The Giants Causeway car park is free. Its the visitors centre that charges a tenner. Its set up sneakily so its hard to notice, but you can park and just walk past the vistors centre and not pay a thing.
Just came across this. My late dad was born in Bushmills , though I was born in England , as he joined the army in England. I still have many relatives living there. Your wander around the town brought back good memories of holidays there. My great uncle was a security guard at the distillery. And my grandad was a builder, with his own company along with my uncle. I remember many holidays during marching season, and my uncle and grandad were Orange Men, from the local lodge. my uncle played the drum in the local band. My grandparents house backed onto the river bush and he was a very good salmon tickler ! If you know, you know 😂 It used to be a place where every one knew everyone else..but looking at where you walked around, it’s much bigger now ! 😊
Hope your enjoying our wee country that people here under appreciate its really is gods country with the best people on earth on it. Also you cant have a ulster fry without a soda farl so be sure to try one
You visited the memorial gardens for the Dunlop men in Ballymoney . This area is full of bikers who like to road race and make loads of noise. love to hear and smell the bikes go by . Famous road race bike circuit NW 200 is nearby.
The local councils decorate the empty shops when big events visit neighbouring towns. The shops in Ballymoney and Bushmills were done when the British open visited Portrush in 2019. They did the same when the G8 was in Enniskillen and when the Giro D'Italia bike race visited Belfast. They do it so the area looks better on TV and to make it feel more welcoming for visitors
Scenery is absolutely spectacular. One day when you two look back on your travels, you'll see yourselves with that magical background. Excellent footage, thanks. ☘️
The shop fronts were done in every town by the local councils to help the look of old disused properties. They often depicted what used to be in each building, for example the old courthouse in Bushmills had a Judge looking out the window. The Bushmills Inn used to be an old coaching Inn which dates back to the early 1600`s, the old tower has beautiful rooms inside it and the bunting is for the upcoming 12th of July parade which Bushmills is probably? hosting this year.
The oak house was a bar and the 2 guys painted behind the bar work at the distillery. I’m 42 and I used to go there when I was younger, so it’s not been closed for as long as it seems. The bushmills inn, the front part facing the main road and painted whit has been there for a couple of hundred years, maybe more. The bit you see at the back all brick and stuff have been added in the last 20 years, some of it is not long finished.

The flags are for the 12th of July. It used to be a lot more jingoistic and a bit 'in your face' for non-Loyalists, but it has become more of a family day now. Bushmills would be a very Loyalist town, hence the red, white and blue paint on the footpaths. 'European dishes' just means non-Chinese, though in fairness, what is sold as 'Chinese' isn't really. :)
Great scenery guys Omg I would not have been able to walk on those lookouts lol. What a beautiful view thou. You two are the best you are so funny. Love your channel. Thanks as always & take care

Hi both, great Vlogs thanks for sharing, we have just returned from a trip to southern Ireland its probably the windiest place we have been to 😊 if you are going south down the WAW check out ths Cliffs of Moher they are stunning, happy travels.
All the flags on the streets are for the 12th July. The 12th is celebrated in Northern Ireland every year. It is theCelebration of the Glorious Revolution (1688) and victory of William of Orange at the Battle of the Boyne (1690). On the 11th night of July we light a bonfire , The tradition of lighting bonfires throughout Northern Ireland on the night of July 11 is believed to have started as a way to commemorate the lighting of fires on hilltops in Antrim and Down that helped Williamite forces navigate through the Belfast Lough at night during the Williamite Wars in Ireland. Hope this helps 😊

The flags and bunting are up for 12th July celebrations. They mean European dishes as in UK dishes. Portrush is lovely. I drove 101 miles from Kilkeel to Portrush every 2 weeks to visit my friend.
My stomping grounds and gutted I didn’t bump into yous. Walking my dogs at Magheracross today and thankfully not as blustery as that. I’d recommend portstewart for a visit!! Some lovely wee shops and you have to try a Maud’s ice cream!! Also the food in the bushmills inn is incredible!!
Just a side note: you walked straight past one of the best butchers for Miles around..it was at the top of the street on the way upto the salmon fishery. You could have got your fresh burgers from there..I live 6 miles from Belfast and we travel upto Bushmills most weekends to get our meat from there..if you had gone up the straid road from Bushmills to Ballycastle there is a farm that sells goat meat and their burgers are lovely..
Ah your right Mark , I can see the resemblance with yourself maybe they painted the picture while you were posing . Good job done .
