    After building out my DIY Uhaul tiny house conversion for over a year and a half, we finally start adventuring. In episode 2 of the stealth camp series, we stay overnight at a high-security park-n-fly facility at IAH.
    Is the truck stealthy enough to stay overnight in an airport parking lot? Will I survive with low battery in the humid 90 degree Houston heat?

      The first thing I was leery of is someone using this stealth idea in plain sight in parking lots for human trafficking. That could be the cause of high security and suspicion. It’s at an all time high awareness with human trafficking right now.

      @@Kim-ri1hgnah, that's not it. If we (the US) cared so much about human trafficking, Congress would be funding serious anti-trafficking programs through the DHS, punishment for traffickers would be mandatory minimum 25yrs, and the FBI would stay busy investigating those names in Epstein's list, but instead they're funding proxy wars and genocide on the other side of the world to keep Haliburton, Lockheed, and other war profiteers awash in cash that should be improving the lives of Americans and propagating peace instead of conflict, death, resource theft, and destruction.
      All this is at the airport and other places so are shook worried about overnight parking is nosy busybodies and further evidence of the US being a nanny/police/surveillance state. @@AbeusMaximus Oh this reminds me of a nice story. I was in the grocery store at night about 10yrs ago. I saw the parking lot girl (maybe 18yrs old?) up one aisle before I rounded the corner to the next aisle. I walked farther up to where she would be talking to another employee. They were chatting about working there. Just background noise until she bragged she knew where everything was in the store. And started naming stuff. Made me smile.
      On my way out I asked for the manager and told him about her. He smiled so big. I smiled again at him smiling so big.

    Go ahead and take the ride to the terminal. Then, a little while later catch a shuttle back to the lot There's nothing suspicious about coming back and getting into your vehicle. Make it look good with some baggage. They will be too busy with the onslaught of vehicles arriving to take notice. I know a FedEx pilot that wants to do this instead of paying for a crash pad at the hub. Bet he's not the only one.

    Yeah, I’m not jealous. The airport with all its noise and commotion is probably the worst camping site that I could imagine. It does however prove that you are indeed a very stealthy, stealth camper. Perhaps the stealthiest.
    Too bad about the a/c. It’s gotta require a big battery bank to use that all night long. Maybe you could devise a way to just cool a bed compartment to lighten the load a bit.

    A good thing to have would be a EV charger port. Have it hidden under the van a bit, or have it so that the port is connected to a long cable that you can bring out the door. People will probably see you charging and think "That person's such a idiot for making that truck an electric vehicle". There's also some methanol and hydrogen generators for emergencies that are very efficient, but those also cost a few thousand bucks.

If you want to be alerted when someone is standing next to either door maybe think of motion sensors mounted in moms attic facing straight down with remote chime that can wake you up.

    • @TheTechnoBarbarian
      @TheTechnoBarbarian  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      There's a lot more to the raspberry pi that will be revealed as time goes on... camera viewing is just one of it's functions. The DVR I have does include motion alerting which I'll eventually get set up.

    • @ronaldduck7567
      @ronaldduck7567 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Awesome man. I can see 2 problems you will potentially run into. (I installed cams for an IT co.) 1: motion sense is going to suck because headlights and distant objects will trigger it. 2. The cab camera will be unusable at night using the internal illumination IR's which will just flood the interior. Solution is turn those off and place external IR's around the exterior. (Moms attic,front bumper etc) should be fun experimenting

    How can you even relax with so much security on the property. Its like being back in the 1980's and going underground mental to beat the system. Like now your living like an escaped convict or a bad ass that is beating the system except its only a matter of time you are caught maybe not tonight or tomorrow, but eventually. ON TOP of the dact the lot has cameras all over the place AND if they REALLY get suspicious of anything they can call in a frequency find and find your exact location. OMG. Maybe you're not breaking the law, but you will never be allowed back. In these days of surveillance at every corner THERE IS no such thing as steath unless you are on acres and acres on your own land.

    You're giving a bad name to your fellow box campers.
    I'n this case peoples long term parked car, could be broken into, while someone fills up their truck in a supposedly secured area. When you start lying, you are the problem. Especially boasting about how you abuse a business. Karma catches up.
