Oh stop. There is plenty of good new music, but something happens to people around middle age and they are unable to even give it a chance and get stuck listening to the music of their adolescence over and over again.
@doctordetroit4339, what days do you miss because if you're talking about the 80s in Zimbabwe, Iraq, or Somalia, then you're correct. Well, but it was really only "fun" if you identified wt the party commiting the genocide. Oh ok so in the 80s but just not anywhere near the genocides & we'll pretend they didn't happen. Ok but we still have the Cold War & the East Berlin problem.. Ok you mean the 90s after the Iran - Contra debacle & when Cold War ended? Ok, well once we out from behind enemy lines & away from the Bosnian genocide, we enjoy some good times in 'Merica bangin' rails & getting heavy during the last days of Pablo Escobar's cocaine magnifico. Don't worry though because his 70 billion dollar enterprise isn't going away & neither is the coke-it will change hands & usher in the modern notion of the Mexican drug cartel. But we're actually stepping into the future of what's about to happen in the next decade between America & Cartels de la Mexico. I will admit that there was a brief moment were it seemed like we on the crest of something better in the 90s,... But then Oklahoma City Bombing happened which was horrendous, but the real kick in the nuts was definitely the Columbine School shooting followed not long after wt 911 World Trade Center, Twin Towers collapsing. Plus Biggs & Tupac even B4 that, & dang, did I f'n forget to mention L.A. riots in 92? Yo because that sh¡t nasty when you get up in it... The craziest f'n ting tho, the violence has always been here whether ur paying attention or not. It's always going to occur, ALWAYS. IT'S not only part of the nature of our species but it's part of the natural, interactive process of life & it's absolutely always going to shock someone in it's periphery. Paradoxically, happiness occurs right alongside violence because we are a species that bifurcates our perception into Good & Bad. If we were spiders or ants-no fvcking concept of these positive & negative views besides energetic feeling, verses malaise. Woops, gotta jump out of this beast of a plane & cut this short because it's past "O" dark thirty🤧
I had an 84 Mustang, bought it from a Teacher from my High School, Class of 86. Now years later, I've got a 2006 Mustang, faster and prettier but almost in the same light Blue color.
Me and my 1986 IROC z what you got a great price on cuz I was working at the Chevy dealership cruising around with my girlfriend I met that September 85 oh by the way she had an 84 mustang. not the GT. for some reason so many of us cry the big strong man we grew up in the 80s let's just something about that time when we think back to it we're happy but it makes us cry it's weird
I have always loved this song and they still sound great!!! This is one of those songs that I just crank up the volume and sing along every time I hear it.
I saw these guys last Thursday in Bakersfield, CA. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Blew away the crowd. They've never played our town--you could just see everyone was blown away!
Sounds as sweet as the 80s that tune never gets old it evokes all kinds of pleasant memories of going out on Weekends always the joy of anticipation of which young ladies we would meet and the shared fellowship of hanging with friends whose memories forever etched in my soul.
I was going to school in pottstown Pennsylvania when they made the video for this song have the old driving movie theater Man think that was 1983. Wow 40 years and they still sound great
This song was a guilty pleasure of mine, being caught listening risked being tossed out of my tribe but did I ever love it. They just knocked this out of the park, do they ever sound good here. Happens when their heart is in it, easy to tell.
I have been to a lot of concerts over the past 4 decades. These guys rank in the top 5 of my favorites to see. They just played a West Coast tour....first timevin 30 years.... I'll definitely go see them anywhere I can make it.
Got to see them a few weeks back along with Rick Springfield, The Tubes and Tommy Tutone and the Hooters played like the world was there. Truly gifted musicians and wonderful performers who write such feel good songs and some very deep ones as well.
The 80s was a decade of fantastic bands and great shows. Sure do miss those years. Could go have great time and not have to worry about anything happening
Wow. I listed to Nervous Night album all the time when l was in high school in the 80s. They sound amazing. I think they did the right thing, not killing themselves over-touring and giving into record company pressures, like so many other musicians, (if that's what went on). Very happy for these guys.
@@harriscl100 ah yes, thank you Virgina, thank you Hampton, and thank all of you at home watching having a few drinks, smoking a few joints, I'm with you, alright!

@@taniakrause9253 thanks Tania - just listened to a few songs but what should I say, I'm totally disapointed. I mean they can do what they want, but to me it seems they totally lost their way, it just seems to be about creating some kind of party mood. Even the predecessor "Pissing in the Rhine" shows nothing of their old strength. I think they've lost focus on what they value their fans for and what their huge following is based on, which is their folky-rocky sound with great melodies and that great romance that sets them apart from all the emotionally rare, keyboard fundamentally Radio music in the mid-80s. There are countless ska bands, the world doesn't need any more - unfortunately there are very few bands like the Hooters. I would wish for another album where they reflect on their own strengths.
One thing we never saw back then were Rockers who looked like our grandparents...Life is short...ROCK ON !
Back when the music was fun, great, happy....and so was society. I miss those days!

One of the greatest Philly bands ever thank you Pierre Robert and WMMR for introducing this band to me in the 80s!
I live in central NJ and know WMMR 93.3 very well going as back as I can remember. Well into the 70's.
