Both options are impractical. Both look sedan from all angles. Although Tata’s sales figures are promising, Citroen’s performance in the Indian market since its launch has been disappointing.
Instead of using India spec C3 which is outdated model, they should have built Basalt on the new C3 language which is modern and elegant. Then it would have been a better competitor to cars in Indian market.

I don't understand Autocar's logic of giving opinions on back seat space & support from the POV of someone who is NOT REPRESENTATIVE of average Indian height. 🤷 Are they too dumb to understand this, or just try to portray some brands negativity?
If one is a tall person - say 6 -6.2 ft tall, it is impossible to sit in the back seats of these coupe SUVs without banging one’s head on the sloping roofline. They are ok for short folks. Personally Im NOT a fan of these.
Same dashboard design for every models of Citroen and that old door handles, no push start stop button, i think these are the major drawbacks for Citroen. No one will pay 15lakh for top model with that door handles.

Basalt should launch a model with keyless entry, push button start and without those ugly door handles and I will buy one instantly. I don't find any other issues that are off putting in Basalt. Possibly cruise control or CNG model with just push them in lead.
Kerb weight of basalt is 1250kg against curvv's 1350kg hence engine feels lot peppy. Where is the safety rating for basalt? Nobody will take risk buying a car whose company is unable to sell even 500 cars a month
Citroen should have focused on 5star rating as they are aware of the fact that tata will come with 5star...next is they should have done same thing in a different way like the door handle and they should have given much emphasis on service including service on wheel by promoting service network and gaining trust by assuring they wont go away like ford chevy fiat
