service is. Hope more and more companies come up with this infrastructure.
I’ve got Starlink at work for my mobile office. You need to set that up somewhere out in the open (not right next to your jeep blocking half the satellites, maybe on top). It connects to satellites from all angles not just straight ahead. You will have better upload speeds and videos will upload faster. 😅
We’ve carried our Starlink all the way to Argentina in our Jeep. In North America we paid one price… then it jumped up to $200/month as soon as we turned it on in Colombia. A month or so ago they notified me that the price was going to jump to $400/month. Which is ridiculous, but I assume that’s just to push me over to the $250 plan that’s capped at 50GB… so $50 more for much less data (in countries where I can buy 25-30GB of cell data for around $10). 🤷🏻♂️ It’s nice to have, even though it takes up a lot of room, but for me it’s not worth it.
In my country unlimited data, calls and text for the whole month is $15. Also, you can buy $0.5 one day unlimited data, calls, and text $1 is for 2 days. $5 for a week.
@@everythingponyI don't know how it works now, but I know they used to charge extra for if you wanted your antenna to work on the go, or anywhere other than a fixed location.
05:30 Mbps means megabits per second, and MBps means megabytes per second. To convert MBps to Mbps, you multiply by 8, so 1 MBps equals 8Mbps. He was getting 130 MegaBITS per second which equals 16 Mega BYTES per second download and 1.25 upload.
So where are you located? You make it seem like you can just buy the mini and set up and go. If you are in the US, until it’s changed, you need to already have StarLink residential in order to even buy the mini and then you are data capped to 50 GB and the service can’t be paused so for someone who doesn’t know anything about the mini this video is misleading. Also do an advanced speed test so we can see the actual speed from the device to the satellites.

This is also a product they are targeting for developing countries as a low cost alternative. The greater freedom for who can buy it will come as they increase the saturation of satellites for the density of the US customers. I just got my Starlink Mini. I'm able to get 177 mbps from my backyard which usually never have cell signal. Amazing tech. Also, very low power consumption. LOVE IT!!!
1. Do you have to reorient the position all the time? 2. If you buy a normal (non-mini) starlink setup you then also have to buy a separate router? How much does that ad to it?
Great video. Thanks for all the detail. I would love to see more in the mini. Your video was one that I relied on to make my own Starlink mini purchase. Thanks

Haha, he wish he got that many megabytes. Nonetheless, it's still faster than my home internet, which is already plenty fast. You really don't need 130 mbps down.
Great video! Curios to know if this mini would work at a second home - where we want constant internet (to monitor temps, video cameras, etc) AND have enough power to stream video TV, normal internet surfing, etc. when we are at the home. Does this internal WIFI have the power to get through exterior walls of the home and interior walls between rooms?
Well, best bet is to mount a starlink on your roof, and then, route an ethernet cable inside the building which connects to a router with better antennas?
If you've never had Starlink, how did you get the invite to purchase one? Right now they are only offered to selected existing Starlink residential users as an add-on dish.
