The Durango & Silverton narrow gauge railroad is a wonderful train ride as the other train rides. It's one of the two scenic railroads that was used to be used by Denver & Rio Grande Western railroad. Which are the Cumbres & Toltec and the Durango & Silverton.
There were ten K-36 locomotives. The only K-36 that was scrapped was # 485. Today only nine K-36 locomotives survived today and eight of them are operating today. 483 is the only K-36 that doesn't operate. But it's still being found at the Cumbres & Toltec put on display outside. The rest of engines are operating in the Cumbres & Toltec and the Durango & Silverton.
The DSNG is such an amzing railroad! I was fortunate enough to see two of its trains on the same day when I visited Duragno in 2017! (It looked a lot like the scene at 9:47, with the exact same engine)
My uncle actually went to the Durango and Silverton railroad last summer in july and sent me back some goodies that he got for me such as 2 magazines, a pamphlet of the place, a blue ray DVD of the railroad (which I still haven't watched yet), a post card and a t shirt of the railroad in there signature color yellow since mostly all of their passenger cars they have are yellow. I didn't wear the t shirt til mid August because I was waiting to wear it for a special event I was going too and when I went there and wore it and I meet up with a TH-camr I met for the second time in the row and he said that the durango and Silverton railroad is his favorite railroad which I almost forgot since he mentioned it in a video back in fall 2016 but it's great to know someone who likes trains just like me rather than myself and my uncle
CoasterFan2105 At the D&S: I rode 476. The other two engines were 482 and 473. I chased the next two days and they ran 473, 482, and 486. At the C&TS: I rode 484 and the other engine from Antonito was 488. I chased the next two days and they ran 484 and 489
Even if this was only shot 4 years ago, lots of changes have happened on the railroad since then. All the K36s had 5 chime whistles and nowadays they are more diverse in terms of whistle sounds. Almost all the K36s are oil burners now with both K28s and the lone K37 also running on oil.
Хочется тоже прокатится! Этим пассажирам повезло, у них останутся приятные воспоминания! Спасибо за видео!
He said “I want to ride too! These passengers are lucky, they will have pleasant memories! Thank you for the video!”
Did you speak Spanish
I absolutely love 480s whistle at 0:10, it’s about perfect!
U should listen to 480’s whistle today and see which is its best whistle
@@DenverRioGrande487 I’ll be going by soon so hope I can get a listen!

482 is one of the nine survived K-36 locomotives that were used by D&RGW. I did rode on it in 2016 and film it too.
Nathan Corcoran yep. One of 8 still operating. I rode it back in 2015. Didn’t get to ride it in 2016 or last week, but I chased it last week.

Any one have an idea why there is a boxcar behind the tender at 0:50? Tool car possibly?
The D & S carries goods for the power station and 'ropes' retreat besides passengers to the retreat.
We are headingthere at around 7:00
The two dislikes are from Diesel lovers.
Hi mike
Coasterfan. I am railfanning tomorrow at Edmonds, you coming? I am finally going to be able to make it to Edmonds. I'm going there in the morning.
Why so
Underated...
Wait, was that box car reverse sagging? How was it bowed like that?
Overtightening the truss rods.
Roy Reynolds ah,got it
