As a 58 year old 4th generation South African I have a love/hate relationship with Mr Malema. I agree with a lot of his socialist policies regarding nationalising infrastructure and resources as we had under the previous regime, especially during sanctions in the 80's. A lot of my friends with qualifications left for Australia, New Zealand after 1994. Now one of my friends wants to return from New Zealand after 27 years! But I will say that when the ANC came to power and after Mandela died, the country has been so corrupted and infrastructures created by the Apartheid government, including hospitals, clinics, police stations, schools, national railways, national airlines, national energy, housing and so on were corrupted, badly managed and destroyed by neglect and incompetent people placed in positions they were not qualified to perform. Farm murders, and the call for land "expropriation without compensation", and his latest speech at the Stadium to the youth where he said they can go and "take white people's houses" really scared whites. He doesn't seem to realise we are listening to his speeches and some would support him if he did not alienate us with such threatening vocalizations. That is why it is hard to trust him. But he is refreshing and a leader, which is what we want. So it's complicated because he seems to speak with a forked tongue regarding "whites" as if we don't belong here, and that we did not work hard, study hard and buy everything we have. He seems to think all whites are the same, and that we were just given everything, which does not happen in a capitalist society. This is an insult to us and our ancestors who struggled very hard to survive and to create a life for themselves in South Africa, buying their land from the British government, and then the Nationalist Government. Never did we just get given land. I think if he had greater understanding and communication with ordinary whites he would learn a lot. I personally will no longer support the DA (Official Opposition Party) in the National elections due to their stance on Russia and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I will support them in the local elections, however, because they are showing results where I live.

As a 58 year old 4th generation South African I have a love/hate relationship with Mr Malema. I agree with a lot of his socialist policies regarding nationalising infrastructure and resources as we had under the previous regime, especially during sanctions in the 80's. A lot of my friends with qualifications left for Australia, New Zealand after 1994. Now one of my friends wants to return from New Zealand after 27 years!
But I will say that when the ANC came to power and after Mandela died, the country has been so corrupted and infrastructures created by the Apartheid government, including hospitals, clinics, police stations, schools, national railways, national airlines, national energy, housing and so on were corrupted, badly managed and destroyed by neglect and incompetent people placed in positions they were not qualified to perform. Farm murders, and the call for land "expropriation without compensation", and his latest speech at the Stadium to the youth where he said they can go and "take white people's houses" really scared whites. He doesn't seem to realise we are listening to his speeches and some would support him if he did not alienate us with such threatening vocalizations. That is why it is hard to trust him. But he is refreshing and a leader, which is what we want. So it's complicated because he seems to speak with a forked tongue regarding "whites" as if we don't belong here, and that we did not work hard, study hard and buy everything we have. He seems to think all whites are the same, and that we were just given everything, which does not happen in a capitalist society. This is an insult to us and our ancestors who struggled very hard to survive and to create a life for themselves in South Africa, buying their land from the British government, and then the Nationalist Government. Never did we just get given land. I think if he had greater understanding and communication with ordinary whites he would learn a lot. I personally will no longer support the DA (Official Opposition Party) in the National elections due to their stance on Russia and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. I will support them in the local elections, however, because they are showing results where I live.
