I own Devious Machines Texture, and Shaper Box, but in the thick of producing I find myself simply using Erosion 98% of the time because I don't feel like opening a plugin window with dozens of modulation and tinkering options. I think there's a lot of intangible benefit to a SIMPLE product like this that can do the job, and something tells me I will get more use out of this than those VSTs. so thank you!
lol totally with ya. i own devious machines texture also. i love erosion when i just need to work and not get bogged down.

Exactly! 🙌 This person gets it 😉 Its always been one of my pet peeves with plugins and one of the reasons I don't use many of them. I spend so much time working on a small screen so popup plugin windows get pretty annoying pretty quickly! Being a Max device also has some other benefits, like making it easier to share projects with collaborators or save usable backups that you know will always load.
Nice work tom. Ive been meaning to update my Noizyer device but this is a great alternative in some cases. Well done.

@@ELPHNT its very much in need of an update. I actually have a version that I started moving everything over to gen~ and implemented an external input (which I use myself) but have been waiting to finish my new transient detection algorithm so I can level it up even more before I release it to the public.

That's one of the samples in my other free FIELD pack, so make sure to grab that whether you pick up TEXTURE or not! 🙌 I use to live near this beautiful cemetery/park and the birds there were always making noise. We used to walk through there a lot in the early days of COVID and, without all the usual background noise of the city, it was a perfect time to capture them.
IR Loader w/ an env follower and inbuilt filters is tbh a pretty good idea. Not using Live these days but I'll add it to my list of M4L devices to snag.
Its not quite an IR loader - there's no convolution going on - but you don't really need anything too complex like that for it to work its magic 😉
This looks great. Does it work with the Push 3?
It will run, but unfortunately there's no easy way to set up the sample loading on Standalone 😢 In the future I might do a Push 3 specific version, but right now it not going to be usable.
Only thing missing is a random start point function
Does it really? Just map the start to an LFO
I considered something like that, but ultimately decided to not add too much additional complexity. Your best bet is to map an LFO or something like it to the Start parameter, should work just fine 😉
Hi there, I just bought it ! I had a few questions, what is the 808 reduced size plugin window that is used on the drums ? Is it just an 808 style drum machine ? Same thing for X-Bus... I'm curious what is it ? And last, what is the Andor plugin used for the chord material ? Thanks in advance.
First off, thanks for buying it! I appreciate the support 🙏 And... correct - 808 is just an 808 Rack I've made - the Core 808 Drum Rack is pretty much the same. X-Bus is just a custom Drum Buss preset and Andor is a custom wavetable preset - you could easily find similar presets for each in the Core Library.
I Iobviously missed something but I don't understand what make this device "special" compared to other Shaperbox's "Noise" module, denise audio "Noize"or Klevgrand "Fosfat"? What did I miss?
You're not missing anything, really. This isn't a new concept I've just always wanted something simpler that felt native to Ableton Live, so I made it 🤷♂️ This probably doesn't do as much as something like Shaperbox or Devious Machine's plugin, but that's the point. It does one thing and does it well without any extra fluff and fits nicely in an Ableton workflow.

Ironically, the guy that made a TH-cam channel to bring FREE Max for Live devices from others under attention actually now SELLING his own stuff instead of releasing it for free as well. The idea is "stolen" from Devious Machines Texture by the way, so nothing new.
Lol. There's plenty of free stuff over on the site, including a bunch of free Max stuff on elphnt.io/experiments/ 😉 But I guess it is pretty awful of me to try and actually feed myself 🤮 And no, its not new - not much is these days - just a refinement of existing concepts into something simpler and more Ableton native. Was something I was after for my own workflow and it looks like I wasn't the only one 🤷♂
