- This 2022 Ford F150 Tremor has a lot of visible damage, yet the scammers tried to cover up some of it. To make things worse they put a ridiculous price on it that does not make any sense. I have so many questions as to what they were thinking or were they thinking?

The grille is in good shape cause its not off that truck! That's an XLT grille
I noticed that as well
The cheapest grill Ford offers.
They ran outa dry wall screws
I'm really loving this 'look at the pictures, then go look at them in person' format.
A really good theory Scott. That's a lot of money for a VIN. Drywall screws must be the new rage. I can live without them.
Even if I was in the market for one, like a lot of these you show, I wouldn't touch it with 'that proverbial ten-foot pole'. Thanks for sharing this.
You remind me of someone I once knew, he worked in design engineering, we had bought a brand new 1981 Pontiac Phoenix from the dealership, we happen to stop by a local Big Boy restaurant, and he was there too. We chatted a little and mentioned our new car and pointed it out from the inside of that building. The first words out of his mouth were, that vehicle has been in an accident. We insisted it was new, after we went outside for a closer look, he proceeded to show us every detail to back up his statement, and there was plenty of details he pointed out. Us not knowing what to look for was the suckers that made that mistake, so I appreciate you sharing your knowledge in hopes of preventing others of making that mistake, or at least having the information ahead of time so they fully know what they are getting into.
ahhh. A little Bondo, a little paint... The rest will buff out. 🤣🤣🤣
Don't forget the Duct tape and Speed tape -they work wonders😂😂😂
@@duanebuck193I’m a fan of Zip Ties and bailing wire, as well as weather treated structural 2x4s. Can’t use the cheap 2x4s as they will warp.🤓
No no no someone from Miami would never pull any type of scam. They are so honest down there I would bet it’s a little old ladies truck that was only driven to market
Sad that this kind of crap goes on regularly.
They probably call you a hater,I love the idea of them cursing you wishing you would stop calling them out. I feel your helping a lot of unknowing people. Thanks John from Arizona
Visiting the vehicle in person adds a lot of credibility to your videos. Thanks for the public service 😊
The only way you could fix this truck (legally) would be to buy a flood parts truck with a certificate of destruction really cheap and use all the parts on this one. But there's still the question of how good the engine and transmission are, but it was listed as run and drive, so who knows.
A flood car to fix with the electrics and interior from this would make sense. And if it ingested water, then a "good"? drivetrain would be a big plus.
Why buy a donor truck if you can steal a perfectly good one……😂😂😂😂
Flooded cars from Florida with destruction title don't sell cheap. Florida makes a great deal: cuts all US and Canada people from these "destruction cars" so other countries without salvage laws lobbied by dealers can buy them, fix them and drive them. So, there is a market price made by normal countries
I think it would be interesting to hear the back story on some of these vehicles, I.E. what happened leading up to and in the accident. Probably impossible to get unless maybe if you were a LEO, but even then, it would be illegal to share. The VIN swapping theory is a good one. Certainly plausible. You said they weren't your friends which made me wonder if they ever contacted you with a cease-and-desist order. I don't recall you ever mentioning that.
I agree. Your theory sounds pretty solid to me. Another great video.
How come there isn't a law against hiding deployed air bag's.??
Seams like that would be a safety concern.
Vehicle isn't being sold to the general public safe for use on the roadways. If it was, then that would be a different story.
This is a salvage auction targeted to automotive professionals NOT a soccer mom looking to buy a car. Some states go so far as to PROHIBIT selling cars to people that are not a registered business.
@@bobroberts2371yes that is true. in New jersey IAA does not sell to the public. you can only be dealers, exporters, etc.
Who wood be duped into buying this wreck when it should be a parts truck😊😊
I agree with your theory someone is about to be very unhappy when their truck goes missing
It's a parts truck, only 2.5 k, great video 🙂
Love the way they cut out most of the front clip at the Radiator support
I’d just love know what the accident looked like. Both sides look like they slide along something, almost like it got stuck between a semi and a jersey barrier
That truck went pavement surfing....lol Thanks Scott.
Thank you for bringing these vehicles to light for us keep them coming.......👍
The clean title is probably what makes them think it’s worth more.
For a fast cheap full repair the purchaser need only obtain an identical vehicle without the clear title and do some swapping.
This cheap type of repair tends to make insurance rates skyrocket and was once the reason why total wrecks with no hope of repair or even being parts vehicles would fetch high prices. Salvage titles and the inspections that go with them were supposed to end this type of repair.
#6 black oxide wood screws have simply fallen out of favor, they are not considered uncool and no longer "in vogue". These guys are just keeping up with the times.
Being this is a clear title, it is defiantly worrisome. When I need some dash work done, we know who to contact!
Love your style, keep rocking it!
Lmao kenneth is a mans name, bot
In Australia, it would be bought to cover a stolen vehicle, just as you said.
I think you hit it square on the head. That VIN tag will end up on a stolen truck and since it has a clean title, there will be no inspection to rebuild it so no one will check the VIN on the parts to make sure it matches the VIN on the truck. That's where your scan tool will really come in handy. Check the VIN on the modules and compare it to the VIN tag and title. If they don't match, walk away. Stolen vehicle for sure.
A scan tool won't help if you move all of the computers to the other truck.
You Guys don't need to go to the Hardware Store for Drywall Screws, these idiots have cornered the Market & just give them away, good Video Scott & thanks for sharing
Rough truck Great video enjoy watching keep up the great work
In case anyone is wondering, 'our favorite sellers' are Elite Motorcars of Miami.
The damage on each side is amazingly uniform, sure wish there was video of how it happened. There's a poster who guessed it was between a Jersey barrier and a truck, in that direction I'd go with two semis. Any significant damage to the roof (like it rolled and slid on each side?
I bet the wheels and rims are takeoffs unless there was scuffing you didn't focus on. I'd also check them for wobble...
I think the sellers were thinking that maybe a buyer wasn't thinking.... Ya think?
that's a scary thought, that scam idea.
I think it's time to start naming names. It's easy to find out who 'our favorite sellers' are by doing a few VIN searches. They should be shamed. It's one thing to sell a car with the buyer's full knowledge that it's damaged, it's another to cover up a deployed airbag with a piece of upholstered cardboard.
Great investigation.
Clear title means nothing. I have had vehicles without collision coverage that got wrecked, and I sold them with clear titles since no claims were filed. If no insurance is involved, then no blemishes on the title. It definitely seems like you are right on the VIN swap or parts swap from a stolen vehicle. It's an easy way for a thief to make some money.
Those are base side mirrors as well. High package Tremors have painted to match caps.
Good catch. Are the wheels OEM?
This truck has scratches(abrasions really) on BOTH sides! How it that even possible? And ONLY $21K?What a deal.
It is a ringing kit for a stolen truck. Clean title says it all. An isentucal spec truck is probably about to go walkies
IN TENNESSEE EVEN
Here in the UK, the process of swapping VINs that you described at the end is called "ringing.". And, when wrecks like these with no apparent value come up, we call them "ringing kits."
Hey Scott, the tow hooks look good.Gord
Most likely an international buyer would fall for it.
With scratches on both sides of that truck it must have been a hell of a ride. I’m surprised the seats weren’t soiled.
Going right to the unit itself. The extra mile.
Interesting that a lot of side glass is no longer tempered. Wonder if it's an NVH or an anti-theft change.
I'm thinking it helps side airbag performance as the bag has something to push against rather than flopping out of the car. Yes, a window could be open in a side crash but I wonder if that is part of the crash test requirement.
I know on my 2006 Buick, the laminated side glass is for NVH (it was a part of a comprehensive sound deadening system Buick called "QuietTuning")
It's tempered safety glass, just has a good quality tint film on it.
I'd bet laminated safety glass, like a windshield. Likely for better side airbag performance.
That F150 has clearly seen some tremors on it's life before getting into that acution.
Based on the damage on both sides I don’t think it slid on its sides but probably hit a retaining wall on both sides of a parkway of some sorts since it had a Pennsylvania title…
horizontal scratches on the driver's side, vertical scratches on the passenger side, smashed passenger front corner, my scenario is it hit something on the front corner, shot left, slid along the jersey barrier, then went sideways and slid on the passenger side. Seen in person an EERILY similar truck do just this on the Parkway East by the Forest Hills exit (Pittsburgh)
Happy Saturday, Scott!🍻
Nice truck would make a good anchor ⚓ for Titanic ll . Hello Scottie .
Every panel on this thing has damage. Crazy!
looks like it went thru a tornado
I saw a couple lug nuts that were good, other than that, ready for scrap.
How many auctions are there? Don't they get complaints about these sellers? Could or would the auction places ban them from selling things?
Auto auctions hide behind the "we are just the auctioneers, we are not the owners of the vehicle being sold" thing. Never buy an auction vehicle without seeing it in person. Just the factory LED taillight on that pickup wholesales at over $1500 bucks from a dealership.
@@mycowboyways915 said " Auto auctions hide behind the "we are just the auctioneers, we are not the owners of the vehicle being sold" thing. "
So you are expecting a salvage auction to do a 200 point inspection and allow the buyer to cancel the purchase / get a refund if they find something wrong? THIS IS A SALVAGE AUCTION.
The solution would be a federal law PROHIBITING non automotive business / civilians from buying ANY salvage vehicle. Would you back such a plan? Some states already prohibit sales to non automotive people. An even better solution would be to do what Australia does. Even minor crashes result in a statutory write off where the car can NEVER be rebuilt.
That being said, dealer auctions for regular cars DO have an arbitration clause if the buyer finds a fault in a day or two. This is because the cars are being sold as operable and an entirely different environment.
I purchase rebuilder vehicles through Copart. Most states already prohibit people without a dealers license from purchasing salvage vehicles. Car dealers already know what they are buying. If you have ever bid online through Copart you are likely aware that many of these vehicles are going overseas and to South America. Scott is just pointing out sellers that are really good at doctoring up vehicles that really should be parted out and not rebuilt. If you are an auction buyer, I advise viewing the vehicle in person before the auction. Something simple like headlights, taillight's and a little trim can cost you thousands. Airbags and crash sensors, another 2-4 thousand. I kind of have a policy. If it has body damage, it's gotta run. If it has engine damage, it's got to have a pretty damage free body. Otherwise, you should just go find a good trade in online from someone local. Auctioneers are just that. They sell stuff. It's up to the buyer to know what they are buying and know if they have the skills or monetary means to repair the vehicle.
definitely trying to make the truck look the part of a vehicle that runs & drives with a clear title for some presumably nefarious reason.
✌️🐝➕
I can’t believe any auction would allow this .
Tremor...what will they think of next? Quiver?
Shake, rattle 'n roll. Oh- sorry. That's a Jeep.
Quiver would be a trim level on the Ranger and Shiver on the Maverick.
the F150 even had a Rattler package
this F150 definitely has frame damage; you can see it at 5:38 when Scott sticks his camera inside the headlight hole.
The driver's side suspension (wheel) is outside of the fender well. That frame has to be bent.
Have "Our favorite scammers" (Did I spell sellers wrong??) ever contacted you or anything? I hope they dont try to kidnap Mr. Spotty in retaliation!
Their google reviews reflect this type of criminal behavior.
You watched the original 1974 "Gone in 60 Seconds" movie recently!?
thanks for the video Kermit
It’s got a nice xlt grill on it👌
This question has probably been asked already: How can a vehicle with that much damage have a clear title?
Wow, no damage on the mirrors did they replaced them.
I’m going with a vin swap, either on one with a salvage title or one that was stolen
Nor sure how you swap VINs on a newer vehicles? I know back in the 70s and 80s you could junk a car with no title. Then you pop off the vin plates and keep them along with he tittle. My father got one of his cars on the road using this method.
Do you ever get contacted by these sellers?
21 hundred would be more like it. Even if I stole the parts to fix it😂
Are they rebuilding the garage that caught on fire? Are you going back there?
I don't think this truck was on its side. I think it tried to squeeze through or scraped a wall or another car. If it was on its side, that side view mirror would have been graound off. Also, this truck was on ebay for $20,450 ending on June 23rd
Maybe they swapped on some good mirrors?
Look at the scrape marks at 5:48 They run UP the car. The other side has slid along the road. Would've been a wild ride that's for sure!
a clear title could be someone didn't have full coverage insurance and then they sold it themselves on copart and a flipper could of bought it.
Cop didn't ask why you were filming? Doesn't the auction frown on recording devices on the lot?
21K? Wow, there's not one straight piece of sheet metal on it. The only question I had was HOW?
06:15 the little fish on the tail gate... if you know this song (Jesus Take the Wheel).. maybe you should have made sure he had it before letting go...
Are rebirthed cars and trucks still a thing theae days what data dots tech and vin numbers possibly etched onto all panels and chassis
I'm interested to know how many components have the VIN on them?
Guess Anherser Busch could buy it and recycle it for a couple Budweiser cans. Hmmmmm.
Kool video Scott. 🚗🚗🚗
Cop SUV rolling by. You should have reported this Tremor as a robbery in progress.
looks like a run and drive to me
The grill and bumper and are an XL truck
DG Auto Group = “Dollar General Auto Group?”
Sold by the " Drywallscrew Group " auto export inc.
Probably right on the vin thing
i wonder what it looked like right after the crash
There seems to be a lot of profit in drywalls screws and putting on junk parts. LOL but I don't want to be one of these low lifes.
Never trust a drivetrain that's been on it's side. Sure, engine may have shut itself down, but how long did it run with no oil pressure? May be fine now, but bearings have probably been significantly life shortened.
May be perfectly fine, but it's a serious gamble.
VIN SWAPPING STOLEN TRUCKS. NOICE!
Put a 1975 Chevy cap on it !
You could practice PDR on it🤔🤪
That not the grill that came with that truck
Too many parts have to change , and hard work to repair and paint , may be very expensive price sale , look for another project .
Hi Scott I am a long time watcher. Seem now days you must be relying on youtube for income. I remember you saying do not care about posting video? And what could do if we could do if do not like with the old body onto new chassy?
So I am to to assume that these auction companies have no system of checking the vehicles coming thru their auctions for possible fraud ?
This is a SALVAGE auction not retail,. As an automotive professional, you look and decide if you want to buy.
Caveat emptor.
You haven’t, by chance, heard from these guys down in Florida, have you? Just curious if they’re aware of you, and want to send you a Christmas card. 😂
How Many of the Junk Cars and Trucks they send to Auction actually sell ?
Oops sorry didn't see 1 was missing, guess the whole thing is junk.Gord
Yes, a clear title VIN is probably worth a fair amount to the right illicit capitalists. My question is this: On a '22 F150 how many VIN plates are there on the vehicle, how practical is it to swap everything, is the VIN stamped into the frame... Have manufacturers created ways that even if this is done it can still be detected? What about the VIN match in the computer system?
Passenger side step up bar is gone
How it has a clean title 🤔 this is why i have trust issues 😅
It will buff out
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
How could anyone tell if the VIN's are swapped on a vehicle?
On a modern vehicle there are lots of ways. As some unsuspecting buyer will find out in 4 or 5 years when the dealer orders parts based on the vin and they don't match. Then they will check and the current "owner" will get their car confiscated.
