- We finally get on the tour bus and enjoy a wonderful hour seeing the interesting places around Paphos, Cyprus. Before that we go on the hunt for famous people who may be right around the corner from our apartment.

Mazzy say she doesn’t drink caffine. But she’s drinking coke which has almost as much caffine as some coffee. Even diet. lol anyway enjoy the sun xx

Hello Dan, you seemed rather surprised about the theatre... We have the Ancient Greeks to thank for a lot of our 'modern' Western culture. For example: Philosophy, Mathematics, Medicine, Poetry, Theatre etc. and even our way of Government....all to do with intelligent and intellectual debate and Democracy. Sometimes I wish I was back living in those days. But let's see what happens in the next 5 years eh? 🤣 It's a new Era.

Hi lovelies 👋 glad your feeling better Mazzie ❤ Doner kebab - popular all over Europe, this is the Turkish signature dish that everyone has heard of and the great standby take-away after a night on the town. Fragrantly spiced meat cooked on a large rotating skewer, sliced thinly and served in Pita bread. The traditional meat for kebabs is most often lamb meat, but regional recipes may include beef, goat, chicken, fish, or even pork (depending on whether or not there are specific religious prohibitions). « Doner » doesn’t mean the meat Dan, it just means to turn or rotate whatever meat they have at the time lol

I think that 'donner' means to turn or rotate, from Turkish, like it's cooked on a turning spit. You've probably been getting gyros which is the Greek version. Gyros gives us gyrate in English, I think, but I might be wrong.
Exactly. doner means seasoned meat cooked vertically on rotisserie. It can be any meat not just lamb

That's not a barbers anymore it's a hair extention shop. I know because my balcony is directly above it. The MAD Barbers is now where l showed you.
Guys Greek Cypriots don’t do a doner it’s only advertised like that for the tourists, what you had is gyro’s pronounced with a silent g, it’s either pork or chicken and pure meat, a doner on the hand is every part of a cow or lamb apart from the meat if you get my drift, if you want lamb order a souvla which is big pieces which is the only way we do lamb, souvlakia is small pieces either pork or chicken.👍

Doner kebab can be pork lamb or chicken. Doner kebab just means seasoned meat cooked vertically on rotisserie.

Interesting to see from the bus what has changed from quite a few years ago . were planning to go back but to be honest what I have seen not impressed. Now looking at north Cyprus.
Hope you get to go to an old fashioned Cypriot restaurant. We loved Stavros restaurant near tomb of the kings . Closed many years now . RIP Stavros lovely person ❤

That was surprisingly amazing, I wasn't sure what a bus ride would be like at first....but colour me impressed! Great views of Paphos, I now feel like I can picture it a little bit better.
This felt like proper virtual tourism - loved the Tomb of Kings area and old town. It really is so interesting to see a modern city right next to these ancient ruins - I think it's absolutely superb.
I bet the Archaeological museum is amazing too, any plans to visit?

The Donna mart is all the trimmings from lambs and it’s quite fatty used to see them making the kebab large ones for the shops they were enormous

Maybe the cruise liner has brought people in from the ship by a tender. That’s what we have done on cruises .
Caffeine will cause your heart to beat fast. So may cause you to become anxious. I wonder if they do decaf coke there guess not in Cyprus. Maybe try a soft drink with lemonade . Bless you. Enjoy the rest of your break if your still there.
