Special Deluxe lived up to its name. Dark red is such a fine color. Who could rightfully cry with a car this good? Not this red - blooded American. Keep this lovely Plymouth alive. You got a charm. ❤❤❤❤

In the 60s my dad had this same model "47" in a gray color which didn't look near as pristine as this beautify. It was what he called his fishing car and he called it "the old gray mare" from the song because as he well said, "she ain't what she used to be!" Three of us, my dad, one of his working buddies, and myself were coming home from fishing and it sling a rod bearing. We carefully removed the pan, found the problem, and my dad made a leather insert from his belt. It ran fine with no knocks and we made it home late at night near 11 pm. He certainly earned my respect for ingenuity that night. We retired the "old gray mare" and it was still running when the new owner drove away with it, fully aware that his $75 dollar car needed an overhaul.

Nicely done video, and good questions. I'm an automotive purist in regard to vintage automobiles so I'm very glad to see the owner made the effort to keep it near original. There certainly aren't many people who continue to own their first car. Remarkable.

..I have come to appreciate and admire cars of this era in my middle age/older years..I have always loved old cars since a kid, but I liked cars from the 1932-36 era, the mid-1950's-mid '60's, and late '60's-early '70's..skipping over the late-prewar and early postwar designs(ending approximately 1954,1952-53 for some models)....as an aside, as a pre-school kid, maybe into the first or second grade...just learning to read a little..I saw the name PLYMOUTH on cars..FORD was easy enough to pronounce..DODGE was o.k. once I Figured out you didn't pronounce the second "D"..wasn't sure why, though..CHEVROLET..I learned to both spell it and pronounce it, but couldn't figure out how that pronunciation derived from that spelling..turns out it was French, or Swiss, or something..but PLYMOUTH..I pronounced it "PLY-MOUTH"..as in "PLY", like "Plywood"..and "MOUTH", like the body orifice we speak with and eat with..finally one day, someone informed me it was pronounced "PLIM-UTH"..I said o.k., but couldn't figure that one out..turned out it was the name of a place in Britain..so it WAS English..still not sure why they pronounce it that way, given the spelling.... :)

I need to get that "Music Thingy" for my 1950 Plymouth so I can play this kind of Music when I'm Driving. My Plymouth has the Borg-Warner Overdrive, and is completely original , 43K Miles.

..yes..not chopped and lowered, some wild color with wild wheels, and a tilt steering column with a little bitty steering wheel, with high-back bucket seats, and an LS motor(or some other modern V8)..looks the way it was meant to be.. :)

I'm located on the SF Peninsula. Is Randy close by?? Kinda looks like "Wine country" neighborhoods.

Nice car, Randy! My 1st car was a 50 Plymouth Deluxe. I noticed the turn signals on yours. Where did you get those? I was a teenager when I got my Plymouth, and got really tired of doing hand signals. So I bought a universal turn signal kit from Sears for $9.95 and installed that. Really low quality parts but it worked ok! 😂
