      2 time all American sprinter
      Heisman Trophy

@@roostershifflett Everyone also needs to remember his stats were during a time when they played 1 less game during the regular season (11 then vs 12 today) and player stats from Bowl games, conference championship games, or playoff games did not count towards the players' statistics.
PERFECT example is Nick Chubb (who is in my top 3 Bulldogs of all time, I literally love the guy and how he represents himself, his family, his school and team). Nick's statistics for his Senior year are from the FIFTEEN GAMES he played that year. That is 4 more games than Herschel got his Junior year. Nick missed 7 games his Sophomore year due to injury AND STILL played and got credit for 14 (FOURTEEN!!!) more games than Herschel did. Imagine Herschel's stats had they played a 12 game regular season as they do now and if stats from Bowl and playoff games also counted. Just with the extra regular season game and the bowl game, based on his approx 160 yards per game, that would add almost another 1,000 yards to his 3 year total. This doesn't include SEC Championship games or Playoff games. Don't even get me started on if he would have stayed for his Senior season. I was fortunate that my Freshman year at UGA was Herschel's Junior and last season there. At least I was able to witness the greatness that was Herschel Walker.

I was thrilled when he joined the Cowboys in 1986.Dallas was 6-2, tied with the Giants but lost in week 9 to NY when Danny White suffered a season ending injury. Dallas had no good backup QB , season went downhill. He was amazing in two following years on very bad Cowboys teams but his trade to Minnesota jump started the Cowboys rise to Champions again. It was great to see him come back to Dallas at the end of his career. I’ve followed him from time to time since and now he’s in politics and I wish him well.

With his speed, that worked. Herschel said he just saw one man at a time, and attempted to beat that one man.
The thing is, it often took more than one. It honestly did. I've never seen anyone drag people like that. He was strong as an **OX,** no question about it. Along with Olympic speed. Literally.
