Okay well, this probably sounded like some extra-terrestrial language but I assure you, this is english. I also assure you this guide actually DOES go over every single thing you need to do to craft ANY item from start to finish, here's the tl;dr. 1. Have a VISUAL of the item so you can start to reverse engineer it. 2. Start with the HARDEST mod (Temple, no harvest tag, essence, etc) 3. Always verify to see if METAMODS apply to increase your odds of harvest crafting a desired mod. (In some cases this will be what makes a craft DOABLE vs IMPOSSIBLE) 4. Remember to bench mod BLOCKS when Augmenting, in some cases this will turn a 1% into as high as a 100% guaranteed! 5. PRACTICE, PRACTICE & MORE PRATICE. 6. There's no SKILL in crafting at all, it's all just knowledge.
If it can reassure you concerning the "extra-terrestrial language" part, I'm trying to perfect my knowledge of crafting, and this video was quite clear (and incredibly helpful) for me.
So when you target annul chaos at 16:50 how exactly do you do that? A harvest remove? How do you craft anything with only 10 harvest "save" slots if you need to redo several times to get better tier mods?
@@LordKilmir You buy them from other players of course, that's really the only thing you CAN do ... OR... you do it over a long period of time, depending on the craft

@@SpudNug69 Was joking but at league start it's pretty profitable before alts go up in price. I just do it until I finish the flasks, alts and yellow beasts I got in the campain/early mapping to buy decent gear like a 6 link. Usually 3-5 alts + sometimes 4 beasts or just an augment to get a good one selling for 10+c, the best ones usually go for up to 20c and sell within my playtime or the next day. Best (worst) part is that this league I noticed I forgot to make my own flasks first and got extremly unlucky at that point; ended up buying a couple myself... Still no idea why people buy them, it's usually both faster and cheaper to make them yourself. I don't go out of my way to buy alts/flasks/beasts tho, I just keep flasks on my filter for the first week or so and craft/sell them between maps. I would say it's pretty similar profit to chaos recepit.

By far the most understandable and laid out explanation on how to go through crafting in general that I’ve found so far. Crafting now seems achievable after watching your video. Only question is how do I rank the crafting difficulty of the potential mods I’m going for to determine which mods I need to begin my craft with? What makes one more difficult than the next?
Mods that are unique, like essence mods or temple mods are always going to be #1, since you can NEVER get em back, then it's going to be mods WITHOUT a tag, like Intelligence or something along those lines, then you'll have Influence mods without a tag, like in this case the "dmg per power charge" and of course then it's easy going from there, anything with a tag
Hey Matth, thanks for the video. How much currency do you think someone needs to get started crafting for profit? I'm sitting on maybe 40 ex right now, is that enough to get started? What kind of items should someone new to harvest crafting go for? Like what's the low end craft for profit option? I was thinking maybe tailwind boots.
@@Vejtable I found this league to be by far the easiest league ever to make currency in. I was willing to use TFT as well, which helps a lot. Great video. My only issue with videos explaining crafting though is that they always seem to explain how to craft very expensive/mirror tier items. What if we only have 10-20 exalts to invest? (Or less) What kind of crafts can you do early on to build up your wealth?
Well first of all it would definately not include using any prophecy chain crafting (no attack, no caster, lock prefix, lock suffix) those are 1-2 ex each to craft. You step in that zone, you’re looking at 50ex+ range already. But without it, all these sudoku style limiting crafting doesn’t exist. This is like the early part of a sudoku or the base of a Rubik’s cube. What you want is like a two layer done Rubik’s cube, but the theories here still apply, with enough understanding of the tags you can buy “imperfect” items and then harvest craft it to earn money. I guess that’s the transition you need. You can’t control what harvest comes out now, but you can control what you search for on the AH according to what harvest option you get.
Does Change a unique item into a random unique armour/weapon/jewel changes the number of sockets and links? on harvest crafting I will appy it to the Simple robe 6 sockets and links but i do not wanna lose the number of sockets and links
I think I get what you mean. Crafting is still a crapshoot and a dice roll, but the only way to do it without wasting massive currency is by knowing your options
The hardest part about Harvest horticrafting is honestly getting the Sacred Grove to show up. I have close to 100 map runs (75 Maven witnesses visible on the Atlas plus more than a dozen runs without Maven), and I have unlocked the spawn chance passives in both relevant regions right at the start, so I have at least 20-30 map runs with partial or full spawn chance bonus. I have encountered the Sacred Grove exactly once in all my time since the League started. And not in Haewark Hamlet, nor in Lex Proxima, but in a random Flooded Mine run in Lira Arthain with no passive bonuses applying. And I got exactly zero useful crafting options out of the four plots that I found. If this trend continues, I'll be able to complete my first Harvest item craft in... oh, I don't know. Three or four months?
19:25 I've learned that the hard way this league that adding Prefix/Suffix does not count as change. But lucky me: The reset with my Imprint and thee awakened orb item gave me 4 T1 Mods (T1 Life and T1 All Res). Winning.
Any chance you can share the PoB for your Penance Brand? Looks like you already parted out the char and no luck on the poe.ninja ladder. Great video, and thanks in advance!
I'm trying to emulate a Tacati's craft right now and I don't see a way to Augment an influence with no modifier. Do I have to just start with a crusader profane wand and add Tacati's and start from there?
Hi, appreciate the guide, I've learn a lot. Can we do the the crafting for the 99%, example with a limited budget, how to get an ok item without spending to much, say budget as100C, 50C and a only few involve of harvest crafting like 2,3 add/remove. Thanks Matts and the supporter
I dont think that there is “ANY crafted complete item” that you can get it by 100c budget. Especially with harvest But depending on your build you can snipe a fairly good item and fix it to be better like adding one more pref or suf, or even replace a bad mod with other good mod. < and will still above 100c budget
Thanks for the guide. What would your advice be for players trying to hit Tier 2/1 mods? Getting the hardest mod is ironically the most straight forward but after that if the hardest mod also has the same tags as the next mod, and this next mod doesnt roll tier 2 or higher, what do we do? Assuming it's rare and we cant imprint are we just left with annulling and taking the 50/50 (or 1/3?)
most probably alt roll +1 all spell , imprint. then regaled till you get the power charge. once done then use aug phys repeteadly untill you get the phys as extra light n +1 phys or either way use aug light for +1 light if you're playing penance. something lk that i guess?
Just finished a video like 3 mins ago. Believe it or not I started from Talisman league. Your video are great to sieve through the amount of unnecessary content in poe.
Hey I have a question to ensure that I can do crafts that are actually worth doing: how do I find items that are worth crafting. As you mentioned as soon as any youtuber mentions a certain item and explains how to craft then they drop in price by a lot, so where do I find items worth crafting before anyone gets the knowledge to craft then(via a guide) and therefore is immensely worth crafting
If you've ever ran with the NeverSink Strict-Very Strict item filter, you'll usually see the item bases that are preferred by a vast majority of builds. As for the mods though you'll have to research about it from poe.ninja and see what the current meta builds are.
Anyone know how you take 'reduced attribute requirements' off an item? All the rest of the things on my bow are chaos damage except my increased attack speed, which I really don't want to loose by using a 'remove non-chaos' on it
I want to ask question. I want to craft a wand, elder based, +1 all phys gems +1 all spell gems and other spell / phys dmg mods. I have lvl 84 elder base wand. I believe hardest mod here is +1 all spell gems, so i start with spamming alts on that wand, is that right approach? I ve done more than 1k alts, no luck yet..though calculator if i get it right, sais its 1.7k on average
To me the problem really isn't that I dont know how to craft. The problem is that I cant get Harvest to spawn and when it does it never has ex slams or removes.
I had a crazy idea for an item to craft, which might not make sense. A chest piece with both +1 to max spectres AND explodey. Why would a minion build want explode on kill? Well, if you play Kay's Spiders and Spectres build, all kills from from the spiders' poison, which count as player kills. Unfortunately, explode is super low chance, so it will take a TON of remove/add phys, so I expect it would take a FORTUNE to craft, unless you get REALLY lucky.
@@pgbollwerk well shit, I don't know, I just don't think it would but tbh I actually don't know, I've never played a minion build, I would jsut slap on a cheapo explody chest and see it it works, if it does go from there
@@pathofmatth If I ever have a ton of currency, I'll try making it, but I think you have to start with +1 spectres, as I don't think there is any way to slam a delve mod.

This helps but only problem is I'll be lucky to even have enough exalts to even do this since the most exalts I ever had in a season was 5 never had more than that.
I don't get how he is targeting what he wants to remove with annuls? He says "annul chaos" but annuls are random? What if it removes other mods? Are you just starting over completely if it removes your best mod?
I have about 500 hours into this game and never touched crafting. After watching the first 20 minutes of this video, I remember why. =/ Its so damn complicated \
You don't need to go to poedb for mod tags anymore (possibly ever? I dunno when Craft of Exile added this, cuz I've never seen anyone ever reference this and I just found out poking around this league, prior to the emulator update). On craft of exile calculator, go to "advanced options" and then tags: always show, which does exactly what it says on the tin. They also have nice visualisations if you go exalt with harvest influence. Or you can just ctrl-f.
@@illusionlb Its been there for a long while (the always show tags thing) (Im the dev btw) between that and the open all groups button which gets saved to your cookie settings as well someone can mimic the poedb output pretty easily. Also coming from me this bears little weight but i find that its way easier to spot tags with the color coding i have on CoE than on Poedb where they are all white text on blue background. You can just use the harvest selector and it will block out all other tags to visualize quickly as well.
I love seeing items for 10-30 mirrors. Like dude if an item was truly worth a mirror. The individual would be cloning items instead. Mirror is a fairy tale in odds.
if possible maybe put bookmarks into your videos. 30 minute long videos are way more enjoyable when you put bookmarks especially if you are looking for something. great video though
I hope when they inevitably rework PoE due to the technical limitations of the old engine they make crafting more accessible, not necessarily cheaper just more accessible, not having to go thru 7 different mechanics from 7 different leagues to try and figure out how to get the exact stats you are looking for and then having to pretty much gamble for it.

And what about a legacy level 20 fortify on an exquisite blade ? What would you suggest to hit t1 flat phys ? Pretty damn hard hey ?! :D
Does Change a unique item into a random unique armour/weapon/jewel changes the number of sockets and links? on harvest crafting
I will appy it to the Simple robe 6 sockets and links but i do not wanna lose the number of sockets and links
Winning.
Thank you that great info!
Any chance you can share the PoB for your Penance Brand? Looks like you already parted out the char and no luck on the poe.ninja ladder. Great video, and thanks in advance!
why is your chest mirrored can you explain that pls
Especially with harvest
But depending on your build you can snipe a fairly good item and fix it to be better like adding one more pref or suf, or even replace a bad mod with other good mod. < and will still above 100c budget
@@MH-hi9oe Thanks, good to know, I guess just try to buying here and there till we got "something" and start to craft practice
Hmm, I'd need a more concrete example tbh
How would you craft a +2 wand? I’ve looked everywhere and I really can’t find an example that’s efficient
Fossils.
most probably alt roll +1 all spell , imprint. then regaled till you get the power charge. once done then use aug phys repeteadly untill you get the phys as extra light n +1 phys or either way use aug light for +1 light if you're playing penance. something lk that i guess?
Y E E T - thanks for the video! Great information
Just finished a video like 3 mins ago. Believe it or not I started from Talisman league. Your video are great to sieve through the amount of unnecessary content in poe.
Matt a lot of things people can be good at are about knowing or not knowing a lot of things.
Great guide thank you for the great content :)
I have one question do you have any guide to craft an - cold res + power charge helmet?
Alc powercharge aug cold.. Done
Those are two different influence, typically you will just awaken orb the two mods
Look at metabuilds, check out their desired items and take the one where no guide is out yet.
Most items in Filterblade will highlight and enlarge better crafting bases, keep an eye on the ilvl though
All the rest of the things on my bow are chaos damage except my increased attack speed, which I really don't want to loose by using a 'remove non-chaos' on it
Thanks, I have zero knowledge in weapons crafting xD I can craft explode chest, but I just don't know what mods to pursue on weapons
To craft cast speed it is better to aug caster twice and remove/add caster until you hit desired tier of cast speed followed by remove crit.
no, that's not a good idea at all
@@pathofmatth Why? Math says otherwise
Still no answer
To me the problem really isn't that I dont know how to craft. The problem is that I cant get Harvest to spawn and when it does it never has ex slams or removes.
If you dont play 18 hours every day with meal prep and pissbottles to minmax efficiency just forget it.
Is it possible to have 2 prefix on a blue item? Like with beast splitting or any other way?
no sir
I had a crazy idea for an item to craft, which might not make sense.
A chest piece with both +1 to max spectres AND explodey.
Why would a minion build want explode on kill?
Well, if you play Kay's Spiders and Spectres build, all kills from from the spiders' poison, which count as player kills.
Unfortunately, explode is super low chance, so it will take a TON of remove/add phys, so I expect it would take a FORTUNE to craft, unless you get REALLY lucky.
would not work, you need to be killing
@@pathofmatth The Araakali's Fang spider's poison kills proc other non-minion "on kill" effects. What's different about explode?
@@pgbollwerk well shit, I don't know, I just don't think it would but tbh I actually don't know, I've never played a minion build, I would jsut slap on a cheapo explody chest and see it it works, if it does go from there
@@pathofmatth If I ever have a ton of currency, I'll try making it, but I think you have to start with +1 spectres, as I don't think there is any way to slam a delve mod.
I feel bad for matth considering his effort to do this guide and now it's worth jackshit. thanks GGG
Got a pob for the penance brand build?
I love the aesthetic and wanted to try something new that crushes bosses.
crushing bosses=/=penance brand
@@Asd12399 Penance can hit some of the highest DPS in the game my dude...
my acc is public and i have my penance brand from harvest, it does 46mil dps per brand, x2 brand per enemy, 6 brands total
Just to save ya'll some time, pyre charge means power charge.
Harvest league really broke new boundaries huh
Harvest allowed me to hit true Endgame content rather than hitting that red map wall.
@@Samukuai For me it was Delirium cause everything was so cheap and ofcourse because of all the broken cluster jewel mechanics.
But Harvest really made the crafting portion of the game fun again.
Lol.. Man, u doing such a great job!! Im so thankful to you, my feelings in poe are way better cause u show us a lot of good stuff. I hated crafting in poe but already i will try this.
Why would you use poedb if craftofexile has the same overview of mods, with a much better visual color coding?
How do you make your item's gem slots ALL white?
Syndicate and harvest
This helps but only problem is I'll be lucky to even have enough exalts to even do this since the most exalts I ever had in a season was 5 never had more than that.
just to let you know the link to your twitch dont work correctly it add some crappy character at the end on the url
tried to fix it, hope it works!
1) Follow step by step on emulator: yay! 2) Real game: two days without seeing sacred grove.
Advise from Captain Obvious: Play more! :)
I can feel you.
I don't get how he is targeting what he wants to remove with annuls? He says "annul chaos" but annuls are random? What if it removes other mods?
Are you just starting over completely if it removes your best mod?
if he says annul chaos he means that you use remove chaos from harvest crafting ...
I have about 500 hours into this game and never touched crafting. After watching the first 20 minutes of this video, I remember why. =/ Its so damn complicated
\
im playing the video 0.5 speed very nice xD
You don't need to go to poedb for mod tags anymore (possibly ever? I dunno when Craft of Exile added this, cuz I've never seen anyone ever reference this and I just found out poking around this league, prior to the emulator update). On craft of exile calculator, go to "advanced options" and then tags: always show, which does exactly what it says on the tin. They also have nice visualisations if you go exalt with harvest influence. Or you can just ctrl-f.
i think they added it just this week
@@illusionlb Its been there for a long while (the always show tags thing) (Im the dev btw) between that and the open all groups button which gets saved to your cookie settings as well someone can mimic the poedb output pretty easily. Also coming from me this bears little weight but i find that its way easier to spot tags with the color coding i have on CoE than on Poedb where they are all white text on blue background. You can just use the harvest selector and it will block out all other tags to visualize quickly as well.
Sometimes I am feeling that we are playing different games 🙃
I don't quite understand why people are using poedb when craft of exile also shows tags and weighting the same way as well as the calculator feature.
That helmet is still worth 45 ex right now lol
Someone is selling one for a Mirror even
I love seeing items for 10-30 mirrors. Like dude if an item was truly worth a mirror. The individual would be cloning items instead. Mirror is a fairy tale in odds.
if possible maybe put bookmarks into your videos. 30 minute long videos are way more enjoyable when you put bookmarks especially if you are looking for something. great video though
If you don't know now you know...
Now, how to get Harvest to actually spawn above level 76?
hamlet tree top left map pool
Harvest always has the itemlevel of your map so just run maps higher than 76.
+1
