No offense but I would like to state a fact that a lot of 2nd generation idols including Bigbang were popular in the kpop industry BUT only BTS is the group who introduced kpop successfully to the world. Their success is incomparable and BTS represents south korea as a whole.

Actually, there were other groups and artists that exposed Kpop to the outside world before, especially the U.S., like PSY, Wonder Girls, Super Junior, BOA, and Bigbang! So, I wouldn't necessarily use the word "introduce"
@@hurlysurf They all tried but never made it big outside of Korea. Psy's song was a one hit wonder nobody knew he was Korean nor did he get people interested in k-pop. Most people learned about the existence of k-pop through BTS. They shined the light on the industry and on the country as a whole. All the groups you've mentioned have talked about how k-pop became popular globally thanks to BTS.
@@sarahomar8351 I never said they made it big. They did hold world tours, went on talk shows, etc, which indicates global exposure. Just because other Kpop artists exposed Kpop globally doesn't undermine BTS's achievements and impact. Everyone certainly knew PSY was Korean...I'm not sure where you are from, but in the U.S., everyone knew. Also most people certainly did not learn the existence of Kpop through BTS. Many people that I know listen to Kpop their first group/exposure was not BTS, mine included. Plus, my last comment was on the user that used the word "introduce." Kpop was not introduced by BTS at all. Be sure to read between the lines! Never stated anything about the amount of impact.

Im 31yrs and my sister is 26yrs she got me into kpop back while she was in intermediate school. She was a BIGBANG FAN BECAUSE OF GD.
So iv been into all groups and solo artist for years and haven't stopped since.
I think it's amazing to have this collaboration of an old with the new especially when they have been fans and looking up towards their idols too.

I agree with what you said for the most part but it was BTS who paved the way for KPop to really break into the U.S. / the west. With great respect to the OGs, but they were never able to blow up in the west; BTS ARE the GOAT.
Fun fact: Wedding Dress is the one song Jimin learned to play on the piano. Taeyang is Jimin’s Idol…he always dreamed of being able to perform with Taeyang; Teddy and Taeyang waited 3 years for Jimin to be able to perform a collab. With him. Taeyang has the same kind of sweet , respectful personality as Jimin. 😊

He interviews Taeyang and of course if you are interviewing your mate's idol you'll bring him up so they talk about Jimin but also cant help but expose baby picture of Jimin imitating his style singing his songs. Then sort of invites himself to dinner when T says he wants to cook for Jimin. U guys are going to luv Suchwita b/c he interviews all the old school kpop, actors , producers. Interview w/ Tablo and xCapitan, oh and TAEMIN. That was a great one and again Jimin.

Bts is the group that made kpop global. All respect to Bigbang but its not them. Bigbang made ALOT of things popular in kpop. But when it comes to charting, breaking records, awards, making kpop popular, making it WAY easier for other kpop groups to get popular and get chances in the west. its bts not bigbang.

I’m not surprised to see the competition between BigBang vs BTS fans..the reality is BTS has openly express respect and admiration for BigBang.. No disrespect to Bigbang, I like them too but to say they revolutionize Kpop is an overstatement. They surely made Kpop more popular and introduced trends. To be revolutionary is to go against the status quo and create a new one. Which is what BTS exactly did. They made their own rulebook and eventually made Kpop global. I live in the UK now and you hear BTS on the radio, in TV quizz shows, in pop conversations. I was at a cafe in Greece 2 years ago and had to pinch myself as I heard BTS song played on the radio. 💜💜💜

Two groups can revolutionize kpop, it isn't just BTS 😭 why do we make it a competition. Only BTS can do great things? They did amazing things, but BIG BANG definitely revolutionized kpop and music. I mean they are the blueprints. They CREATED the status quo. BTS is not the only great revolutionary kpop group, international success is not the only achievement. This track, which came out at the beginning of last year, marked Jimin's very first step as a solo artist. While I personally have mixed feelings about Bigbang due to various scandals and my reservations about YG Entertainment.. it's worth noting that Jimin has always looked up to Taeyang as an artist. He’s also been inspired by Taemin from SHINee since the beginning of his career. (a close friend of his for a very long time too.. also had worked together on stage..) (you could say that jimin was inspired by both of their dance styles and created his own..)

Hopefully this comes across as the friendly heads up it's meant to be and you can use or discard it based on whatever experience you guys are looking for. I've been watching you guys this past month and watching the comment section too. I've enjoyed your reactions and I think you've felt the power of ARMY by now.
However on your current trajectory, you might be attracting solo stans (fans that only like one or some members, usually to the exclusion of the other members) by focusing a lot on certain members' solo stuff. That's a pretty quick way to frustrate and run off ARMYs when there's so much content. It seems like you keep getting requests for the solo stuff from the same members, so hopefully they don't already outnumber the ARMYs still here and I don't get jumped in this comment section.
The only thing more efficient at running off ARMYs would be to start reacting to a lot of other random kpop. Yeah, some of us like a few other songs/groups, but I'm not just being dramatic when I say that channels I've followed are never the same after stepping in that direction. Unfortunately, even when they do still react to BTS, ARMYs don't tend to show up on a regular or consistent basis anymore.
An anecdotal observation for the numbers game: I'm looking at a channel I used to sub to that started with BTS like 4 years ago, got 100k subs easy within its first year, then started reacting to other groups, the community/comment section changed (at which point, a lot of ARMYs usually peace out), and they're not close to 200k subs years later. They reacted to 'Who' when it dropped almost 2 weeks ago and that video is sitting at 53k right now when they used to consistently break 100k on BTS reaction views. In fact, a scroll through their uploads shows they often don't even break 20k views these days on non-BTS uploads.
Anyway, you can take it or leave it, curate your own journey. Either way, I wish y'all the best!
