I don’t think Cape independence is a bad idea, but what would that make me? I would like to be a South African (even tho the country isn’t doing so well) but I was born and raised in the Western Cape
I was born and raised in the cape too. Day by day I grow less proud to be South African. I'd rather have the cape be it's own country. I'd be proud to call myself a cape citizen. Its clear that the Western Cape is doing better than the other provinces in terms of municipalities, crime management, schooling and other humanitarian needs. Yes, there is no denying that there is still corruption in the Western Cape but at least it isn't as blatant as that as the corruption wider country and government which is in literal state capture.

It wasn't, at the time their where only 3, the Cape colony, Transvaal and the orange free state, these where conquered and pushed into a union, it's why we have 3 capitals so all 3 previous nations people would be happy and not fight eachother. After 1994 Transvaal and cape province would be broken up to make it a grand total of 9 provinces before 1994 their where only 4 province's, with 2 being former British colonies, cape colony and natal (KwaZulu-Natal) and the 2 being the former Boer republic's.

I think you've got it backwards bud. Last i checked it was the british cape colony that annexed the two boer republics and invented the union of South africa after the second boer war. It would make more sense for the former transvaal and orange free state to declare independence as much like Scotland, Quebec and Texas they were the ones forced into the union.
It was the british cape colony that invented south africa not the other way around hence cape town is also referred to as "the mother city". Its also the reason why we have parliament in cape town, its like Washington DC trying to seceed from America.
