I’d wear the blusher in the winter and bronzer in the summer as they how I think they'd look more natural (cold flushed cheeks vs. sun tanned ones). Because I like both looks.

Thanks for this, Wayne. For myself, I prefer to use only blush. I’m 70 and have very pale skin. For a younger person like yourself, either blush or bronzer, or a combination, works well. Bronzer creates a more sculpted look. For darker skin tones, I think bronzer is the way to go regardless of age. Great technique lesson!

On your face I find bronzer more natural, and when I decide to contour my face I use Huda Beauty creamy bronzer in the color Light. Then I apply some blusher. Wayne, your mascara is absolutely STUNNING! I live in Roma, and I've waited a long to get it, but it's worth it. I curl my lashes (short and sparse...) then I apply two coats of your waterproof mascara, and a friend of mine asked me if I've done eyelash extensions... Thank you so much, I'm so happy to have such long, curved lashes! I hope my english is not too bad, because I'm an old italian lady, But I'm watching all your videos, you speak a perfect english and I can understand all you say very well. • @laurabozza
      @laurabozza 3 ปีที่แล้ว

YES! I find it strange that a professional makeup artist is advocating the use of bronzer (used to mimic a tan - on the HIGH points of the face where the sun naturally hits) for use as a contour which is used in the hollows/LOW pints of the face to mimic shadow. I hate when people contour with bronzer as it looks so wrong (to me)!

Many years ago when I first started wearing real makeup (and had moved beyond my blue eyeshadow and Great Lash high school phase), I read an article that described how to use two different tones of blusher, with the darker below the apples and the lighter on the apples. Once I had figured out how to do that and how to blend everything well, I latched onto that technique and used it for years until the advent of contour and bronzer.
One thing I should mention is that with olive skin it's very hard to find a contour or bronzer that doesn't make me a shade of orange much like a certain ex president's hair. Ironically, lately I've been going back to the older technique, using two blusher tones and forgoing contour and/or bronzer. As you say, personal preference, as well as finding the right shade of either.
    P. S. Cherie Palmer-Keithly's comment made me remember that really blue mascara that everyone wore with the blue eyeshadow. Cringe-worthy now!!

I didn’t regularly wear blush till I was in my early 30’s and I’m 46 now. I got obsessed with bronzer just a few years ago. I love contouring with blush. Yes, it’s an 80’s thing but when blended well, it gives a lovely flush. I do like the bronzer side, too but I tend to reach for blush more.

I really wish you'd create a video series for how to use each of your products. For example, best way to use brush 1 or a number of videos for different looks for your eyeshadows. Your new brushes have a unique shape to them and it's always nice to have a guide for new products - especially a variety of makeup looks you can do with eyeshadows.

Great comparison! I guess it depends on the day. With olive skin, foundations historically haven't been the kindest same w bronzer. Have tried to find my bronze and base shades but blush is so easy when I don't want to wear a base. Your bronzer is on my wish list. I've usually used blush in this 80s way since the 80s. Believe it slims and flushes the face in a manner that's flattering.

Years ago i used only use blusher to contour and bronzer to get a subtle sunkissed look. Thanks for reminder 😃 looks beautiful x

This looks so pretty and just reminded me that this was exactly how I did my blusher in university 1993-96😂🤣. Good times 😆. I’m going to do it like this tomorrow 👍xxx

A lot of us did no contouring at all then. Blush was worn on the apples of the cheeks like Courtney Love did at the time. :)

I prefer a little bit of both blusher and bronzer! Since I don't tan I do need a little hint of redness when I am bronzing up my face. I think it looks more natural on my lighter skin. Love your techniques!

I like the bronzer maybe different shade of blusher for me. I always do bronzer but I’ll try it with a blusher ..didn’t think of changing it up.. I am tan right now I had to get a new shade for my powder. A blusher would be best now 🤔 thank you for this new out look on how I can use a blusher 👍🏼😉

I prefer bronzer on myself but looking at your comparison they both look great. I'll have to try just blush contour. Or mix them both!

Thanks for this video. I don't know why but I always struggled with making my blush look smooth and complimentary. I love your technique and was able to execute it with good results! You are so great at explaining each step and the reason why.

I think you’re lovely and I really love both if I had to choose though for my skin tone bronzer flatters me most.

I use both. First a bit of bronzer and after that a hint of blusher over it

Both look great but I personally like the bronzer. Your blending technique makes both look so beautiful. I have definitely upped my blending game thanks to you. ❤️

I think it depends upon what I am doing that day... and how I am dressing etc ... both looked great.... the blusher was brighter and therefore more obvious ... but both def work! Thanks Wayne!

I like the the bronzer. It looks more natural since no one blushes naturally all the time. You have taught me that blending and blending more and more is the secret to great looking make-up.

The bronzer is perfect for a "no makeup" look, which is what I prefer most of the time. But I remember doing my blush in the 80's, just like you did it here. Ah, the good old days. 🤣

Both look stunning! I really love the blush technique because I tend to use blush way more often than I use bronzers. It does look more obvious but more fresh and youthful.
