I played this when I was 9 and it took me years to finish. I just replayed it on the Wii U and finished it in a week or so. Amazing game, my favorite game ever.
To me, Wind Waker is the best Zelda ever made. First of all, it has the best story of all Zelda games. I mean, after playing for long, and not seing many Zelda characters or names, you get underwater, and suddenly, you are in the all-forgotten sunken Hyrule. HYRULE, people! The main land in the Zelda games, the land we have played in in Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and more! And after so many years after Hyrule's doom, we get back down there, to the all-forgotten land, with the 6 Ocarina of Time sages and all that! How amazing isn't that?! And also, the ocean. I know many people hate the sailing, but I love it. Just sailing between the islands, exploring the wide sea, visiting the different islands, watching the beautiful sky changing, and now as the whole ocean loads at once in the HD remake, you can see the islands a lot more detailed from far away. Just seing new islands in the distance as I sail... man, it's incredible. I love this game. And I always will. When I heard they were remaking it in HD, I nearly fell off my chair! :D
One of the best games ever. Thank you Nintendo for making my childhood awesome. I need to play this again, still have it on my Gamecube. Such a beautiful game, I wish games still were like this. Now there are only bad first person shooter games on the market.
I completely agree, Nintendo always makes the most fun games that never get old. I've replayed Ocarina of Time lots of times and never get bored with it :)
you think that way because of sentimental value, must likely it was your first zelda, but for me a veteran since the first one came out, this one is not even close to the best of the series...A link to the past, ocarina of time, breath of the wild, twilight princess and majoras are amongst the best, then the rest....

I think it reflects the change in the game industry over time, how it's matured and how it hasn't. It seems as though people have grown tired of darker, grittier graphics over the seventh generation. Just look at how often people complain about brown shooters and a lack of good art direction even when the games themselves may be pretty good, while iffy games like Mirror's Edge and Journey get praise for their refreshing art direction. Simply put, at the time, people wanted games to become darker and more mature a medium, as gamers were growing up and the systems could finally deliver on that. But now that the market has been firmly consumed with it for so many years, graphics like Wind Wakers' are refreshing and new(even if they're actually rather old).
Yeah, I remember all the hate towards the art style. I didn't quite get it because, to me, it looked really cool. I truly thought the whole issue was ridiculous. It's just funny now when look at how far Windwaker has come. Moral of the story: Don't jump to conclusions.
I was too young to have gone onto forums and stuff online, and relied on friends to pick games for me, and I loved the art. I still do, and I guess I'm not much of a Zelda fan, cuz I didn't like ocarina (sue me). This game adds a sense of wonder I've never seen in any other Zelda.
If you are talking about Pokemon then yes it got a 7.8 because of too much water because the game doesn't revolve around water. In Windwaker you sail every where so a lot of water is necessary. That's the difference one game is a sailing game and the other isn't.

I STILL have this game, as well as the GameCube, and I STILL play the game. This game really never gets old, nor boring. I effing LOVE this game, and think this IS the best 3D Zelda ever. I'm kind of tempted to buy the Wii U just for Super Mario 3D World and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. (Even though I have it for GC.) I Kinda want Nintendo to remake the Metroid Prime series really badly.
They have remade the prime series. In fact all three (excluding hunters) games are on the trilogy disc for the Wii. Although, if you're talking about a specific Wii U remake, I would definitely agree if they hadn't already done the Trilogy set. Obviously they were only able to make graphics updates to Prime 1 and 2 since 3 was already for the Wii, but I don't really think Corruption even needs an update, likely not for another several years.
nickwick35 That's the problem with any kind of review score really. Personally, I think they're all useless. I always liked the Screwattack approach of just giving out a: Buy It, Rent It, or Leave It. If this actually was about consumer-advice, and people commenting on review sites were honest with themselves - and wouldn't just see reviews as a confirmation of their "excellent judgement-making" and highly evolved tastes in videogames - then that would be enough! But of course, a mere "Buy It!" doesn't lend itself nearly as well to 'discussions' (torrents of hatred that generate website traffic) as a score like '9.8' does...
+Jeff Poole To be fair NO game is flawless and perfect, so your idea of a 10/10 seems a little pointless. I can't name one game without at least one little nitpick or issue especially considering a majority of it comes from opinion. 10/10 for me just means legendary and flawless to an extent, but still has it's problems like all games.
Mine too, everything about it is great. Especially that soundtrack! A darn shame my copy of it on Gamecube doesn't work anymore... I was hooked, and then one day the disc was unreadable :[
Same! When I started playing it 10 years ago, I was like "WHAT THE HELL!! WHERE'S EPONA!?!? WHERE'S HYRULE FIELD!!" And then the moment you sail to the first dungeon, seeing the 2 peaks slowly approach you as storm clouds gather above you... I became totally hooked.
Let me tell you something right now. My gamecube version works but it is always making a static sound which really hurts the amazing wind waker soundtrack. It sucks. If I get this version I will probably explode with happiness into streamers only to reform and play the game grabbing every sidequest, treasure, and secret to be found. Also, lucky me I has a wii u. Also, can someone help me decide? I am trying to pick between wind waker hd and pokemon omega ruby. I preordered my super smash bros bundle already so yea.
Shayan Siddiqi Hmm, will you explode with happiness if you were to get Pokemans? If not, I think you'd be better off with Zelda. It's a tough decision though...
I don't see a purpose of taking out the 0.2 I mean yeah you said that it shows age at certain times therefor it can't really be perfect but if it's gonna be that close might as well just give it the 10
Who else want's to see Super Mario Sunshine as a HD remake? I know their different franchises entirely but seeing this game really makes me wish that they'd remake Sunshine :D
doing the same thing... i have the GC so the free upgrade is welcome. i hope nintendo keeps doing this freebies for their main games. like handing out Pokemon XY with the 3DS
Best Zelda game ever made. Amazing gameplay, beautiful visuals, amazing soundtrack, memorable characters and the overall atmosphere of the game is amazing. Masterpiece.
Yeah I heard bout that my brother got a wii u and it took a while to update cause of all the server issues. I'm sure it'll be fixed in no time though :). The game is gorgeous though and so much fun
Twilight princess HD, wind waker HD, Ocarina of time, skyward Sword, and Majora's mask for switch Make it happen nintendo :) please I would cry happy tears
***** very underrated :( well back in the nes, snes days this console wouldve sold like crazy but gamers have changed alot since then and now all they want are mindless, linear, easy FPS & TPS to play them 24/7 online.
***** no prob, i read it all^^ and i totally agree. especially on the emulator part. i have 1000+ NES, SNES, Master System & Mega Drive/Genesis, GBA games on PC. but when i saw Metroid Zero Missions, Metroid Fusion, Ninja Gaiden(NES) & The Legend of Zelda The Minish Cap i bought them without thinking. I will buy alot more Virtual Console games in the future^^ i think this console is perfect for gamers who started gaming in the mid 80s - early 90. the new Zelda looks great hopfully for me i get amazed by it cause since Wind Waker that didnt happened. TW & SS just didnt do it for me. well we maybe dont get Mega Man but Mighty No.9 this year (i will get it for PS4 though) what i want the most for the WiiU is a new Metroid game. (sorry for the horrible english, its not my native language)
***** You MUST be younger! 3d zelda or not the list goes as follows: 1. A link to the past (SNES) 2. OOT 3. Majoras mask 4. Links awakening 5. twilight princess
No no no, you're wrong. OOT is not overrated, it is claimed as the best game of all time by both fans and critics because of its innovations that helped today's video games be what they are today in different ways. The touching story, badass enemies, the environment and gameplay the music and showed how much of a badass Link can be, but of course these are just popular opinions. But, all these opinions helped the game become the best game of all time, which is a fact as it still stands as the best game of all time. That said, there has been new different games that have surpassed OOT in gameplay, story and many other aspects but it doesn't change the fact that OOT introduced most of these things, other games are doing the same today and maybe even better, which might be the case of SS, OOT is just considered overrated by those who disagree that is the best game of all time, which is fine it's all opinions. With that said I still prefer Majora's Mask as my favorite, again that's just an opinion, to me as an individual with the right to a different opinion, Majora's Mask is the best game there is.
I played this on the Game Cube (over a decade ago!) and from what I remember it was awesome! I was skeptical at first cause of the cartoony graphics but it played and felt like Zelda. Anyone know if there are some significant changes to the HD version?
The Wii U version is way better than the Gamecube version (I love both tho). Here´s what I why is better: -Graphics of course are way better, the lights effects and shadows are amazing, and watching the sunset or the dawn on your ship, is amazing. This game is 1080p native. -The WiiU gamepad enhances the gameplay in an awesome way, you can just pull items to your gear really quick. If you remember, on the gamecube version you had to press start when you were on the boat to see your location on the sea, now you just have to take a look at the gamepad which makes the game more interactive. -You can find now a second sail, which makes you to sail faster. -The camera can take up to 12 photos (on the GCN you could just take 3 ) -Usage of Miiverse -Motion controls using the bow, grappling hook and the hookshot. You still need to press "B" to slash with your sword (It has almost the same buttons option as the GCN). There are some other improvements, like for example when you have the second sail, you can switch the wind´s direction by using it on your boat. By doing this, you don´t have to play the Windwaker requiem every time you want to change the winds. Overall, amazingly WindWaker HD is even a better version of a great game. I have both, but the Wii U version is the best one. IMO.
Abner Winter That's interesting. Now that I remember, I actually rented the Wind Waker for the GameCube. I actually do remember taking it a long time to navigate through the ocean. I really want to play it again.
I'm playing on my Emulator with Wind Waker. And I've got to say, this is the best Zelda Game I've played. Don't get me wrong, Ocarina of Time was amazing. But I think Wind Waker suited me the best. It's cartoony feel, the amazing sceneries, sweet story. I'm loving it. I'm a bit down that I can't play Wind Waker HD yet but I'm still happy that I get to play it on the emulator. I'm still not yet done with this amazing game and I hope that Nintendo gets to publish more of these 'Toon Link' kinds of Zelda series I agree with your score. Although I could've given my 2 cents about Wind Waker's cons. Cheers!
People, stop saying too much water, look at the planet your living on, gonna say theres too much water here too. Wind waker is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000/10
thank you nintendo, this remake is awesome, but can we have something new now, making remakes of past games/tons of throwbacks to older games can only take you so far.
Im not trying to start a debate or anything but if you didn't know Nintendo is working to release a new TLoZ in the near future while the next installment in the series is developed. But it's a spin-off, sorta like Links Crossbow Training to make time for the next one. Oh and it's called "TLoZ Hyrule Warriors" but the name is not final.
This game is a masterpiece and fixes every issue with the original. This is how a remake is done. Well done Nintendo for making such a fantastic game. Worth every penny.
in japan they said zelda is not actually an action RPG, it's more like an action adventure game, they even named a lot's of other games that we all know today considered an action RPG as they're not, they said some developers may call their games an action RPG so it can easily sold, plus they said the true RPG games is actually the turn based ones like the old final fantasy games for an example, so i guess Zelda is just an action adventure with a few RPG elements.
I haven't played tons of zleda games, i've played ocarina of time, this, and link between worlds, and i've seen my sister play some others such as twilight princess. but I have to say, after playing this game for the first time, this is a very fun game. I could play it over & over again!!
From all the reactions i've been seeing, i think the wii u is going to have something of a comeback. this game getting so much love, then SSB and mario kart, i think it'll get a lot more popular than it is.
I was laughing at the assclowns who said the games graphics sucked then and i'm laughing even more now. People that quit the game because of the water... you missed out on an amazing game! The water wasn't THAT bad, once you got the ability to teleport it wasn't an issue and there was always something fun to find out on the ocean! A co-worker of mine said he quit playing due to the water, well now they have the faster sails without the need for the wind waker wand changing the wind! Don't pass on this game! It's one of the best in the series by far!
The reason why people in here are talking about "too much water" is because IGN reviewed Pokemon ORAS and gave the game a 7.8 due to too much water, even though the plot and focus of the game revolves around land vs water like the original. And because Windwaker is 80% water, people are pointing out the fact that both games are similar plot wise (obv not play wise) but while one just had the amount of water pointed out and no gameplay, features, or graphics looked at, the other had all that stuff talked about except the amount of water. Its the glaring inconsistency that people are making fun of.
EQOAnostalgia I know I'm late to this so sorry but I have nothing better to do. Ign has a bunch of different editors who rate games and now there is typically only one person per game. So if a different person reviewed it they might if given it a 7.8 on account of too much water
Noah Elliott The irony is that the person that reviewed this Zelda and Pokemon ORAS was the SAME person (The same one that gave ORAS 7.8). So having a different reviewer probably wouldnt have done much lol.
I was young(er) when this game came out, and I was old enough to appreciate a Zelda game, but for whatever reason, I didn't buy it. I'm actually kind of glad that I didn't now though, because I've heard from multiple sources that anybody who gets to experience this game for the first time with this version is extremely lucky. Can't wait to play it :)
Yeah, only because there's a way to speed up hours upon hours of pointless un interactive long sailing that turned a bit of people including myself off from the game.
Randy Howell I'm actually quite patient, and enjoy scenery. I don't think that would have been a big deal to me if I did my first play-through in the original. I did actually try the original on GameCube a few times for a few minutes, and I loved it whenever I had the chance.
pglAymer I guess saying that the sailing part is what turned me off from the game was a bit of an over exaggeration, I didn't so much as get turned off from the whole game in general then I did just a tad bored with this part, I suppose im just more into the traditional put on your tunic, take your sword and shield and on foot explore the vast land of Hyrule and what wonders it has to offer, I still like Wind Waker and it's story and mysteries, but its goanna take me some time to break into the whole sailing thing.
Randy Howell I'm sure there's more than just ocean to explore though right? Also, the speed sail will eliminate the long sailing times, so it sounds like the remake would be right up your alley.
Yeah, that's where the problem kind of comes in at, I got the original GameCube version so I didn't have to spend nearly over 200 dollars on a Wii U. Regarding the sailing parts im sure there's a lot more just then ocean too, but to get to these places takes a bit of time which originally wasn't a big problem since I knew my destination and what had to be done, and then I got the master sword and it seemed like the story really started to take off from there, unfortunately a bit of the tediousness kind of comes in after you beat the forsaken fortress for the second time. Im currently stuck like chuck trying to figure out how to obtain items that'll allow entrance into the next dungeons in the game, and sure I can get directions from that fish dude which he'll say something like sail five blocks north and three blocks east from here or something like that, but I'll reach the destination only to find out WHAT! I can't get into this place either, so I have to then retrace my steps In a boat that takes quite a while to get from point A to point B, and after try to uncover more info on the task at hand, I think in one day I spent about four hours max on the boat then actually doing anything else.
+Angel Zuniga I don't remember it being that confusing. Felt at first to be a little bit for kids because of the childish visuals. My opinion is going off of a 13 year old memory so it won't be that accurate
The only HD remake nintendo has done since the wii-u's release, pretty sad when you think of all the missed opportunities. this game is absolutely great. now fingers crossed for the TP rumor
Agreed. I saw no difference in the graphics, but HD does include high resolution, and I´ve already waited long enough for Zelda U, so I can wait more. Pleased to see that now almost all mainstream zelda games will be on the Wii U.
I like that as well. I said it upon the release of WW HD that TP should be on the list for next. Too bad that things at Nintendo are taking so long in general. Personally i would love to see HD remakes of F-zero GX (which still looks fantastic) Metroid prime 1, Sunshine, Eternal darkness etc. Too bad that Nintendo didn't step in to retouch some classics. 2 games with just a HD remake on a HD console that has the capabilities is very little. But i'm looking forward to get TP. March is not such a brilliant release time, close to starfox too. Holidays would have been way better.
Ahmad SA That would have been a very good addition! Both great and colorful game as well and great for a HD remake. Actually i though we were gonna get that but sadly no ..
WiiU is like the best console to play Zelda games. You (will) have The very first HD TLoZ, 2 HD ports which are WW and TP, also VR titles Zelda 1, Zelda 2 Adventure of Link, A Link between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap, Phantam Hourglass & Spirit Tracks. You could basiclly make a Zelda marathon just with the WiiU itself. JUST AWESOME!!!
Should I download this game or Pikmin 3 for the free Mario Kart 8 offer? I already own WW on the gamecube but havent finished it (the whole look for the shards of the triforce through me off.
Thanks! Yeah, WW so far is one of my favorite zelda games. I just didn't have time during college to finish playing it. But thanks, i think i will go with Pikmin just because I can always fall back on WW for Gamecube.
for every zelda video i watch and read the comments for, especially for the 3d zelda games, i find legions of fans that are willing to defend that particular game to the death. And there are 5 of them. i guess that proves how stellar the franchise is as a whole for cranking out masterpieces time and time again.
Is just frustrating how nintendo hasnt bring this and Twilight to the switch, why the heck did we get Skyward rematstered instead of windwaker? Dont they know the gamecube zelda is more popular?
No. I prefered Wind Waker for two reasons. It's the most under-rated Legend of Zelda game and has the least sales, 2 million, so it gives people a chance to play this game in HD. Second, the open-world is actually fun, sorry but one of Twilight Princess's biggest flaws is it's open-world, it's practically empty.
TheNorth15 Nope. Wind waker is no longer underrated. If anything its overrated because people for some reason have began riding its dick way too hard. The most underrated Zelda game is by far Minish Cap. Wind waker is still an amazing game, but its not underrated.
I dont know why people think twilight princess is a shitty game it seems like as if its a trend or some shit to hate on it smh i think its the best zelda game
***** perhaps you can download A Link to the Past or OoT from the e shop of the wii u if you don't own a 3ds of course, if you have one, you should get Ocarina of Time, Majora's mask and A link between worlds. Wind waker is my third favorite game on the franchaise, but is not the best to start since is a direct sequel to OoT.
2:45 "Its combat is the best of any action-RPG I've ever played!" You must have not played very many then. Twilight Princess has the best combat in any Zelda game to date. Dark Souls is even better, and The Witcher probably beats all of them.
I appreciate these Zelda remakes. When I was younger I was more of a mario fan so never played the Zelda games, seeing them advertised again due to being remade made me get ocarina of time 3d and wind waker hd and I love them both.
1. Xbox One (Voice commands, multiple windows, good tittles, amazing lighten up graphics, comfortable controller.) 2. Wii U (Cheap, amazing and creative tittles, great features, amazing local player.) 3. PS4 (Fun, great graphics, good games, uncreative homepage, very repetitive.) Xbox One: 4.5/5 Wii U 5/5 PS4: 3.5/5 Xbox One: For someone who wants more than a gaming console. Wii U: Wants to spend time with friends and family. PS4: Wants to share experiences and play online games. So there you go, pick you're console, pick you're style.
All you've done is tell people you don't have a PS4, you bought an Xbox One and Wii U. You make it sound like graphics are better on the X1, they're the same if anything. PS4: 4.5/5 Xbox One: 4/5 Wii U 5/5 This opinion is no more valid than yours.
I realllyyyyyy hope this comes to the switch

I always liked the Screwattack approach of just giving out a: Buy It, Rent It, or Leave It. If this actually was about consumer-advice, and people commenting on review sites were honest with themselves - and wouldn't just see reviews as a confirmation of their "excellent judgement-making" and highly evolved tastes in videogames - then that would be enough!
But of course, a mere "Buy It!" doesn't lend itself nearly as well to 'discussions' (torrents of hatred that generate website traffic) as a score like '9.8' does...
+Jeff Poole Yoshi's Island = Perfect?
I wouldn't say that, Its a great game, but the levels go on WAY too long towards the end of the game.
I suppose but saying the word perfect always seems a little broad :P
Yeah I get where you're coming from
I want this game so bad.
me to I played the demo at walmart and almost bought a wii u right then and there....Might pick one up next week tho
Lol why don't you have it yet? Filthy casual.
u can get it for free if you register mario kart 8 on club nintendo...
Bronzwiggle I was
uh you know gamecube is cheaper if u just want this game
This is by far my favorite Zelda game, Am I the only person who feels this way?
Glad to know I'm not the only one :)
WHERE'S HYRULE FIELD!!"
And then the moment you sail to the first dungeon, seeing the 2 peaks slowly approach you as storm clouds gather above you...
Shayan Siddiqi
Hmm, will you explode with happiness if you were to get Pokemans? If not, I think you'd be better off with Zelda.
It's a tough decision though...
I’m here ten years later and it’s still an amazing game with beautiful graphics truly an astonishing Nintendo game.
I don't see a purpose of taking out the 0.2 I mean yeah you said that it shows age at certain times therefor it can't really be perfect but if it's gonna be that close might as well just give it the 10
The sailing is actually one of my favorite parts of the game.
Reviewer said it's been 10 years since the original version came out.. it's now 10 years since the HD version came out.. time flies, doesn't it?
What a nostalgic soundtrack. This game will always reserve a special place in my heart.
Too much water.
Not at all!
It's a joke about a pokemon review
Triaim 6431 I know.
Then why did you say not at all?
Triaim 6431 'Cause, I hate that people decide to make a joke out of something that I agree with.
Can't believe it's 7 years that HD game came out. Can't believe it's been 18 year's the original came out, can't believe how old I am now.
My introduction to the series and still my favourite of the 3D ones.
Who else want's to see Super Mario Sunshine as a HD remake? I know their different franchises entirely but seeing this game really makes me wish that they'd remake Sunshine :D
Same, or at least a sequel...
@@staticmoonati LOL
Just got this gem in the mail today, I’m excited to play after work
sometimes I think about this game and just cry. 10/10.
Haven't played this in 10 years brings back memories
Definitely gonna choose this game for a free download when i buy mario kart 8 :)
It's amazing you won't regret it!
Ya refuse to rebuy it lol
doing the same thing...
i have the GC so the free upgrade is welcome.
i hope nintendo keeps doing this freebies for their main games. like handing out Pokemon XY with the 3DS
How do you get it free? Is that offer over?
play 3ds you had to input you club Nintendo code into club Nintendo but it already passed
Best Zelda game ever made. Amazing gameplay, beautiful visuals, amazing soundtrack, memorable characters and the overall atmosphere of the game is amazing. Masterpiece.
This is the BEST version of Wind Waker.
First zelda game ive ever played. Will always be my favorite. Ill always cherish the memories struggling at the Wind Temple with My dad.
Just got this game. Never played the original but I gotta say... I am in love with it!
I got it too, but its through a download code, and the nintendo eshop is down :(
Yeah I heard bout that my brother got a wii u and it took a while to update cause of all the server issues. I'm sure it'll be fixed in no time though :). The game is gorgeous though and so much fun
You made a wise choice!
yeah was finally able to finish it and damn i loved it so much. took me awhile cause of college and work
My favorite zelda game....and Ive played alot of zelda games
Well, Breath of the Wild just took the spot. Tho, I do love this one.
This is my favorite Zelda game and one of the ones that I remember playing as a kid
Twilight princess HD, wind waker HD, Ocarina of time, skyward Sword, and Majora's mask for switch Make it happen nintendo :) please I would cry happy tears
No, they're all already on the Wii U which is a fine console and criminally underrated. You can even download the DS games on the Wii U as well.
IGN strikes yet again. A game with this much water doesn't deserve a 9.8! More like a 7.8.
#toomuchwater
Stop being ignorant.
Ebutuoy Tikcus "Stop being ignorant." this proves my statement
TheBlazing Zard Stop being a fucking troll, TheBlazing Tard.
Please stop being mean to IGN.
Just completed on the Wii U, having waited too long for it to be ported to Switch. Zelda games are the best!
To all those people saying they have a Wii U just collecting dust in a corner; can you sell them to me for cheap?
Christian Uy
No.
Pyllervö Mies it's been 3 years dude
Dank Ninja
I know.
Pyllervö Mies how has your life been these past 10 months?
Have you bought a Wii u yet? I'm getting one tommorow along with wind waker
Top 5 Zelda games:
5. Spirit Tracks
4. A Link Between Worlds
3. Wind Waker
2. Twilight Princess
1. Breath of the Wild
Don’t hate me
awesomejasonsel 1 I ain’t complaining at all
I have it on Gamecube and Wii U now and it still remains not only favorite Zelda game, but my favorite game of all time.
I'm considering buying a wii-u just for this game :x
You should, as it has a lot of great games as well, and once we get Zelda U , you´ll be ready to jump in this new adventure.
And you should! I bought mine 3 months ago and it's the best purchase I've done in a long time...
i did it for this game...............well and Bayonetta2^^
***** very underrated :(
well back in the nes, snes days this console wouldve sold like crazy but gamers have changed alot since then and now all they want are mindless, linear, easy FPS & TPS to play them 24/7 online.
I will buy alot more Virtual Console games in the future^^
i think this console is perfect for gamers who started gaming in the mid 80s - early 90.
the new Zelda looks great hopfully for me i get amazed by it cause since Wind Waker that didnt happened. TW & SS just didnt do it for me.
well we maybe dont get Mega Man but Mighty No.9 this year (i will get it for PS4 though)
what i want the most for the WiiU is a new Metroid game.
(sorry for the horrible english, its not my native language)
One of the best games ever!
Man i used to love sailing around in my boat looking for treasure. Great game.
Deserves a 12/10
"Best 3D Zelda" that's like, your opinion man. Majora's Mask stole my heart so yeah...
Ocarina of me and Skyward Sword are very close.
TDPI...I have the exact same list!
Your comment fits your profile pic sooooo much, I love it XD
***** You MUST be younger! 3d zelda or not the list goes as follows:
1. A link to the past (SNES)
2. OOT
3. Majoras mask
4. Links awakening
5. twilight princess
My favourite game of all time...
I played this on the Game Cube (over a decade ago!) and from what I remember it was awesome! I was skeptical at first cause of the cartoony graphics but it played and felt like Zelda.
Anyone know if there are some significant changes to the HD version?
did you not watch the video???
nawab256 I want more feedback
The Wii U version is way better than the Gamecube version (I love both tho). Here´s what I why is better:
-Graphics of course are way better, the lights effects and shadows are amazing, and watching the sunset or the dawn on your ship, is amazing.
-The camera can take up to 12 photos (on the GCN you could just take 3 )
-Usage of Miiverse
-Motion controls using the bow, grappling hook and the hookshot.
***** You should, it´s way better, believe me, no kidding.
I'm still not yet done with this amazing game and I hope that Nintendo gets to publish more of these 'Toon Link' kinds of Zelda series
I agree with your score. Although I could've given my 2 cents about Wind Waker's cons.
Cheers!
Thanx for the review. Just finally bought this yesterday!!!!
People, stop saying too much water, look at the planet your living on, gonna say theres too much water here too. Wind waker is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000/10
+K.C. Cook agreed
Still not better than ocarina of time
Its a joke
Fav game of all time
over two decades later, still great! Always will be great!
Is it really that hard to give a game a ten ign-___-
Nope, just look at cod...
Gotohellcadz which one ;)
10 for a ten years old game sold at full price? people these days...
aragorn100000 Wait are you talking about cod or wind waker?
Just round it off...
thank you nintendo, this remake is awesome, but can we have something new now, making remakes of past games/tons of throwbacks to older games can only take you so far.
Cristian Hernandez ...What? The developers beind the LoZ series have absolutely nothing to do with hyrule warriors
MGS5 - very good but lackluster story 10/10. Wind waker HD amazing but too much water 9.8/10
I remember the first time this game came out. Loved how they revamped the combat system.
I haven't played tons of zleda games, i've played ocarina of time, this, and link between worlds, and i've seen my sister play some others such as twilight princess. but I have to say, after playing this game for the first time, this is a very fun game. I could play it over & over again!!
A well deserved score and a respectful and thorough review of a Timeless Classic. Well done IGN,
From all the reactions i've been seeing, i think the wii u is going to have something of a comeback. this game getting so much love, then SSB and mario kart, i think it'll get a lot more popular than it is.
Its the glaring inconsistency that people are making fun of.
sheraldford I know all about the IGN bullshit and i wasn't refering to it.
Really lol I didn't know that. I'm just looking for something to do, but thanks for the info.
4:18 BULL SHIT! WIND WAKER HAS TOO MUCH WATER TO HAVE A SCORE OF 9.8 IGN!
Are you serious? The water is one of the major reasons I love the game. 2 reasons, 1. The theme (The Original), 2. Random sea battles.
Are you serious or trying to be funny? Too much water! I suppose other games have too much land
hjames78 I'm as serious as a heart attack.
PokeDude011 The water makes up a good portion of the FOUNDATION of the game.
Ebutuoy Tikcus TOO MUCH WATER IS *UNACCEPTABLE!!!!!!*
This was my first legend Zelda game I beat. and I love it
In the top 3 games of all time. This, ocarina of time and Breath of the wild.
100%
Majoras mask?
@@didacusa3293 actually tbh majoras mask and ocarina need an update for the switch. The camera angles on the 64 aged poorly even if the story held up
oot: 10/10 wind waker: 9.8 "the best 3d zelda" ??? what???
Skyward Sword: 10/10 also. No one can make up their minds on which one is best.
Twilight Princess is better than all of those :)
Every reviewer says any Zelda is the best Zelda game, just look at IGN's Twilight Princess review, he says the exact same thing.
Everyone has different opinions.
He was asking about the 3D i guess...
It is a 3D Game.
2D Zeldas have been "A Link to the Past", "Four Swords" etc.
And i guess nothing beats ALTTP :D
I am not ready to move on to the HD remake. I am still in love with my Gamecube
Im suprised they didnt take off for it not having an online feature.
Shoutout to whoever made this video!!
Anyone else watching this because its 40% off the eshop on e3 2016?
Me lmao
Me too. I played it when it first came out and I thought this would be the perfect time to play it again
+Curly4000 is it confusing? I've never played a legend of Zelda game
+Angel Zuniga I don't remember it being that confusing. Felt at first to be a little bit for kids because of the childish visuals. My opinion is going off of a 13 year old memory so it won't be that accurate
Lol yeah I'm deciding whether I should get it or not. Is it fun? It looks good.
The only HD remake nintendo has done since the wii-u's release, pretty sad when you think of all the missed opportunities. this game is absolutely great.
now fingers crossed for the TP rumor
Nintendo's recent direct confirmed it. GET HYPE
+Ammer Reduron I am still sad that we didn't get Sunshine :(
Ahmad SA
That would have been a very good addition! Both great and colorful game as well and great for a HD remake. Actually i though we were gonna get that but sadly no ..
This is my favorite game of all time
How does this get a 9.8 if it has a fuckload of water? #toomuchwater
Too much words 7.8/10 - IGN.com
***** Yup.
***** lets hate a game cuz of "too much water". seems legit
minato namikaze It's what IGN would normally do.
SmittyTheMighty and the 8-Bit Army well yeah i can see where your coming from but you have to admit its the girl reviewers that suck at this job
Need this, and other Zelda HD remixes, on Switch!!
WiiU is like the best console to play Zelda games.
You (will) have
The very first HD TLoZ, 2 HD ports which are WW and TP,
also VR titles
Zelda 1, Zelda 2 Adventure of Link, A Link between Worlds, Ocarina of Time, Minish Cap, Phantam Hourglass & Spirit Tracks.
You could basiclly make a Zelda marathon just with the WiiU itself. JUST AWESOME!!!
Here reminiscing at the end of 2019??
Me. I also have Twilight Princess HD. Both excellent games.
Should I download this game or Pikmin 3 for the free Mario Kart 8 offer? I already own WW on the gamecube but havent finished it (the whole look for the shards of the triforce through me off.
This one, trust me.
Thanks! Yeah, WW so far is one of my favorite zelda games. I just didn't have time during college to finish playing it. But thanks, i think i will go with Pikmin just because I can always fall back on WW for Gamecube.
Pikmin 3 because you already own this one on gamecube, there is not much new in this game while pikmin 3 is a total new game for you to play.
Thanks! I've decided on Pikmin 3 then!
Eloy Lopez You will not regret it , pikmin 3 is a great game.
for every zelda video i watch and read the comments for, especially for the 3d zelda games, i find legions of fans that are willing to defend that particular game to the death. And there are 5 of them. i guess that proves how stellar the franchise is as a whole for cranking out masterpieces time and time again.
I may be one of the few, but I loved the sailing. I thought it was serene.
same
+SLAYER 0302 but there r so many different island s
2020 and still no wind waker port on switch. Why do you make the best games Nintendo and hold onto them :(
THE MUSIC THO 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️
Is just frustrating how nintendo hasnt bring this and Twilight to the switch, why the heck did we get Skyward rematstered instead of windwaker? Dont they know the gamecube zelda is more popular?
Hmmm I'd give BOTW and Twilight Princess the best 3d Zelda label
One of my favorite games 💚
This guy should've been the one to review Pokemon OR/AS.
I can tell he actually gives a shit.
They should have made a definitive twilight princess remake instead of an hd windwaker
TheNorth15 i never minded the emptiness i jus think cinematically with that zelda tech demo kind of graphics it could have gone further in looks
TheNorth15
Nope.
Jesus TheOmniscientKidd I think HD windwaker was a good decision but twilight princess is my favorite zelda too.
I got this game with my Wii U bundle, amazing storyline, intriguing gameplay. IGN got it spot on
No, they were .2 points too low on the rating
I've just gotten a Wii U so my library is a bit low at the moment. I have never really played a Zela game before. Is this a good place to start?
this is a perfect game to get into the zelda series!
You´re starting with one of the best! Have fun :)
Get a 3ds and start with ocarina of time and majoras mask, the 2 best games in the series
I started with this game and it's amazing. One of the best in the series.
2:45
"Its combat is the best of any action-RPG I've ever played!"
You must have not played very many then.
1. Xbox One (Voice commands, multiple windows, good tittles, amazing lighten up graphics, comfortable controller.)
2. Wii U (Cheap, amazing and creative tittles, great features, amazing local player.)
3. PS4 (Fun, great graphics, good games, uncreative homepage, very repetitive.)
Xbox One: 4.5/5
Wii U 5/5
PS4: 3.5/5
Xbox One: For someone who wants more than a gaming console.
PS4: 4.5/5
Xbox One: 4/5
Wii U 5/5
This opinion is no more valid than yours.
Krontok i said pick you're console, pick you're style.
gabriel de la rosa i agree with Krontok a little more.
PS4 4/5
XBone 4.3/5
Wii U 6/5 (not a typo)
oh srry i put 3.5 on the ps4 and it was a 4.5 Nick Fernandez srry :c
gabriel de la rosa nah i think PS4 deserves closer to 4 since it has no exclusives really compared to Wii U and Xbone
Please make this downloadable on the Nintendo Switch!
No thanks!
Another thing that stands out to me is the games soundtrack. This game has several songs and tunes that i still and always will remember
I m the only one who needs this game on Switch?
Bring it to Switch please!
Nope!
I just bought a Wii U and this game a few days ago, and i it surprises me how amazing and fun this game is. And the Wii U is awesome! :)
The cut sailing time in half and you still think it's too long?
It's supposed to make the ocean feel vast.
+league of minecraft Yup. Also had limitations on the GameCube.
so how does the higher speed affect the eternal quest to escape your boomerang?
