Great video as always. Nice little tough truck, this would be a great Christmas gift. Can't believe it survived the bashing, it should be a different little monster on 3S, thanks for sharing.
Another great review troy,it's nice that you keep your reviews on the budget friendly rc's as well as the other brands also,as always great videos and reviews, until next time!!!
I bet even if we said we don't need to see this with 3s you would run it with one anyway, but of course we want to see that. 😁🤣😂 I have Haiboxing brushed and brushless trucks based on your reviews and they are fantastic. Might have to have a talk with Santa about this one. Thanks Troy for another great review.
Nice review. I have been seeing this one and almost picked it up. I don’t like the radio that Haiboxing uses. The truck I have also has a delay like that so it must be the receiver. That ESC should have been a nice upgrade.
Hey Troy, I’m new to the hobby and am really enjoying your content; thank you for making it. I had a question about the truck. How is the ground clearance? Is it the same as the 16889a Pro, or lower since it’s a truggy? Thanks so much!
Hi there! Welcome to the hobby. Glad my videos have been helpful. The ground clearance is basically the same. These vehicles are small. So if you have a concern about clearance, you may need to look at a bigger overall vehicle.
@@RoadsideRC After more research, I learned the SA is 3S capable out of the box. I read that it's possible to use 3S with the A, but it can be glitchy and/or lead to issues eventually
At 50 years old ( in 2 months) I'm just starting to get into the RC hobby, I've got some nice drones, Potensic Atom SE, just got the BetaFPV Aquila 16 FPV kit with the FPV goggles (love it so much i bought 8 extra batteries😂) but I've never owned an RC Car , well not a real one, one of those little $5-$10 cars when i was little, but I've got this exact car coming from Amazon tomorrow morning, supposed to be here between 4am-8am , if it gets here at 4am, i feel bad for the neighbors😂
Do you happen to know if this has the same motor in it as the 16890a ? I'm having a hard time trying to find heat sink it says the motor in my 16890a is a 2840 motor but the only thing I'm funding in heat sink is for like a 540 motor !

I agree!! Thanks!
This truck looks pretty freaking awesome...😃
It is pretty good!

Thanks Thomas! So many folks are interested in getting into the hobby cheaply...and some of these budget cars just keep getting better.
looks awesome my friend it survived your intensive test
*thumbs up for you👍Au👀fully watched💯*
Thanks Billy!

Thanks Rick! I hope Santa is good to you. :)
Love the video I just got one too give it a try with a 3s on the paddle tires in the dirt what a runner so fun
Nice! Glad you like it!
Every upgrade videos are interesting. So, it might be cool to see that vehicle with 3S.
Thank you! I just might do it!
it should take it stock great actually@@RoadsideRC

Agree - I had high hopes for this ESC. I wonder if it can be programmed with a typical Hobbywing card...
In your conclusion, the car makes really loud noises (cracking) when rolling on your workbench. Is that normal? 12:12
Hello!
Yes - that sound is 100% normal. No reason to be concerned.
@RoadsideRC Thank you for your answer! 👍🏻

Thank you! I also looked at the 903a, but I’m seeing a lot of people say the differential strips easily. Cheers!
What is the difference between the 16890A and 16890SA? Are they just different color options or does the SA have upgrades that the A model doesn't?
The SA is supposed to have a few tweaks - but looking at them right now, I see it as around $10 more.
I think I would get the A instead.

@dukies0799 Interesting. I ran 3S in the old A model just for a test. Honestly - I think it is too much for the size of the truck.

what is the better truck: HAIBOXING "16890A" vs hbx "16889a" pro
Honestly - both are very comparable. I would say you are best off getting whichever comes with extra batteries and/or is cheaper.

@RoadsideRC thank you for the link but I don't know if my car has a place to plug in the fan
Men Is compatible with redcat volcano 16 parts?
I don't think it shares any parts. The old model did though.
Will it handle 3s?
I never tested 3S on it - sorry!
It's advertised as 3s capable
Amazon says that the truck comes with 3S battery
Amazon listing says, "3S battery capable (not included)"
You mention "LiPo" but those appear to be Lithium Ion batteries.
I'd have to go back and look - but good chance you are right.
@@RoadsideRC Actually my bad, it says "Polymer Lithium-ion"
👍👍😎😎
Already need new parts motor gear and diff gear 😂 35.00 good to go
Did you go back with stock parts, or find upgrades?
