    I'm glad my suggestion made it :P Also as for the slaughter of the Khajiit, it was worse than you think :) Basically, Pelinal wound up driving the remaining khajiit to the sacred mountain of Sunspire in Elsweyr, where the Khajiit prayed for salvation from his wrath. He only stopped because when get got to the summit of Sunspire, Alkosh, the Khajiit aspect of Akatosh, physically manifested and Shouted him off the mountain, leaving a time wound at the summit :)
    EDIT: Also, 'bird beaks' refers to the arrows the Ayleids used, as they include bird/eagle iconography in a lot of their creations.

      Should take a number then, im not done with those traitorous bastards. And with the Stormcloaks. And the Empire. Think about it, as a Dragonborn this continent should be under my command. Well except for the Argonians hood, i don't wann mess with genetical enhanced swamp lizards.

      The only person who has ever successfully invaded the Summerset Isles was Tiber Septim, and he cheated.
      Pelinal would be cast into the sea before he could say REMAN

    It gets a little more complicated than just "The elves were there first" they both evolved from the elnorfey (mightve butchered rhat) the humans were just the elnorfey that left the homeland early.

    Just remember: the Ayleid were fucked up, and the Thalmor are just but a faction within the Altmer, but everyone rejoice knowing the Dwemer are gone for good.

  • @Mare_Man
    @Mare_Man ปีที่แล้ว +24

    The Altmer in Summerset and the Bosmer in Valenwood have been pretty much content to stay in their own provinces and not bother with other race's affairs for most of Tamriel's history.

    • @KahavaveCAPIPI
      @KahavaveCAPIPI ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The entire reason that Bretons exist is because a bunch of High Elves conquered the area and took human concubines for so long that the local population began broadly exhibiting signs of merrish ancestry. This is despite the fact that in Tamriel children inherit their mother's race with only some mild appearance aspects from the father.
      The Ayleids were just Altmer that decided islands were stupid. In point of fact, AFAIK the city states were officially tributaries to the king of Alinor, though I doubt that was enforced.
      Also they were as bad to their own people as the Dunmer were to the beastfolk.

    • @Mare_Man
      @Mare_Man ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @Kahavave🔌🐰 the inheriting of the mother's race thing is a theory given by the book Racial Phylogeny, it's not a hard truth. The Direnni Hegemony was originally established by _Aldmer,_ who only later became Altmer. And whether or not the Nedic precursors of the Bretons they mingled with were there in High Rock already isn't known.
      The Ayleids were _technically_ Altmer, but their culture was about as far removed from their kinsmen as the Dunmer's. And the extreme cruelty of their rule only started when the Daedra-worshipping Ayleids took power, while those that worshipped the Aedra _joined Alessia._

    • @KahavaveCAPIPI
      @KahavaveCAPIPI ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Mare_Man The distinction between the Aldmer and the Altmer is similar to the distinction between the Romans and the Italians.
      The Meric population of High Rock was incredibly sparse, and their control over the area only happened when they used the Nedic population under their control to conquer the rest of High Rock. Whether they were there first or not, they didn't control High Rock until after they had already begun to subjugate local Nedes.
      I think there was a slight misunderstanding in my last sentence; I meant to say that the Altmer of Summerset Isle were as bad to their own people as the Dunmer were to the Beastfolk. You know, with the whole eugenics and murdering imperfect babies and having an incredibly stratified society that's borderline a caste system based on whether or not you're descended from an important Aedra or one of the unimportant ones.
      Racial Phylogeny has generally held up since its inclusion in the lore. While they've generally avoided naming mixed race children starting in Morrowind, when they were named they've held to the rules set in Racial Phylogeny.
      While the ridiculous extremes of Ayleid society were practiced by the Daedra worshipers, the human population of Cyrodiil had been enslaved en masse before the Schism even started. In addition, the most notable of the Ayleid Aedra worshipers became undead mummy kings enslaving large portions of black marsh and, whenever their Argonian slaves rebelled, killing and raising them as undead soldiers. The bad Ayleids are Drukhari, the good Ayleids are pseudo liches that wouldn't be out of place as the primary villain in regular high fantasy.

    I think that pelinal was either an avatar of Akatosh or Akatosh himself because of a couple of reasons
    1: he has a red diamond on his chest which is the same as the amulet of kings being a red diamond that lays close to the chest,(aka a necklace) and Alysia was granted the amulet of kings by Akatosh.
    2: If he is related to Akatosh then that would explain him seeming to be divine in some nature.
    3: If the rumor of him talking about future events and past events is true then that would connect him to Akotosh cause Akatosh is the dragon god of time.

    To be fair to the Elves of Tamriel, mer, not every iteration is as heinous as the other. The Orsmer, for instance, are amongst the most downtrodden, and have been since Boethiah decided to make a bowel movement out of their God. On the whole, they are reviled and looked down upon by their Elven bretheren the most, and have been condemned to fringe societies and cultures across Tamriel. The Bosmer too, are less despicable than the bulk of their Mer relatives - their level of evil, by and large, is comparable to every race in TES. And I say that fully knowing they're a race that practices cannibalism, and yet, they ARE less evil.
    Though, now that I'm thinking about it, Jagar Tharn, The Comran Usurper, and (officially) Mankar were all Bosmer...

    For all settings where elves exist, my stance on inter-species relationships can be boiled down to “F*ck the knife-ears.”
    I choose that specific wording precisely *because* of the implied dual meaning.
    The Elder Scrolls is one of the few settings where I mean it almost exclusively in the more violent sense. (With the possible exception of Tiber Septim showing Barenziah his Numidium.)

    I highly recommend Drewmora elderscrolls videos over older Fudgemuppet. The story telling style may not be the best for reactions. I still highly recommend it due to how much extra context and lore is given while still being engaging!
    Honestly if you are reading this fudgemuppet just put up a great new video about the empire.
