The prospective supporters now vote for DA!. The credibility of pro independence groups is in doubt. They do vote for independence informally on FB etc but not formally where it counts, officially on election time. Why is this disparity?? Although the most credible formally credible group by registered voters is the FF+ ACKNOWLEDGING about 500 thousand voters, as is claimed. the role of ULA could play formally as the originator of decentralization, direct mandatory voting of a Federal Republic with real self determination, self governing powers, independence etc is sadly ignored. ULA is the real driving force and years ahead of the rest of the parties, who will not be able to achieve much as the they have not done the legal work needed.

Why on earth did you mention Brexit and Farage and such in your campaigning?! I know of tons of potential supporters that bailed after that because they don't want the same mess here as the UK had. You targeted the racist, bigoted, fringe, hateful, ultra-libertarians in your campaigns and it backfired because there are only about 5000 of them in the whole country. And by doing so you COMPLETELY alirnated the rest of the potential electorate. Your campaigning was HORRIBLE. It literally chased people away.

People don't even know how the election works. People voted DA because they were afraid that a vote for ANYONE else meant that somehow the ANC or EFF would win. People do not know whta the reality is. So they will vote out if fear rather than for their own future. You COMPLETELY missed the point. Your marketing focused on COMPLETELY the wrong things.

I have been supporting Cape independence for 15 years. Yet there is no party that takes this seriously. RP campaigned like idiots and completely missed the point. CIP (or whatever it is called these days) are a bunch of fringe ultra-libertarians. None of you took independence seriously. Was it because you were fooled by a clearly inaccurate Victory Research poll?! Where is the methodology for that poll? Someone didn't check it properly.

Two other things come to mind regarding the Capexit result: The wind was taken out of the voters sails when it came to light that they were to be excluded from the election, even though the RP gave an undertaking to give their votes to the DA. Secondly, an articulate and charismatic non-white candidate is required to draw people to the party with solutions about what can be done to improve their lives and not just to bash the opposition.

If the council are not willing or able to help the less well off residents of the area then these are the scenes you are going to witness. Many years ago I found myself about to be homeless there were flats to rent at cheap rates but It was only three months before I was away to college so opted to live on the municipal camp site instead it was not any cheaper really, but it did mean I had a newish set of camping equipment going forward and less expense than fitting out a flat or cottage. I was used to camping so it was not a shock to the system the site had hot showers and washing facilities.and rubbish bins, the two man tent was a little confined for long term living I would have given my eye teeth for a bigger tent but it was all that was available at the time, and I found a system to manage.Lets face it over the centuries people have lived in tents quite comfortably and still do either on a temporary basis or permanently . I think what we have here is a heavy dose of nimby _ism. Instead of crying about it why don't you residents pool some resources buy a field and install facilities charge a small weekly rent it would probably pay for it's self might even make a profit, you would be helping out those less fortunate than yourselves and relieving your own stress levels to boot.

As much as it pains me inside, to break the union of provinces of this great nation of South Africa, Cape independence is the only way to get away from the stupid ANC and MK and EFF politicians. And we all know a liberated Cape nation will be far better run and therefore more prosperous for all races of the Cape. Furthermore, the ANC will not permit Western Cape separation because then all people from the other provinces would attempt to emigrate to it, and that would make the ANC look bad.
