Saw this live . Phish 1999 millenium show in the glades ... big cypress .. one of the best 3 day shows i was ever at ... all together they played 4 sets .. it was a crazy night that i dont remember ... lol but youtube fixed that problem ...
This might not be everyone's favorite, but i think objectively, this might be the greatest Phish jam of all time, in terms of achieved results, sustained focus, group interplay, groove permutation, spontaneity, ordered composition, relaxed-yet-precise execution.....
@@michaeljdema Yeah dude. It really does. It never loses focus, and there's so many layers. As a musician, I keep hearing ideas every time I come back to it. However, the real MVP is Fishman for flipping the script to Mike's rhythm and cutting the groove into half time for the last 8 minutes or whatever it is.
And let it ALL hang out, they absolutely did!! This not too far from where Tom Dowd recorded Layla and other assorted love songs with Clapton and Duane Allman (and JJ Cale’s bassist Carl Radle) that Trey just performed in it’s entirety with TTB at Lock’n this summer.
