When I was a very small kid, such yellow minivan dominated the roads of my hometown, I even have the memory of taking these minivan taxies with my parents. Then very quickly they got decommissioned and disappeared from the road. All of its story happened nearly 30 years ago, quite an iconic vehicle for Chinese people that live in early 90s.
Yes I can imagine that. I am happy to see WPL make cars that are so different to what we have here. This really shows us the variety and I for one am in love with this thing.
@@AMPROEngineering well fear no more because at full speed with the regular steering setting it still has not flipped and trust me i gave it the beans like three times already. The rear inner wheel sometimes lifts but it just keeps chugging along
Got it on order. Its a daihatsu hi jet. Mystery machine for my first one.Pity you can't get a figure under the steering wheel.Suppose some kind of mod needed. Looking forward to it. Loved the info Thank you
Gotta get me one asap! I so love tiny (kei) vans! Would be a nice fit with my D12. I just noticed the D42 is left hand drive and the D12 is right hand drive…
@@AMPROEngineering Not sure... the D12 and D42 are based on vehicles originally from Japan, and afaik those are all right hand drive for their domestic market… Maybe WPL just decided to alternate between lhd and rhd for the D series. D12 rhd, the (for now) skipped D22 lhd and D32 rhd, coming to a lhd D42…? Just an idea though :)
You can solve all the problems replacing plastic chassis with metal chassis and also metal shock absorber to lower the center of gravity. And if you want to improve it even more, alloy wheels.
That was always a hard one to nail down. I always thought it was either a mid-’60s Chevy G-Body panel van or a Dodge A100. Either way, I have seen people slap that paint scheme on a Previa, lol!
I really think WPL is going for the Japanese model market, where they have whole model towns and drive around semi trucks and run construction cranes etc..
cool video, i bought this rc to do up like my real Daihatsu van. i did it up like a panel van like you mentioned. ive a teaser here... still customizing it, i want to make it so the doors and rear hatch are able to be opened. probably will skip the sliding doors... th-cam.com/users/shorts_m3ybxDczdo
I thought I was the only one who likes vans and small cars. Kei vans are awesome!!!
I love this thing and judging by how often WPL has this out of stock, we are not the only ones!
Love this little van and the headlight beam pattern looked so realistic on the road looked just like old style headlights!
Yes I agree!
Three words..... I WANT TWO!!! 😁😁
These little guys are so much fun. Living in an Apartment, these are better suited than anything else I have.
LOL, they are awesome.
@@Flunkyjunkyfloyd123 I believe you're right!! 😋
I hope Tamiya is listening, these models are gorgeous. I ordered one yesterday, can't wait to fiddle with it.
I do too but I suspect they are too busy with fanboys and the comical series.
I love wpl RC trucks I painted my d42 exactly like Scooby-Doo mystery machine it looks really good 👍
Oh have you posted that? I think I have seen it!
I don't usually watch long videos but I watch this one without skipping! haha! Love the sexy voice and lotsa info man!
If 18 minutes is long video for you, you should really look for help with that short attention span problem...

This is an awesome addition to WPL, I've been looking at getting at D12 but now I want to get this as well!
I would say the D12 is a more useful car but I am in love with this.
That is really cool. WPL are doing well. I really like my D12, great runabout for my niece and nephews to use.
They are crushing it right now. I love this segment they are creating too!
Thank you for your review. Had two D12 and now i want this D42. It would be great to have a driver and some passengers in the van.
Oh I just ordered a bunch of figures for it! Glad you liked it!
Love this little van .Great video. Best wishes
Thank you Paul. I loved that Fiat 125 build. I have a Lada toy that I will turn into a 124 rally. Should be fun!
Just got mine a few days ago, had to get one after seeing this video.
I have so many things planned for this. I love this van.

@@AMPROEngineering Haha, in our RC community people love scale crawler, short-course truck and monster truck the most---all American style I believe.
Oh I bet! I happen to like things that we do not have here, like this little van!
Yellow Taxi has missed the mark with open doors. Nice unboxing, almost to fit action figures in them! (B-)
Yes it is a shame! I ordered figures to cram in there!
Great video. I’m sure there will be a lot of funky taxi builds being built with this one.
Tiny lunchbox?
@@AMPROEngineering 🤫 could be
Oh how precious it is
Well said! I always want to hug it.
Like Zoinks! It's a Scooby Doo Van. 🐶🐾
Time to get painting!
My wife just bought one and has driven it top speed but with the normal steering on concrete and that just wont roll!!! It is surprisingly stable
That is seriously my fear!

Yes I know, annoying. It seems the base of the seat can be lowered by cutting it a bit. I will try!

I designed new wheels already. I am adding 6 figures to the car so that should help considering how much slower it will be, hahaha!
@@AMPROEngineering ok! 😅 Maybe it's possible to change the motor?
How I wish this had front brakes so you could do an endo...
Boy would it....
Also know in the UK as a Bedford Rascal. Bedford is the commercial van brach of Vauxhall/Opel
I knew I had seen one before! I have been there often for work and though this looked familiar.
The scoobie doo van was a Dodge D150 from the 70’s

So it wouldn't pass the Scandinavian moose avoidance test then 😁 love this little van.
NO! No it would not! hahahha!
I should do one and decal “Island Hoppers Helicopter” on it 😊
That would be killer.

There and china. The Chinese market is HUGE for these cars and they are selling like crazy!

Too bad the doors or trunk don’t open…. I do like the product…
