Evan over at Derby City RC told me the reason why it doesn't wheelie is the center diff! Makes sense! The thing takes off but doesn't wheelie. As he described it, when the rear grabs into the ground, it transfers more power to the front wheels therefore essentially making it front wheel drive until the rear catches up. It’s so awesome!
Yes, he’s (Evan) absolutely right, the power gets distributed to the front giving it much more traction in cases when one or both wheels might be slipping. Kinda like having a slipper in the front too! Center diffs allow you to correct a power slide much better and holeshot out of it. Evans a great resource of knowledge, and an awesome dude!
Really great wrap up with this car as it pertains to being stock. Well done! To get a physically larger battery in the slot, all they have to do is move that esc in front of that rear bulkhead . Either mount a flat pedestal on that part of the chassis where the rear diff is , or mount it somewhere near the receiver on that center beam. Doing so would open up that whole slot for a larger lipo pack. I already mentioned this to hbx’s engineers, but I think the more people that contact Sy with feedback, she then can and will relay the info or idea to the engineer. If no body does this , they’ll never get it changed or know what we want. Take care my friend , nice job!👊🏼🌟🌟🌟
Thank you! I like that idea a lot! Didn't even think of that but your idea seems like the easiest way to fix it! Great stuff! I think it may still be a little too narrow but.... I would think they could do some small modifications to make it slightly wider (less intrusions) and at least a LIPO like my Liperior 3s 2,200 mAh would fit (the LIPO that brought it up to 46 mph).
Yes, this is my first RC with a center diff and I did not realize this. Thanks for the tip! Evan over at Derby City was the first to tell me about this and I pinned the comment but it is easy to miss. I will have to go in and make a subtitle in the video indicating this.... but they never seem to show up for those that watch on cell phones.
its has a cemter diff could be a reason ....i get mine to pop wheels off the floor ....so what i done was mounted the esc on the top plate and snapped the battery tray plastic line you can get 2-3 in there

Hi, if u remember or can check quickly pls, does this rc have a dead zone in throttle? Heard that when u press 1/4th of trigger, nothing happens, until u press a little bit further... (different from a throttle delay, where any press on trigger, eventually inputs, but delayed).
Sorry, U2 had hid your comment and I didn’t see it until just now. Here’s a quick video. I did not notice a dead zone. th-cam.com/video/wvLdFryhxSw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=KoL8WuyMpBvP9EbD
Thanx for time put into this truck. Any chance I could get the measurements of the battery box? This truck is so close to being my next RC wish it had a metal frame and came 3s .....
I'm wondering how it hold up cause I've got a few cheaper rc and everyone has broke in very little time is the plastic they use cheaper quality then the more expensive ones my last one was the hyper go mjx h14bm and that one was the worst and the most expensive outta the bunch and everytime something breaks but ya moved onto 1/10 arrma see how they hold up....
HBX is known for being really solid. I have heard that the Hyper Go stuff isn't as strong. My Arrma Big Rock has been pretty strong as far as the plastics but the drivetrain has had one problem after another.
Its a brushless version of Flyhal fc610 is it not? A lot more cool looking tho. I took the Flyhal because i am going to put stronger brushless system in it anyways. Nice video! Tnx
I think they share the same architecture. I remember hearing the Flyhal fc610 is similar to the HBX 2995 which is similar to the HBX 2997a. I assume the Flyhal doesn’t have oil filled shocks, a center diff, and a few other upgrades in the 2997a.
@@BriansRCStuff i believe you are right about the shocks but flyhal does have center diff :) they are really similar, flyhal is just uglier and needs a bit more love.
Are you saying they are too strong? Remember how I problem with it and it was stock but when I modified it, they were definitely too strong because I was running a more powerful ESC but then I just adjusted it. I have not personally tried it, but… I hear a surpass hobby program and card works on the ESC. I would confirm for you, but my truck is broken and has a different set up right now..
@@BriansRCStuff They are very weak. when I press the brake/reverse in forward motion the vehicle beeps and just keeps moving forward like nothing was applied.
You must have watched a different video than the one I made. I didn't put in all the jumps I did because if I put in all of the driving I did the video would get really long really quickly. It took many hits and a couple of them on pavement. In the video i made, I showed how it cracked the body with the one pretty hard hit I showed. No, I did not do any big jumps but that is why I linked to Derby City's video. He did crazy jumps on a cold day and the truck broke. I didn't want mine to suffer the same fate. If you jump high on pavement on a cold day you break stuff. I don't do skate parks and crazy jumps but check out his video and I think you will like it.
Ok cool thanks. I did see that derby RC video. He did put it through the test l was looking for. Should of jumped on it for 150$ on Amazon it 200$ now.
@@Schmidt3850 my Amazon is showing a $35 coupon right now (it was $50) so it should be $165. Yeah, that stinks… It is hard to say if it’ll go up or down next. He makes amazing videos!

@@DerbyCityRCThanks for clearing that up for me! I was a bit puzzled as to what was going on as it was accelerating fast but not wheelieing lol!

It does look really good Brian and your right they need to redesign the chassis to use bigger batteries

If you want to wheelie with a center diff, you need to put thick oil into it. Easy peasy

It has a center diff, you can tighten it if youvwant to do wheelies. A center diff is very rare but a great upgrade for a car with this price.
I changed to a thicker fluid in a later video but have problems with the diff loosing its fluid mostly when running 4s.

You can run the batteries in parallel with an adapter and double the MAH.

I am going to say 72x34 mm as that is how big the Urgenex is it fits with no room to spare.
Metal frames and metal suspension arms are bad for cars of this type. They dont take bashing well fyi.

If you drill a small hole in the body and run the antenna out and up, it may give you a little more range.

Any truck can run good on nothing but flat surfaces you tested it on. You didn't do one single jump with this truck. No durability test whatsoever.
