I love watching you unload your kilns! Because you love each single piece you're pulling out of it, which shows how passionate you are about your work. They're all like little babies of yours. Oh, btw, I am one of those giant mug drinkers - no coffee though, tea...
If you deep clean your studio, I would love to see a video showing the before and after! That'd be super satisfying! Also love you videos and your pottery!
A video on different kinds of clay bodies would be cool :) Compare/contrast results. I love the experimental/science element. Also would be really nice to see special planters (like ones for plants that need extra drainage at the bottom, peace lily etc.) with maybe more artistic add ons/attachments
What a FANTASTICALLY great kiln unloading! Can hardly wait to go shopping. As always, thank you so much for telling us exactly what glazes you used. Knowing those deets makes the videos extra special. I love knowing exactly what the mug I'm holding is made of when I drink from it! I've tried to do some of that cool carving technique on a couple of my own pieces. What would we call that? Maybe facets? I really enjoy doing that. It's relaxing for me! Love the carving work EC is doing, too. Gorgeous! So again, thank you so much for what you do here on your video channel Inspiring! Educational! Just plain FUN!!!. It is by far my fave! (P.S. I can't believe how much your baby boys have grown this year!) ~~Debz from California
Jon, you are already valuable in our world!❤ I've taken two semesters of ceramics at my community college (spring and fall of this year) and I can definitely confirm that seeing your pieces after they've come out of the kiln is an amazing things. Seeing the finished product after so much time working on them is one of the coolest feelings. My last pieces from this semester came out amazingly.
I would love a video on running your online store. What worked what doesn't? What were some of your mistakes or presumptions when you started? What have you learned now that your production has increased? What's your current biggest problem and how do you cope or solve it? I'm planning on creating something and selling it online I'd love to learn from someone as experienced as you.
The amount of excitement you show in your kiln unloading helps motivate me even more to get into pottery! I’m new to this world of pottery and I’m EXCITED I found your TH-cam channel!
I guess I would like more details in your videos. Like how many # of clay you use for different projects is one example. There are so many things we could learn from you!
Your joy pops off the screen 😃 A couple reminded me of Moscow mule cups and some were definitely unicorn colors. My daughter would approve 🦄 Beautiful work!
Both my brother and I use giant mugs. He drinks hot chocolates pretty fast and I found him a one of a kind goth mug on Etsy for his 21st. I like to drink my own tea blends and sip on them while I'm painting and prefer it when they go cold:) I am looking forward to handbuilding my own mug in the next couple weeks and love watching your channel and all the stunning glazes!! I bought a decent selection of Mayco glazes to play with that I fell in love with from watching your kiln unloadings:)
I like the large mugs because I drink ice coffee! Even in the winter (although I do live in Houston so my winter is not that cold). I’d love to see some large mugs in the marble / copper pairing. It’s beautiful.
Your videos are so inspiring! I always make time to sit down with a cup of coffee and watch them in my downtime after being in my ceramic workshop. Also, LOVE your latest carving technique coupled with the dripping glaze!
Jon, Your wife does an awesome 😎 job with the lumineers! Question: could you create a lumineer for her with a flat black surface so she can do her artist talents with removing star designs and then she can CUT star shapes, say, four windows ( two at the top, and two at the bottom) to add that festive element to the piece? Flat black or Natural white I would be interested in that decor design for my holiday season but I would keep it out year round because black or white, they could fit in with any decorations in my rooms. I am certainly interested in such a lumineer!
Your videos make me stoked to get my hands dirty in some clay. I live in two very remote places in BC Canada and have purchased a couple friends pottery gear to get into it at home (Bella Coola) thanks for sharing
Albany brown on carving& blue on carving are gorgeous. And the luminaries. ..holy cow! Would love to see a carving video for both. Happy Healthy New Year!
Hey Jon! My family loves your videos and pottery! My daughter joked today after this video that she wasn't "allowed" to watch your videos 🤣 baffled i asked her what she meant and she said "he always starts with 'hey guys!' And never gals" she cracked up so it was all in jest but interesting how children notice these things. She's 8 and just starting pottery but aspires to create art people love as much as we all love yours!!
Love your videos, your excitement is beautiful to watch. Your items are so cool. I like your Minnesota on the mugs, could you do other states and maybe some antlers?? I would love to special order....
I don't know if you ever do any hand building, but I am someone who always throws on the wheel and am trying to expand into hand building, so if you had any fun ideas for projects to try that would be cool for 2021! Love your pots, you are inspiring!
Thanks for all your videos this past year - I’ve enjoyed every single one and can’t wait to see what next year will bring. I do have one request - the JTP tee shirts and sweatshirts are cool, but I’d really love to have a Mocha Monkey tee shirt. Do you ever offer those for sale online for those of us who live in a different state and can’t come to the coffee shops in person? Happy holidays!
What do you do with your pottery you don't like? I have been making pottery for about two years now and I'm starting to collect boxes of pottery I wouldn't sell or give as a gift.
Love the excitement Bought your book it’s great! All your pieces are fantastic? What I would like to see as a video is info on kilns as I am a new home studio. Can be confusing as what temperatures are correct Happy holidays
I make WI ornaments just like your MN ones. I see that you lay them right onto your shelves. Do you only glaze the very top and not the back or sides? They don’t stick to your kiln shelves.
I love big mugs but don't drink coffee at all. Big mugs are great for almost any beverage including jazzed up spicy tomato juice (aka bloody Mary mix).
Hi Jon, I am a relative newcomer to the pottery business, I would love to know more about kiln management in terms of cooling regimes. I think I might be impatient to open my kiln, when do you crack yours?
If you like the look of carving go check out Blank Earth Ceramics on TH-cam and Instagram. They have some beautiful kurinuki style carved teapots and cups that might inspire some new crazy creations!

My siblings and I just unloaded our first glaze fire in the studio we set up in our basement this morning, it really is the best feeling ever!

Came for the pottery, stayed for your enthusiasm!

Love your colour combinations and your wife's work is beautiful.
I would love to see a video on how you stack your kiln for a bisque fire. And a video on your photography set up.

Hi Jon, I am a relative newcomer to the pottery business, I would love to know more about kiln management in terms of cooling regimes. I think I might be impatient to open my kiln, when do you crack yours?
Have you ever tried firing glazed pieces that are only dried and not fired. Do you think the dried clay would affect the glaze firing?
Hahaha, 2 of my daughters love giant mugs and drink every last drop ( usually lol)
What is the total number of pots for 2020? Would love a video with your wife’s carving technique, I can’t seem to become successful with it.
Interested... But I also want to learn would you like to guide me
I'm curious about the Satin Patina glaze. It that a cone 10 glaze? Thanks

When you clean up- what do you have in your sink to catch the clay . Also, is your kiln room vented or your kilns vented?
