Diddy Kong Racing: Unused objects

- There has been some people posting videos of some unused objects in this game, but they didn't record all of them. I decided to look through myself, and managed to record some unseen objects!

the character balloons and the half balloons with numbers is likely were used to be used in a early character selection screen
Unused Objects that are implemented into the game but not used in the Game as a whole. It's strange that they aren't deleting them as they are unused...
It takes more time to delete them completely by wiping every ounce of data addresses and such associated with these objects, opposed to just leaving them alone.

i'm pretty sure the "midi fade" like objects are just developer models to show where all the coding is, like how modern games can have a medel that looks kinda like those that says "trigger" in the stage building tools to show where in the level something is going to happen.
The 30 and 60 signs don’t look like route signs. They look more like speed signs. Not sure though. Perhaps they were meant to be signs that indicated a required speed for a section, such as a jump. (Example:60 sign at a jump=60mph is needed to make that jump).
Also, there’s no Conker balloon in the video, which means it must be unimplemented like Diddy and TT. (Diddy Kong, Conker and TT balloons don’t exist).
The black rectangle may have been an early model of the logs seen in Sherbet Island and Boulder Canyon.
As for the spacecraft at the end, I think it may have been another intended reference. Future Fun Land has 2 references to F-Zero X. The wings on the lighthouse rocket in the launch cutscene resemble those of the Blue Falcon and the 2 red ships seen in Darkmoon Caverns at the loops (only in the adventure balloon race and silver coin race) resemble the King Meteor and Queen Meteor. The unused green machine may have been intended to be remodeled into a ship resembling another F-Zero machine. (It likely would have to have been a green machine, resembling either the Wild Goose, Big Fang, Mighty Typhoon or Green Panther). However, F-Zero machines don’t have such a long beam down the middle separating the front and back, and neither do machines in Wipeout 64. It may have also been an unused model of hostile green ships, which would have been on courses alongside the hostile purple ships, including Wizpig’s personal ship.

I think the camera is at a such untextured and early state, and considering it's huge, might mean it's from an intro cutscene from pro-am 64.
the space background is likely to have been used in one of the future funland maps

I used Project 64 1.6 and the (U) 1.0 rom.
The code will only work when you are on the file select menu. Turn the code on before selecting a file, and when you select a file, the lighthouse will be replaced by whatever the code listed as it's value.
By the way, you need to select a file that has the lighthouse that didn't take off to Future Fun Land yet.

maybe at the begging of the game, you only had diddy kong, and you had to collect the other balloons around the map to unlock the other characters.

Maybe the character balloons were intended to change the character during adventure mode. You pop the balloon you want to play as the character on it.
Also there is no Diddy and T.T, but also Conker.

birby no offense but why use super mario 64 music on 8:14? When this is manually about DKR (Diddy Kong Racing). No offense not hating.. but why?
